  14. Like @@then3verend a couple of weeks ago, I've fallen victim to excitedly taking my screenshot before the score has settled. Alas, the true score was not 345,678,912 but 375,787. http://i.imgur.com/Lc4roZ4.jpg Also, while playing around with the outro, I found out that slides do pretty well, especially for the beginning part that has a lot of 0-1-2-3-2-1-0 repeats. Using slides earlier I was able to get through the outro at 100% speed with only 17 misses. Unfortunately I didn't fare that well this time, as watching the video (I can upload if people want) I had around 40 misses there. Probably the difference between the current score (which will probably just motivate people to kick my ass) and a score good enough to discourage people from bothering to unseat me. I'll Score Attack a few more times and try to get lucky with all of the tapping sections and the outro in a single take. Hopefully I won't be up all night. Edit: Lots of tries between 90 and 91%, and I think one a little bit above 91%, but no improvements. I'm going to go play Circumstances now, because I'm addicted to that Rush.

Thanks for the welcome! :) I've been playing for hours on end though for the last 2 weeks.... lol My family had a music shop when I was younger I tried every instrument but mastered nothing.... I'm a businessman now and my sister is the one who sorta continued the family's musicality. I played the bass for a bit in high school and hung out with some popular local bands here in my country but I sucked.... I was just good at fiddling and pretending to be good.... never really finished a whole song before. Until rocksmith.... This game is a God send.

  16. When I started with GP I actually had not much of a clue what I was doing but I just tried out all the functions, started to work on some actual songs and with some time and patience I figured out all the things that one needs. Even after you worked with it for a while you will still find new things that you didn't even know GP was capable of. ;) So, all I can tell you: fuck tutorials and just start using it. Practice makes perfect as they say and you can't get familiar with a software just from looking at some tutorials, so there's seldom a better way to learn something other than just using it actively and with a specific purpose. Even if your music theory skills are not that great (mine weren't when I started) you will slowly get the hang of it and actually start understanding it from a practical perspective. Look at well made GP tabs from UG and try to see how things are set up there. Play around with those files and you'll definitely learn from that.

  32. Hi everyone, My musically spectrum includes a wide bunch of stylistics. Favoured styles are Funk, Blues, Ska, Reggae, of course Rock, kinds of Metal and fusions of all. Only thing is it have to be good :D. Also my favourite bands are a little bit special and kinda weird like Primus, Fishbone or King Crimson, and almost there are no tabs around, at least no useable, so I usually write them by myself almost by ear. But this process needs much time and is lot of work depending of the song's complexity, so do not wonder if it takes long time sometimes untill my next custom is released. But those who know any of my customs will know it is worth because they've got high accuracy tabs and in the end tey are high quality customs. Finished old stuff : Sniff 'n the Tears - Driver's Seat Shocking Blue - Venus King Crimson - 21st Century Schizoid Man Fishbone - Party At Ground Zero Bad Brains - Stay Close To Me Billy Cobham - Red Baron Fishbone - Cholly complete list of all my released customs actually working on Billy Cobham - Stratus - status: still writing the tab with long rests between work  planned: more Fishbone, King Crimson, Primus, Ninos Con Bombas, Paulo Mendonca, Supergroove, Mr Bungle...

  43. Figured I'd add my story here. My brother, who's three years older than me, started playing guitar in middle school and taking it more seriously in high school. We share a similar taste in music and eventually thought it would be fun to try to play things together, so I started playing when I was... I don't know exactly, probably 12 or so. I kept up playing through my graduation from high school, but never joined any bands or anything, and stopped when I got to college. Then I didn't really play at all through college, or the first few years of grad school. I had lent my brother my bass in the meantime, and sometime last year I went about taking it back, and picking my amp up from my parents, though I still didn't play a ton. This winter was pretty terrible in the northeast USA, so since I couldn't spend as much time outside indulging in my other hobbies I started playing the bass again more regularly. I started looking into a new bass to get, and ended up deciding on a 6-string (another thought was a fretless, but that would probably have been a disaster with my fretting hand and ear. It might have also served to make me much better on those skills, but I figured in the short term it was more likely to discourage me from playing rather than encourage me. I'll probably still try out a fretless at some point in the future). Once I'd started playing more regularly and getting back into bass "culture" a bit more, I heard about Rocksmith, and started learning about it, and thought it would be a great way to encourage still more playing, and also probably encourage more focused practice and a more diverse set of things I'd try to learn. While researching I eventually heard about CDLC and found this place and have been here ever since. Thanks for creating such a welcoming community that unites players from all over the world!

  44. @@joe21121 you can see in my last video that i have the snare on the 4th fret on either the A, D or G strings and the hit hat is on the 5 fret on the B or E strings. I used the whole pro drums kit in both video and i try to push it as far as i can imagine. If i limit myself with only 6 strings without using the fret, it would be impossible to even introduce the smallest electronic drum kit correctly and reading a bunch of open note is harder seems like a lot of pain in complicated part to be honest. @@Rockfirstlast I wouldn't wait on RB4 since they get rid of the "pro" part which included the 3 cymbals on the drum kit which makes a lot of difference when it comes to realism.

  45. This is the last test i've done which is in sync and works prety well (the chart isn't 100% correct though but that's another issue) I'm the one doing those videos and i still need to do a "how to" video that will come one day "soon". @@ZordonFreeman : Yes it can work with any electric drum kit as long as you are able to have a midi signal which every single electric drum kit have i believe (i used the Rock band drum kit only because that's the only one i have on my hand). I don't think it will ever be possible to do that with any kind of acoustic drum kit for one simple reason is that Rocksmith looks for a clearly defined pitch that an acoustic drum kit can't create as far as i know. @@joe21121 : you don't need that much strings, having a string by element is the wrong way to go for multiple reason and mostly because you can't have more than 3 element to play at the same time (4 if you consider that you use 2 pedal). The way i do it i have the lowest strings as the kick, then 3 strings for the toms and 2 strings for the cymbals, with that combination unless you need 2 pedals at the same time you can chart anything since you have 24 fret to indicate which tome/cymbals/pedal you use at one given time. If you absolutely want to use 2 pedal at the same time you can always do 2/2/2 strings for pedal/tom/cymbal and you can chart anything with that.

  47. Yeah, currently if you download a challenging song, it's very likely going to be unfinished or just really badly done. It's a kinda sad state of affairs; we have this awesome site but users are discouraged to search for new stuff because everyone knows they're digging through a huge mountain of poop to find that gem or two. Not blaming anyone here, it's just the way things are – it's the same in sites that host guitar tabs. Now I suppose we have a consensus on two things: 1) Rating systems come with all sorts of issues 2) Moderation is too much hard work So my suggestion is: put up a section where (some) mods have hand-picked some really good customs. The important point is, it doesn't have to be fair. It doesn't have to include every good custom. It's only important that it doesn't include bad ones. No one has to work their assess off being the judges. Just add a song whenever you feel like it. Or you could make it a weekly thing. Or whatever. Then that part of the site would have some decent content, like if I download a custom from there, I can trust it has correct notes and decent tones. And if not then I can complain and get it out of there. It'd be awesome for discovering previously unknown songs to play, too. The rest of the site could be just as it is now. No one would have to feel bad. And the rest of the site could still be used to find (and improve?) customs on your favourite bands/tracks.

  48. If you want to test out your bass parts but don't have a bass guitar, you could always try the "emulate bass" option. It allows you to play the bass parts using a regular 6 string guitar. It doesn't sound nearly as good as a real bass but at least it would give you an idea on how accurate the part is before you release it. Personally it bugs me a bit when bass parts are obviously wrong but I wouldn't ever complain about it. If anything I'd offer suggestions. Those who complain and post negatively are simply ungrateful. And yes, never trust the bass tabs you find online. They are never right.

  49. I got an acoustic Guitar as christmas present from my wife when I was 29 years old. Now I am 31 years old. I Didn't find any good books or structured way of learning the guitar online that I liked before I discovered justinguitar.com . I have been following justinguitar on and off for 2 years. Sometimes it was hard to keep motivation up and I had periods where I played everyday and other times when I didn't play at all for 3-4 months. I'm at beginner course stage 6 now. I have tendencies to quit or give up things I start with after a while, so I'm glad that I have still stuck with it. I always wanted to try out rocksmith 2014 but didn't have a electric guitar. 1 month ago I bougth a cheap electric guitar and got rocksmith right away. It is a fun way to practise and keep motivation and it compliments justinguitar in some way. I just heard about the championship and it sounds like a good idea for keeping motivation and getting better.
