For some reason i get a nostalgic feeling in some parts of the song, all i can remember is a song around 2005 or something like that sounded similar to the filter parts right before the chorus. All they did is improved their own game with what they know was possible considering their own DLC standard of quality. Sadly CDLC don't have this standard and many issue arise because of this like the camera issue that is linked to the lack of section or the play count not counting properly due to the lack of DD. And the 100% bug is 100% the fault of how chord were counted during the creation of the CDLC inside the toolkit that was different to how it is done inside DLC. Those issue weren't meant to arise by Ubisoft SF. You wanna blame them, fine but please find actual fact that would back up your claim first before going all out with accusation.

  15. Be sure to run the CLI once by itself and read the full help message. The CLI has been fully tested and is working as expected. Bug reports are welcomed. If you can't get the CLI to work then re-read and follow these instructions. If you still can't get the CLI to work, then wait for next release of CFSM which will include a GUI for the CLI. Always make a backup copy of your CDLC files before ever running them through any CLI. The latest beta version of the toolkit includes an UPDATED CLI (Command Line Interface) DropletApp for bulk remastering of CDLC for use with Rocksmith 2014 Remastered (RS14R). Basic CLI Usage (remastered.exe) for CDLC that have been played in RS14R and the song stat has changed to 100%: 1) The 'remastered.exe' file is located inside of the toolkit root folder. NOTE: The CLI is dependent on the toolkit so it must be run from (remain) inside the toolkit root folder. 2) Double click the apps icon to start the app and read the help screen. 3) Close the app by clicking on the 'X' in upper right hand corner of the Windows command window. Now for some fun! But first, did you take time to read the CLI help message (see Step 2). 4) Drag and drop a CDLC file or a folder containing CDLC onto the application icon. (Start small with one ore two CDLC files until you get the hang of the CLI application.) 5) Go get some coffee while magic happens, unless you feel like watching the feedback. 6) The CLI creates 'REMASTERED_CLI' subfolder in 'My Documents' folder. This subfolder is used to store the 'remastered_error.log' and (.cor) and (.org) CDLC files. The log file contains the file paths and error messages for any files that could not be remastered. 7) Be sure to remove any CDLC that has file extension (.org) or (.cor) from the 'dlc' folder (this is a VERY important step) The new version of remastered.exe CLI automatically removes/cleans the CDLC source folder. 8) Test and report bugs. "I can't get it to work" is not a bug. This version of remastered.exe offers several command line switches [option]: - Added option [-org] to remastered.exe CLI to permit renamed (.org) CDLC to be repaired by new CLI. - Added option [-pre] to remastered.exe CLI to preserve Arrangement Identification (song stats) - Added option [-ren] to remastered.exe CLI to quickly rename (.org) files to (.psarc) files - Added option [-log] to remastered.exe CLI to specify a customize path for the 'remastered_errror.log' - Added option [-sil] to remastered.exe CLI to run in silent mode so Command Window will close when finished. There are five new batch files included in the toolkit root directory which may be used to access remastered.exe command line options for bulk CDLC remastering using drag/drop: remastered.exe -pre.bat -- Preserve song stats for CDLC that have never been played in RS14R. remastered.exe -org.bat -- Remasters CDLC that have already been remastered (has file extension .org) remastered.exe -org -pre.bat -- A combination of the above (only works for songs that have never been played in RS14R). remastered.exe -ren.bat -- Renames CDLC that have file extension (.org) back to (.psarc) remastered.exe.bat -- Remasters CDLC that have been played in RS14R and the song stat has changed to 100% Batch File Usage (remastered.exe [option].bat) 1) Locate the batch files inside of the toolkit root folder. 2) Select (highlight) all of the 'remastered.exe [option].bat' batch files 3) Hold down the ALT-key and drag and drop the batch file shortcuts to anywhere you'd like, e.g. the desktop. 4) Locate the CDLC files and directories that you want to remaster. 5) Now drag and drop the CDLC files and directories onto the appropriate batch file shortcut. 6) Go get some coffee while CDLC are processed. 7) Be sure to remove any CDLC that has file extension (.org) or (.cor) from the 'dlc' folder (this is a VERY important step) 8) Test and report bugs. "I can't get it to work" is not a bug. NOTE: For very large CDLC collections ... user reports that multiple copies of the remastered.exe CLI may be run at the same time to reduce the time it takes to remaster an entire CDLC collection. Just split the large CDLC collection into separate root folders and drag each root folder to a new instances of the CLI executable or batch file. EzPeeZ ... Enjoy!

  22. Is seems to me that the issue with the 100% mastery bug has shown a deficiency in understanding on the part of the community over the correct structure of DLC. This is an opportunity to improve the creation tools and make future CDLC better than in the past. Most existing CDLC still works in that it can be played. Most of them actualy work pretty well, only a few are broken and the 100% bug isn't a show stopper for most people. And there is a pretty decent fix for that now if you can be bothered. I would have lost interest in RS long ago if not for this community. I think you all rock and I'd like to thank all the programmers and charters who make this possible. You are as gods who stalk the earth. Full disclosure. I play exclusively BASS and haven't experienced the 100% bug personally. The only issue I have is the inability to riff repeat songs without sections and that is down to a change in the new riff repeater affecting less well made CDLC. I'd still rather have the imperfect CDLC than it not be there. At least if it exists it might get fixed or I might even take the time to learn to do it myself if I care enough about a particular song. Anyone can do this with a bit of effort so I don't understand the moaning and complaining. The only real issue left from the REMASTERED update is that it has shown up the deficiencies of some CDLC. The tools have been updated to allow most of these problems to be fixed almost automatically and the remaining issues can be fixed by re-authoring the CDLC. We should celebrate these guys and the RS creators for allowing the CDLC community to exist. I'm sure they could make life very awkward for us if they really wanted to so kudos to them for tolerating us.

"I can't get it to work" is not a bug. Alternate usage to preserve song stats ... For CDLC that have never been played in Rocksmith 2014 Remastered you do not have to do Step 3, and should not assign a new "Arrangement Identification" in Step 4. 27. Hi! First of all thanks a lot for your fast work on the tools to fix all the remastered issues! I've been using the Remastered CLI tool this morning to fix all my CDLC and most didn't give any errors, but some others did. Is there a way to know which ones failed without taking notes every time you see one? The CLI window doesn't show all the text from the execution, only the last X lines, so you would need to be paying attention and take notes during execution. Maybe output the errors to a txt file? Again, thanks for your work!

I'm gonna throw this in here One of the best aspects of RS is forces the beginner to explore the entire fret board And learn to use barred chords Which alot of beginners and intermediate players never get around to Also playing full song arrangements rather than dumbed down beginner versions Gives the RS player a fuller understanding of why scales are useful

  30. @RufusDelta Ubisoft is a profit making Cie, and as such they have to pay the artist's labels to release an oDLC. Customsforge is a non-profit site for educational purposes, and there can be no official relation with Ubisoft. By supporting Customsforge in any way, they would be considered bypassing copyright. Ubisoft never mentions the existence of cDLCs or Customsforge. (but I'm happy they inserted my idea of video player buttons in RR) They will never care if cDLC will work with an update or not. Even if they perfectly know RS2014 selling numbers are boosted by cDLC, legally they can never admit it. To release cDLC you should also know that copyright still exists. The charter and the player must legally own the song they chart, download, and play as a cDLC

  31. Great week ahead (not only because of songs  ). When Worlds Collide - THPS 2 classic! You know, back in the days before Guitar Hero, it was Tony Hawk games that had the best soundtrack and here is a song from that legendary 2nd installment in the series. Kinda fast, but doable for beginners. Future Retro - great surprise, fun electric track, with that 8-bit feel to it. When I was little there was Jean-Michel Jarre coming from speakers, and Future Retro not only sounds nice, but is very fun to play to. Train of Consequences - Megadeth and Metallica the same week! And Megadeth's song is better :o My favorite song from that band, so that explains a lot :D Bass is in Bb but I was able to tune down there with my 4-string  It's not really difficult, but my G string wouldn't accept any lower tunings :D Moth Into Flame - newest Metallica track, in my opinion much better then Hardwired, but, well, 80s are gone :( and 2008 too :P Heretics & Killers - as explained we had it selected once, but RR was not working, and we couldn't get it fixed in time. It was a while ago, I'm surprised that it took me so long to bring it back, especially since I liked that madness and always wanted to see you try it + bass has some fun moments (like a wild slap part) but overall is not that crazy.

  32. Ive tried to learn guitar for 20 years, without much luck. I could fret chords and play a few progressions but nothing to really force myself to push. Last October I bought Rocksmith and discovered Customsforge, in the last year my playing has progressed well beyond the last 20 years. Today Ive logged over 350 hours in Rocksmith. I don't just play songs, I also play the technique challenges and the guitarcade games. Since the update RS seems to have a slight lag issue displaywise as songs I had 90% or higher playing I seem to be missing notes. Although what I hear is me hitting notes in time with the tune. Stick with it and keep it fun, you will get more from it. If I look back over my life and the countless hours I spent playing games, rs is the only one that devoting time to it produces something tangible.

  33. this may not be completely relevant to the first question, but i for one really enjoy the rocksmith experience. i have a shelf of music/tab that i mess with from time to time, and i too check out justin and the other youtubers offering online instruction. the biggest thing i find with RS is that it's ready when i am. i don't have to search for videos or dig out tab. it seems my schedule any more is a few minutes here and there, with the only block of time later in the evening when everyone else in the house is going to bed. i can plug in the earplugs and hammer away. i also like the ability to see feedback on my playing. i've come to the realization that i may never be able to play on my own, so i try to enjoy every minute i get to play at all. kinda like life in general, you can go through fighting it or enjoying it, all in how you look at it. i do know after being on this site for a while there is a ton of talent out there. makes me wish i was better, but also pushes me to try harder.

  38. Quick update, Lesson schedule fizzled out to make was for other things. Recently seeing my niece who had a guitar bought for her 2 years ago, pick it up the last few months has motivated me. With her basic chords she rattles through rhythm on songs and made me realise keeping it basic will help. I am concentrating on Rhythm path finding song with basic chords and to be honest i have notice a good amount of progress. Strumming patterns that are not covered in RS have been found on YT and started to up my percentages. The last post is spot on enjoy it and it does not feel like practice. I am enjoying my time at the moment, and not getting stressed if I have not had 20 mins lately on the guitar. The "remastered" issues did hinder me at first and I hate not having my RS1 content as i missed the steam pack but never mind I will just have to dust off my ps3 when i want it.

  40. Everyone does not learn and progress in the same way so with that said this is what helped me. 1. Finding easier songs in Rocksmith that are in my reach (beginner level) to earn a gold pick. The gold pick on a song in Hard Score Attack is my goal and 100% is my ultimate goal so that gave me motivation. I have to at least like a song to want to play it. If I love a song that's even better. I love Satisfaction so it was fun (not work) to sit down in riff repeater for hours to learn it because I love the song. I started out slow on the solos and slowly played them faster until I got to 100%. Also that song is is at my current skill level. I'd love to play Highway Star but it is out of my reach. My renditions are not great, but I do enjoy playing and over time I've gotten better. So... set a goal that is achievable, then when you reach it set another goal. It sounds dumb but I felt great when I finally got a gold pick on 7-nation army rhythm path. That is a super easy song but it was a milestone for me. I was off to the races after that. See the link in my signature if you want to see videos of easy RS songs. 2. Use video teachers on you tube. There are a lot of good ones. If you need help with finger placement for a solo or something look there. If you need help with a technique look there. I've never used a real live teacher. It may help I've just never done it. I am 100% taught by RS and free youtube lessons. 3. You will play more if you enjoy it. I enjoy learning new songs so once I learn one I will play it again but not probably every day (exception "Satisfaction"). If you hate your time with the guitar you will do other things with your time. If you love your time with the guitar you will find time to play. I don't "practice" per se, I learn new songs and play ones I know. Perhaps I am not advancing as fast as I could with a real "practice schedule" and a teacher led method but I am having fun. If I hated time with guitar I would not get better since I'd avoid it. 4. What is your goal? Mine is to have fun and learn new songs. If you want to play in a band or play professionally you are going to need to map out a plan. Steve Vai did that and practiced 10 hurs a day because he loved to it. He said it was not practice to him because he loved it. I would hate his 10 hour schedule but good for him. He found his love and set his goals and achieved them. Good luck!

  41. I have to change between rocksmith, YouTube, tabs, and even the sheet music i have in some cases. Some times the place on the neck where the dlc has placed it is not optimal for me. Also some have mistakes(going to happen just the nature of things) If you are trying to put the song in memory you need to find out what works best. If needed I will use the riff repeater then go to my iTunes or YouTube and play with the section(s)of the song. It is not a catch all but I do like the program. I was always critical of rockband and guitar hero. I saw so many kids playing those games for hours. To quote a south park character "If they spent as much times on real instruments as they do on that game, who knows how good they would be" Rocksmith is a nice progression from those games to a teaching platform.

  42. Yeah, I get this a lot. "Why am I doing this? I'm not getting anywhere. This is a waste of time ..." Four things I do ... Grab my guitar (I'm a bass player) and tinker with it. I am a lousy guitar player but it often will get me unstuck. If nothing else, being able to reach 6-7 frets at a time feels great. Play my fretless for an hour or so. It's different enough with having to focus so much on intonation that it can make a regular bass feel totally new again. Walk scales for a while. Cmaj, Dmaj, Fmaj, etc. On guitar I suppose this would be progressions, but being a bass player, I'm not entirely sure. Lastly, when I'm really sick of it all, I just play for a while. Pick out songs I'm at 95%+ on and play to enjoy playing. Sometimes I'll even get a little itty bitty bit closer to to FC. I've even hit it a couple of times. Go me! My rule, practice every day. Even if it's just pulling an instrument down and twiddling for half an hour on a song I'm trying to transcribe or get completely locked in my head. Once you get past the beginner stages, it's really difficult to see progress. But its there, and doing different things can often really help. Check out some of the master classes from Guitar Center that have been posted or study your favorite artist in concert. Even better, play with some different styles and techniques. Learn to read music, for example, if you don't already know how. Experiment with learning to create music. Do something different just to keep it fresh.

  43. Gonna have to say this here: if you're looking into things to help you enjoy the practice more, I'd reevaluate what you're doing and why. Standing is the norm for gigs, as can be 2-3+ hour gigs where you get a 20 minute set break once, maybe twice if you're lucky, and that's spent sitting down, having a drink, wiping off the sweat and checking the instruments backstage before you go back on. As for the rest, it's already been said, but bears repeating: if you're not having fun practicing, you're not likely to practice. Stoning out only hurts you when playing (I know, used to be a stoner myself, seriously screwed up my retention and technique, such that I'm still trying to learn the things I missed as a result after close to 20 years beyond it), caffeine/alcohol, that really depends on the person. If you're playing and don't find what you're playing to be enjoyable, might want to look into playing another instrument, or maybe you're just not really an instrument person. I've known folks like that: love the whole concept of playing, but don't enjoy it, no matter what they play, or what instrument they try, not realizing that not everyone is gonna be the type who ever clicks with an instrument. You could look into vocals as an option, but know going in that that's even harder work and more painful exercise overall than playing an instrument. If nothing else, definitely try types of music that you wouldn't necessarily consider playing or enjoying if you did. Thing that I saw in my own life and playing/gigging: guy I know listens to metal, rock, rap and punk; his actual gigs, the ones where he does the best and actually has the most fun, are playing blues, jazz and country. He doesn't understand it, because he doesn't like listening to those types of music, but he has the best overall experience as a musician playing them, so he plays them, and I think he's beginning to enjoy some of the stuff from those genres.

He sounds like a serious enthusiast which differs from those likely to go on a spree, he is also aware of his issue as such I'm sure the last thing he does is touch a firearm when in that state. Shooting is relaxing, requires concentration and attention to what you are doing as well as fantastic muscle control. It's an excellent sport both mentally and physically. You are correct about building your own weapons they don't have to be registered or have serial, though local laws will differ state to state jurisdiction to jurisdiction, so make sure to check your local laws before you start building. I'm looking at getting some 80% lowers.
