    CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT!!! YEEAAH!!! It's great to stop by here after a blank for a couple of months!! Thank you @ Rodman , as well as @ Mikson and @ cacahuate51 , for keeping the World Wide Championship alive! Sorry for not being able to host weeks for a while! --- Intervals - Sure Shot > this is definitely the type of music I like! I really like discovering here new bands like this one and also have new challenges. And also I like the feeling of being concentrated like hell to try to play a song at the very upper limits of my capacity!

    CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT!!!!! YEAAHH!!! Thank you @ cacahuate51 for hosting two weeks in a row and all the dedication!!!!! ---- I am a very big Tool fan!!! This song is not too difficult, but I am happy I finally reached more than 80% in the very first sightread in advanced... I did the Rhythm first, but the lead sounded like playing almost the same thing again... ( I am not confident, but I would have rated both paths 6 ) Even if it is not so difficult, I get tired fisically and mentally to play a 7 minutes long song... One challenge is to learn all the small variations in the main riffs. Anyway, having fun!!!!

    I actually almost don't play games besides Rocksmith, so I didn't know at all how big Guitar Hero and Rock Band were and that there were many releases (too many, apparently). I had seen this animation from Beatles Rock Band before in Youtube... it's really amazing.

    CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT!!!! YEEEAHHH!!! Thanks again to my compadre @ cacahuate51 who is hosting another great week! My intention was to be fully active this week, but that didn't happen... However I managed to practice my challenge for lead-advanced. I know is not an impressive score, but for me it's an achievement to survive the score attack in lead-7 and reach to the 90s...

    Hi @ craxed ! I apologize for all the confusion: all of this happened cause I didn't assigned properly your class as I had announced during the week I hosted. However, they told me how to fix it and I fixed that, so you oficially belong to lead-advanced as it should had to be the case from the begining of this week. This also means the other contestants in lead-intermediate can have a fair fight as well! I apologize to @ cacahuate51 and everyone else for the confusion!!!

    Hi @ craxed I am absolutely convinced you belong to lead-advanced, so here is what you can do to get the "promotion" you deserve: Go to the Song Selection List (you will find the link in the cover post for this week) , and then go to "Songs Played" (in the tabs below the spredsheet) which is the list of all the songs we have played in the Championship. Then choose any song you like rated 5 (the highest rate in intermediate), get more than 99% and post the screenshot here. I think this won't be too difficult for you. (the thing is that this week int-lead song is 4.5, so you don't get promoted even if you achieve 99% or more) By the way, this method is valid for anyone, since this is a recommendation @ Rodman (the main organizer of the Championship) has made in the past. I should add that, I think "songs played" is a really valuable resource for everyone, since you will find many songs rated by difficulty to practice whatever level suits you!! You can sort the songs by rating to find the songs you need.

    Hi @ cacahuate51 ! Thanks for hosting the week! Regarding @ craxed 's level in my very very humble opinion, in doesn't make sense to "downgrade" him to int-Lead if he already won in adv-lead with 98% in rate 7!!! (the maximum difficulty in that level... actually I am in adv-lead for a year and I have never achieved that). Why do we need to ask him to get 99% in rate 5 for a promotion?? When I joined the championship for bass 2 years ago, I got second place in bass-advance, but when I asked to be assigned to bass-intermediate, @ Rodman told me I belonged in bass-advanced and he was right! @ craxed said that he is not so good at playing solos, but in my opinion (and this is my comment for the compendium) adv-lead is THE class where the main challenge is learning to play moderately difficult solos. In addition, @ craxed have gotten 100% in most if not all the int songs, so this class won't represent any challenge for him and at the same time may become discouraging for the other contestants that are competing to get around 95% or so... Anyway... would want to hear @ Rodman and @ Mikson opinion. And sorry for the inconvenience @ craxed , please keep submitting scores and we will figure it out, OK? Great to have you here, of course!!!

    Hi! We are here in the same journey of loving to play guitar/bass and aspiring to getting better. Never think you are not clever enough when you are stuck in a problem! It takes time and practice until you get small realizations in each step that make you advance to the next level. I even think those realizations are a joy in this journey as enjoyable as playing a song you like!! When you are in standard tunning, the best is to be aware of the actual names of the chords and play them... However, if you are just momentarily changing the tuning, thinking in terms of the names of the chords can be way too confusing!! That is pro level calculus! So... in that case the best is to follow @ cacahuate51 advice: just practice to play comfortably the CAGED chord shapes and play them in the frets they tell you, forgetting about the actual chord names, since you have only changed the tunning momentarily.

    Thank you for creating all the the Return to Dust CDLC's!!! I think this is the third song we play here in the Championship from those CDLC's you have created!!! Thanks to you, Return to Dust was one of my favorite new bands I discovered in 2024!!!

    TO EVERYONE: Sorry for the delay, but I updated last week's winner list after promoting @ craxed to adv-Lead and adv-Rhythm: Lead: - Beginner: @Willyam (24) - Advanced: @craxed (98) Rhythm: - Beginner: @drand (97) --- To @ craxed : You were assigned to beginner-bass, but I find it very unlikely since you are adv-Lead, so I also assigned you to adv-bass. (Actually I would bet you could be bass-masterclass, but lets see...) If you want to change your level in bass after trying a given song, just tell us and you can change it any time.

    I didn't notice!!! Yes, @ craxed reached 98% in a song rated 7, so he definitely belongs to Lead-Advance! That might be the case for rhythm (and bass) as well!!

    Regarding Telula's song, I agree! I did like the other song but to be honest I don't like this one... I just included it because I needed a Adv-bass song from 2024 and that was the only one I found in my list... Regarding Return to Dust - No Love> yeah I think we both liked this band... Still I would have preferred to select an easier song for beginners, but couldn't find any for 2024! --- I really did enjoy making the 2023 (only once) and 2024 selections, but it is always difficult to fill all paths, and also difficult to find songs in the SSL... As you know is already difficult to find beginner songs as well as rhythm and bass masterclass songs, so adding the extra restrain makes it harder! I am seriously thinking about changing the theme to "recent releases" and include songs from the past 2 or 3 years...

    WELCOME TO THE WORLD WIDE ROCKSMITH CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK 586 2024 selection part IV ---- As always, it is with great pleasure that I am hosting this week!!! I was planning to do this selection last month, but didn't have time and energy to do it then... Of course there is no 2025 selection yet! That may be the earliest in summer, when there is a stock of songs from this year... --- Comments about the songs: - Return to Dust - No Love > Our friend and fellow championship organizer @ cacahuate51 suggested it as a beginner song, and I followed his advice, since I couldn't find another good beginner song... However, this may be a really difficult beginner song!
