I intended to actually spend some time practicing songs this week, but had some job-related frustrations (nothing too serious) and then got sick. I played MC Bass once earlier but haven't gone back to it with all that happening, and now I don't think I'll get around to it. So, I'll just post that now to keep my diehard streak up: Looking forward to your remastered version @@Nacholede -- again I don't think I'll get time this week but I'm also a big fan of the Justice album so it will be awesome to check out your versions of the songs in the future. Hello everybody, it's been some time since I last posted a score. RL decided to dump a bunch of serious problems all at once, time to play the guitar/bass has been almost zero, much less time to check the forum. This week the BG song is from a Portuguese band, so I had to manage some free time to play it. Took me till today, but I managed to make some runs on almost all songs.... also, 2 weeks ago the hole of the nut of the low E string of my gio broke.... that's what happens when installing a E string with .056 gauge, when until that time, all E strings that were installed on that guitar were always 0.46.... needless to say that I didn't enlarged the small cavity where the string passes on the nut, so when I started tighten the string, just a bit before it was on pitch, the left side of the small cavity on the nut just popped out with such force, that I couldn't find it anywhere around the place I was restringing the guitar till this day.... the snap was really loud and fast, like "The Flash". Anyway, I have a new nut, but it was bought on a local shop, and for a change the shop didn't had what I needed, so I had to buy one much "taller" in height and thicker in length, only the width is correct, so I need to file it down, but I'm waiting for a friend to lend me the proper tools, so since 2 weeks ago I can't play any song (on guitar) that's not in E Standard. I hope to get this damn RL problems solved a.s.a.p., so I can start playing again like I used to. And now a few scores.... @@Rodman Hybrids are thinier on high strings and thicker on low strings. Example: .09-.46 - .09,.11,.16 and .26,.36,.46. So it's mix of .09-.42 at high strings and .10-.46 at low strings. It allows for tune to drop tunings, still having thin strings at high, for easier bends. There is also .10-.52's for even lower tunings. You want to play Supremacy by Muse? Hybrid strings are your best friend.3 points

Wow, really hard songs this week for beginners lead! I'd probably put both Xutos and Nirvana in Intermediate with Nirvana just getting a very slight edge in difficulty. I love the Nirvana lead though and will practice more on it. The bass line is super repetitive and feels like a RSI waiting to happen, so maybe just one try. ;) I almost do better (and it seems more fun to play) with a capo on the first fret. Just my brain doesn't like to think about alternate ways to play A and E when I see them pop up. ;) http://i.imgur.com/vrFg9aLl.jpg3 points

I'm still playing the old version from Bernixix, for me it's a good one, no wrong parts nor deviation compared with music. Just many tiny details to consider. As long as in Nachos version are still parts not correct (I didn't test) I will stay with this version, really no matter to change , I'm close behind you, Nacho, watch out http://fs2.directupload.net/images/150404/6zlpf3no.jpg2 points

Going to post my scores in a little bit. Missed last week because I thought it ended/switched on Mondays >< Whoops. Quick question: Alot of these songs i'm getting in the 90's but whats holding me from getting high 90's is ALWAYS the solo's. I feel like i'm a great guitar player (Not terrible) but every song has the ONE part (mostly the solos) that I just completely wiff. Whats a good way to learn to tackle these solo's?? for example ...And Justice For All. That song is fun/easy to play until I hit the solo. Then it's like they amped up the difficulty level x10 for like a 30 second solo. Ugh ><2 points

I personally prefer hybrid strings, sitting on .09-.46 now. I wanted .10-.52 (well, I felt that I have that strings, or similiar, as I had no problems in B tuning). When I compared the strings, it turned out that I had more similiar to my current (when I was buying guitar I had no idea that strings gauge is important  , so I didn't write that info down). My Jackson is good enough for Rocksmith to get recognition in C with thin strings, so I'm not going to change them. After that key broke in my hand while tuning, for few days I had constant feeling that I'm tuning string and key is starting to break. 1st tunings after replacement of keys were traumatizing, and it was just few weeks ago when I tuned to You Really Got Me tuning after that accident (I played that song many times prior to that). ATTENZIONE: Tomorrow week will start 1h earlier. So keep that mind posting final scores.2 points

Welcome fellow Slipknot fans! Green = CDLC is available and is on the list. Red = CDLC is not yet available. Pink = CDLC is in the making. Pink + * = CDLC is completed and waiting for upload. Pink + * = CDLC is on hold. Yellow = CDLC is available but has not been approved by me (i.e. I won't link it) This is a place where you can locate all of my/other people's Slipknot CDLC and there will be lots of them. So, what's my aim? Well I am aiming to cover 5 of the current Slipknot albums, which are: 1. Slipknot 2. IOWA 3. Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) 4. All Hope is Gone 5. .5: The Gray Chapter The plan is to include Bass in ALL of the DLC (if not all then most) and of course atleast 1 guitar part, which will most likely be Lead. It will contain all of my Slipknot CDLC and if you want your CDLC on the list, just contact me. If I feel your CDLC is good enough then will add it to the list. Hello Everyone, I don't usually post on these forums. Recently I revisited the idea of porting or cloning Rocksmith 2014 on Linux as Ubisoft have declared they won't be porting the game. I started at the GuitarSmith forums http://sourceforge.net/projects/guitarsmithand quickly found a C++ build of Frets on Fire. I have taken this version of the code and quickly implemented changes that allow it to render the notes in a way that's closer to Rocksmith. It's by no means finished yet, I'm still implementing the neck of the guitar and the full fret range. I am willing to share all of my code with anyone who wants it and am happy to put effort into it if there are other interested programmers. The code is currently known to run on Windows/Linux and should run on Mac but it hasn't been tested there. Based on Frets on Fire this engine should be simple to modify to at least use the Rocksmith projects made in Editor on Fire, and of course can currently use the Frets on Fire content. I am hoping to shatter the limitations of Rocksmith and add in (at least) 4 - 8 string guitar support if someone would like to add more guitars/instruments they would be welcome. I would love to add support for the Rocksmith CDLC. Now the cool/hard part: On the GuitarSmith forums someone has posted up the code for a JAVA based audio recognition engine which can process guitar notes and confirm if the correct note was played or not. I'd like help porting this from JAVA to C++ and creating the note samples. Included is a screenshot of my current progress to hopefully inspire people.1 point

@@Goofiestbee Best way to get better with solos, is to start practicing them starting with easy solos. This week Nirvana's is not hard. One of the easiest I ever played was Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jet. Solo is at the end and is really easy. "Solos" from Metric's Sick Muse and Black Sheep are cakewalk, so you wouldn't learn much from that.1 point

@@Berneer I suggest to do it the same way officials DLC work, put the starting note with no sustain and let everyone choose wether or not they can/want to play it. The big problem i have with using pre-bend and release is that there is no indication telling you that you should use the whammy bar on this one note and not and the other one with the same technique but where the whammy bar isn't used. Overall, Rocksmith doesn't have any way to clearly notate this specific technique (the main reason being that not every guitar have a whammy bar) so using other clearly define technique for something else than what they are designed for in the first place can be confusing for any player and even more for beginner that doesn't know what a whammy bar will sound like. Those beginner will probably tried to play the technique display and won't think a minute that they had to used the whammy bar (that they might not have).1 point

There is a workaround to mimicking "negative bend strengths" if you start with a pre-bend and release. Perhaps more cool to play that than to put a sustain hoping the player will clue in to your intention and receive needless comments that your custom chart is inaccurate... Just my opinion. I know when I chart I try to think, what is going to give someone goosebumps that (s)he's sounding like the real thing.1 point

Hi, folks. The latest hotfix (r1382) is in the first post. Changes are as follows: *Added the SHIFT+W keyboard shortcut to Song>Catalog>Add. *Fixed a GP import bug where tie notes that begin at different positions and overlap each other can end up using incorrect fret values. *Fixed a bug with Bandfuse import where down slides had the wrong end of slide position set. *Improved fixup logic so that when two sliding notes merge into a chord, the pitched/unpitched slide end position of the one using the lowest string is kept. *Added initial Bandfuse XML export logic. *Improved BF import to support up to 1000 tempo changes in a RIFF file. *Improved BF import to support lyric lines. *Improved RS import to take the capo into account when processing anchors. *Improved EOF to accept Bandfuse files (.rif) over the command line for import. *Removed the restriction that disallowed the File>Redraw and "File>Set display width" functions to be used from the menu. *Added the ability to import a Rocksmith XML file via the command line. EOF will prompt which pro guitar/bass track to import the content to. *Fixed memory leaks in Rocksmith import and musical MIDI export. Until I get a formal user preference for enabling Bandfuse export, you can manually have it create and Bandfuse XML file by pressing the pause key.1 point
