I hope you will like this week selections also.

Elevation - I'm truly surprised that it didn't made the official pack, so here you have it :)

Starlight - It was picked for last week beginner but I felt that it was a little bit like Volbeat so pushed it to this weeks Intermediate.

Amorphis - That one is hard and surprisingly 1st Amorphis tune that we play that didn't catch me.

Invaders - Classic Maiden. I loved when they were more punky in their early days.

Quadrant 4 - This is Bonus Lead (with the newest update you can play it in Score Attack  ) what we play. I don't know how fripp did this one and I challange @@AlpaQ and @@JokerTheAnarchist to prove themself's!

Good morning , here are some early scores, on Bass,

dmfsbwt1w6s3dch6g.jpg

I enjoyed playing this one, nice easy(ish) tune to start with probably be blown out of the water with a better score, but happy wit this for now.

Next up we have U2.

Not my favourite band in the world and quite how Paul Hewson spent a career getting away with writing such shit lyrics is beyond me (not all songs of course, and just my opinion) but.......Really ?

A mole,

Digging in a hole,

Digging in my soul,

Excavation

I suppose if i could do better i'd be flying my helicopter or driving my Bentley to work wearing silly glasses but it's hardly Lenon and McCartney is it ?

anyway, a score.

lbpf5z42mp0pcsr6g.jpg

Lastly for todays Bass choices we have the drop tuned Amorphis which i didn't expect to like but quickly grew on me.

ynudlq7kld5a3yc6g.jpgAs usual with this type of tuning I have recognition issues but I'm sure I'll improve on this during the week.

You are probably too young to know him. Billy Cobham is an amazing Jazz & Fusion drummer, playing that stuff since the early 70's. This is one of his early projects and Quadrant 4 is a real classic song written by him, covered by many others later. I saw him a few years ago in my region playing live with a newer project, Paradox, with Bill Bickford on guitar and Wolfgang Schmid on bass. There they also played Quadrant 4, and I've bought their album this evening with Q4 and some newer songs. Really great stuff if you like this kind of music. At this custom at the Lead Bonus I transcribed the organ originally played by Jan Hammer including the first solo for the hardcores like you, amazing score you got, congrats.

For me it is too many notes to play, just cannot survive the first solo without lot of practicing work, so that'd be my best.

It's not about being too young.. Based on this you could say I'm too young to know Megadeth because I was born in '97.

I just never got into jazz and fusion music. I'm interested in it, I just don't really know where to start. The kind of jazz I'd listen to is one with fast tempos and solos all over, I don't know where to find that though.

I enjoyed the song though. Well synth and organ solos are impossible to replicate on guitar, I just shredded my ass off roughly following the chart, the song has a fun vibe to it though with that main melody.

I'll make a video.

@@JokerTheAnarchist, if you like Jazz music you could google for it or just search youtube.

If you like old guitar Jazz you could try some Django Reinhardt, he has many fast tunes. Or more smooth with Wes Montgomery, but very nice sometimes (he also have some very fast tunes). If you like it more modern search for jazz/fusion or jazz/rock.

So BEG Lead U2 (eh, fun enough I suppose).  96.27% 202 Streak, 397,954.  Trouble mostly with the octave-spam near the end.  After that tremolo blasting in the Metric song last week my wrists hurt.

INT Rhythm Amorphis (Crunchy, woo!).  94.84% 321 longest streak 1,018,670

i'm looking forward to Red Baron and Stratus. Great job.

@@JokerTheAnarchist

You've probably heard of Guthrie Govan but maybe not with Bryan Beller (for the bassists too) and Marco Minnemann. Lots of tasty ideas throughout this.

(If you watch/enjoy then buy the album/dvd. Bloody millennial freeloaders pushing up the price of my gig tickets!!)

Anyone reckon they could offer any Aristocrats transcriptions in the future?!
I'm getting alright at transcribing in Guitar Pro, but this is daunting!! Is making customs much more of a challenging step beyond that?

Maybe this isn't the best place to ask this, but...

Does anyone have any advice for building up finger speed, strength and endurance for some of the faster music on bass?  I've been working on playing Amorphis Under the Red Cloud, but after playing the song a few times, my fingers are completely worn out!  Most of the song is pretty easy, but there are a few of the faster sections that I struggle with.
