  6. Hello everyone I finally got 99% on a track, advanced even! Really freaking proud of this one and my progress so far Also happy with my score on Eddie after a while on riff repeater. Such a fun/pretty song to play and interesting new tapping techniques for me - tapping while bending a note for example

  11. I was SO close to 100% my first intermediate song. I choked on the very LAST chord Also, gave the advanced song a shot. Plesantly surprised, it's a fun song to play and I like it! Just need to learn it better

  14. Scores from testing. Lead. Nice easy song. I am glad that the participants of the championship add such songs to the selection, because in the past there were not many proposals for beginners. My CDLC, and a very nice and not too difficult song to play. I hope you like this. Ok, I see @ avastreg opinion regarding the advanced and masterclass. For me, level of difficulty in these 2 songs is very close. But I just like the style and chart more like the Greteful Dead song, so I might not be entirely objective. If I get more feedback in the near future, I might consider a swap. Let's remember, however, that we rate diff mainly by the most difficult part of the song, and solo in the Flotsam And Jetsam song is in my opinion more difficult than solos in the Grateful Dead song.

  15. The scroll speed seems kinda off with this, I think the bpm should be doubled or something? Quite fun on gui too tho.

  16. adv and mc are definitely too hard for me to learn right now. I might try to learn a ~6ish song from past weeks instead

  17. Until now, I was using emulated bass on my guitar to play bass paths... And now... I got myself my first ever brand new bass... That is sooo much different... I was trying to play with fingers at first, but I can see it will take a long time to get use to it... However, advanced bass played on emulated guitar as my brand new bass doesn't have that many frets

  19. I'm back! Lovely photos of Salzburg @ Rodman , I've not been to that part of Austria. We were at Lake Maggiore in northern Italy, and then some time sightseeing in London where they had unusually beautiful weather in the past week. Now back to the grind...and the Championship Ridiculously simple funk bass part but it is catchy: Not a big fan of Hagar, this song is cringy IMO but it was reasonably okay to play: Glad to see Fugazi get some CS exposure. For those that don't know, they are from my neck of the woods (Washington DC) and are maybe the defining 80s-90s band in terms of hardcore music and ethos (ie, true indie). They were hugely influential both musically and in the fight against the soulless corporate/mainstream music industry. This one is a fun challenge: And one of my favorites from the Chili Peppers' most recent album, I'm glad this was in the Championship as it gave me motivation to finish it...it's such a challenge that I'd given up on it a few times previously. Now I've managed to power through it and top 90% which I feel is a significant accomplishment

  21. Happy new week to everyone! Sadly for me, this is another week with a huge jump in difficulty between the intermediate and advanced categories There's no way I can learn the advanced song in a week I might look into the Rhythm versions and try to learn one of those or just work on some other songs like last week

  27. CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT!!! YEAH!! I haven't played this game, but I like and enjoy playing "Wander". I feel like is kind of unlocking some memories from my childhood or something! Just sharing random thoughts but... I recently saw a movie called "Tar" about a very famous and authoritarian female director of the Berlin Philarmonic, who falls from grace and her tragic finale is that she ends up conducting the score for the video game series Monster Hunter in front of an audience of cosplayers in the Philippines. That is portrayed as falling low for this conductor... but I thought to myself "I think those gameplayers actually care a lot about the music!" As a child, I remember having CDs of game music (like Dragonquest) played by an orchestra.... Anyway.... This is not my type of music, but very fun to play! Metal from Northern Europe, yeah!!!

  29. WEEK 514 YEAAHHHH!!!! Excited to join again the World Wide Championship! Thanks @ Rodman for another great week! It is the second time I have been promoted to masterclass in bass, so I will accept the challenge!!! I will enjoy the flavor of last week's win in advance bass, because I won't be able to win from now on in two or three years, I think.... Besides that, I don't feel I am in masterclass, since I suck at slapping! I barely can do level two of this: Anyway... I am happy that my first MC Bass challenge is a Muse song, which I am a big fan of. I practiced for a while and was surprised to get more than 90%, even though the excecution was a bit mediocre... Will keep trying!!!

  30. Trying intermediate since it was lower rated, and I was too lazy to retune my guitar. When I first heard this, I was like man whoever wrote this totally copied Runescape. Low and behold! It was actually fun to play with the string crossings/alternate picking, something I'm very bad at. I see you fellow Runescape fan. That game had a grip on my middle school experience. Now I just watch people play on youtube every now and then so I can spend my freetime practicing guitar instead of grinding

  33. Very interesting and cool that one of my psarcs made it into the competition, thanks!! I would've never expected that. The Ian taylor songs are from a multiplayer / role player online game called runescape that i used to play alot as a teenager ( kind of like world of warcraft + skyrim..but worse graphics..and that being said ive never played those 2 but i think that gives an idea of what it is) . It might be a niche thing,..i spent months or i guess really years on that game (back when it was extremely grindy, so much so that it could be a job in some countries, now theres double exp weekends so its not as bad but still more than your average game) so the songs in there are ingrained in my brain and bring alot of nostalgia. Surprisingly enough when i have travelled around the world I somehow manage to meet people that have played it, so thats always nice. about the psarc : i must admit the bass going up an octave kinda tricky...(mostly cause the part is supposed to be on a synth) maybe i shouldve put an oct pedal instead... i did tab the rhythm path a bit awkwardly..theres definately easier ways to play it (or atleast for an initial sight read) lead ive 100 before but maybe it could be changed aswell. I didn't move my pc with me unfortunately only kept my 12 year old mac. I tried to fix it with this computer, cause i want to, but havent had much luck since its kind of outdated and rs charter (mac) is relatively new/still in development. but yea just thought i should mention it.
