I can play the solo without errors... in RR at 60%.

Any tips for note recognition during the tapping? I'm hitting the notes but it seems like there is a lot more missed notes than there should be. Maybe I need to tap and pull off harder. Maybe active pick ups would work better. Or maybe I'm not playing it as well as I think I am, lol.

I find that you need to pull off the tapped note distinctively, the rest can be played legato. I do not think active pickups would make a difference, I have passive ones too.

As long as you have calibrated your rocksmith and your pickups aren't super low output to begin with, you should be able to get decent note recognition for tapping. The most important thing to notice is how cleanly yout tap the note and do the follow ups with pull offs and hammer ons. If your muting and/or fingering technique is poor, you will easily get accidentals from other strings and even sympathic harmonies from open strings, if you don't cover them while tapping. The accidentals and feedbacks are only more and more audible with active pickups.

The best thing you can do is play with a distorted amp (preferrably outside of rocksmith, due to its noise gate) to see how clean your single string tapping and legato techniques really are. if you are constantly in a situation where your signal distorts heavily, then it means you are doing a poor job muting the strings. If you don't have access to a dirty amp, then tone designer from rocksmith is your friend.

if you copy the "image location" instead of the raw URL, you can embed those images directly to the post, which makes it easier to see and register your scores. This can be achieved by right clicking the image and choosing "copy image location".

Hi Everyone !

This week is hader than the two previous for me, lower tuning and note recognition is a bit lost sometimes...

But here are the results :

Beginner : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2282183604

Bonus https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2282184369

Intermediate https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2282184717

Advanced (my rank, i'll improve if i have time for) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2282185266

Masterclass : total fail, 3 strikes before the middle of the song, its too fast for my snails fingers T_T

Good luck to everyone 😄

Hmm, so there is something wonky about the Prophet. I had the same kind of mismatched mastery and accuracy glitch on my LAS attempt as well. Unexplainable few percent difference.

Besides playing technique and good muting of ringing open strings, I noticed that the note recognition improved when I started to use RS-ASIO. Low latency helps.

Thanks Anwyn. I'll give that a try.

I'll try recalibrating and see how it goes. I feel like my tapping is decent enough to where there shouldn't be 20+ misses, even at slower speeds, but that is a good point and another thing for me to check out. Thanks meelo.

Let's start!

20201108121945-1.jpg

This Garry Moore song is not particularly difficult. Unfortunately, I have a guitar with 22 frets, with regular strings now, so part with bends on high frets I play with low accuracy 😞

The verses are not too hard, but the solo parts come up to the masterclass level. I think it could be 8. However, this song sounds pretty good.

And this could be 9, but ok.
