A comment about the bass ratings:  The difficulty of Dokken is pretty uniform throughout, no parts are particularly harder or easier, but it is fairly fast and unrelenting, and so 7 seems to be a good score.  Although most of Porcupine Tree probably cruises in below a 7, there are some shorter more difficult parts that are well above a 7 if ranked separately.    The question is whether the overall ranking depends more on the average difficulty, or the peak difficulty.    If peak difficulty is a factor, which I think it should be, then I don't think Porcupine Tree should be below 7.   Finally, and maybe this is just me, but I thought the recent Baha Men song was almost as difficult as Bustin, and the two are in very different categories. 

Another song that's not supposed to be too difficult  but is giving me much trouble is Monster Mash -  still my lowest bass score this week and I can't seem to improve.  The only thing I could think of for consolation is to try to edge up my scores on the two easier songs...

I'm not feeling the Advanced level song, so think I'll stick with practicing Masterclass this week. Plenty of room for improvement.

open notes  on rocksmith always make me confused but i think its a fine intermediate song. pretty repetitive. 

I tested this a couple of months ago but couldn't find the screenshot for bass so i replayed it. Upon reading my comment of that test play said i managed 98.5%+ back then and rated it " 7 but it might be too high". After replaying it I kinda still agree with my past self...Its a long song but you arent playing through most of it and most of the song is pretty repetitve or simple.  so I dont think it should be higher and I dont mind it being lower like daz said aswell. We'll see what others rate it with numbers, for now itll stay a 7 

this is my first play through, I couldnt get the rhythm at all. octave part is easy but the main riff was awkward for me even though its simple on keyboard. I knew it wasnt masterclass but it was the only themed song i found on time that i thought was tricky at the time even if it repeated alot.

played it again after porcupine, I still find it challenging. Should it be lower than a 7? perhaps since it is less to learn than porcupine tree and shorter.

so maybe i just make porcupine tree the masterclass (remains a 7) and this one advanced (lower score by how much idk) ?  i guess i kinda see it in the same vein as men in black since its a tricky riff that repeats alot...that was 5.5 ...hmhmh decisions

yep so ranking difficulty should take the peak difficulty as a factor if it hard for lots of sections/notes/time since the goal is to get a good high score.

hmm itd be easier to disect if you left a number for Bustin  

Baha men ended up being a 5 and even though bustin is in masterclass, it currently is a 7 (was 7.5), both technicly advanced.. so its just 1 different category but let me know what you would rate it number anyways.

As you can see my first score above was pretty low hence the high rating (I'm guilty for both bahamen and bustins rating )  However i didnt have an issue with baha men got 99+ first try hence why i rated it in intermediate i think 4.5 ? and then bumped it up at the end since there was a couple who said it was hard. But yea numbers are apreciated, always good to balance it/ since everyone finds different things more difficult.

Hey noticed you are taking a screenshot with a phone and uploading directly to the forums. Although you wont have issues for some time you will eventually reach a Max limit of space used in the forums making you unable to post pictures on here. To avoid this most of us use urls as the pictures are stored elsewhere (whether it be postimg.org or steam)

you can set up steam to take a screenshot with whichever key you want by going to steam menu -> settings -> game recording -> take a screen shot.

I personally have it set to "\ " because in my language/keyboard its right next to the enter button so its easy for me to click when finishing a song but you can set it up to whichever key you want by clicking the box.



After taking the screenshots you can then decide to post via post images or steam

create an account/ sign in
click upload image menu button
select all pictures in the folder of your computer and drag them to the site
then copy paste the urls from the picture to the forum

Go to Profile (top menu selection) -> Content -> Upload Screen Shots -> Select > (click all the pictures you want to upload ) -> share -> share on steam > upload 

copy paste the url link of each image to the forum

steam might be a littile bit more steps but it will most likely be the more reliable one. We used to use a site called imgur for the longest time and then for x reason it stopped working one day...so that may or not happen with post img.com but most like wont on steam.

i know both methods are slightly inconvenient but atm its the way to do it / you'll  get used to it 

Thank you for your advise.  Im a bit of a derp at the best of times.   I am not a smart man XD  Which is why i do it as photos, but shrink them down so theyre not too big.  I then delete my attachments after each week.  

 

I do need to be brave and at least try this. XD

For me, Id say porcupine tree is harder then Dokken.

I did try the Porcupine Tree song... I am always hesitant to play long songs, so this is the longest song I have played so far, but it seems to be "workable" for me. My first goal was getting at least 80% but that was almost achieved in the first try... I hope I can reach the 90s.

I'm a bit hesitant to suggest numbers, since I often seem to have different opinions than many other players. I personally found the MIB song really easy, Baha Men was quite a bit harder for me, which doesn't seem to agree with most opinions.  I like both Dokken and Porcupine Tree at 7, maybe Butstin at 6.5 since it is amenable to improvement with practice - although I'd rather put in my time practicing Porcupine Tree and Dokken, both of which I find really fun to play and listen to. I should add that separately from the ratings discussion, these are all terrific song choices that I really enjoy and that at the same time help in working on different aspects of playing technique.  (But don't get me started on Monster Mash... grrr...)

I would recommend the app called ShareX. You can take screenshots and upload them to imgur or one of dozens services directly from the app.

Please always leave your rating! With a short comment (like 1 sentence) why it feels like that. It really really helps a lot.
And please don´t take the acc% into account as major factor - it´s just misleading. THE major factor for diff rating shall be the hardest part of the chart for it will determine if you can play it or not, or to argue deeper if a song is rated the highest diff of a class and there is a part that is clearly above the players will not be able to achieve the 99+ (bass 99.5+) for upleveling even if they match the playing ability of the songs diff level..... So unless the too hard parts are very very short like a very short solopart in a long song (few notes) that would still allow the 99/99.5 - the hardest part shall determine and determines the songs difficulty.

My favorite from the bunch, the metal part in the 2nd half is extremely fun. Really need to get into Porcupine Tree somewhat soon as I only heard one of their albums

yea kinda hard to difficulty this one cause this one has a solo and porcupine tree doesnt really have a complicated one..

i feel like it wasnt registering the arps but maybe its just me
