  1. Is there a way to change the scroll speed of cdlc? Some songs scroll by way too fast for me. I found a tutorial on youtube, which I've attempted to follow at least half a dozen times, but every time I try using the song creator toolkit and click the 'generate' button, I get a message saying that I don't have a compatible version of wwise. I downloaded the most recent version of the song creator toolkit, and wwise.
  2. I won't be participating anymore. I might try and join again one day, who knows? Thanks, I had fun.
  3. Here's my attempt at Since You've Been Gone. It's much easier than last week was. I might try again later this week to improve my score, but probably not. I think we all know that Telboy is going to win, anyway. But that's ok, it'll give me more time to try (and fail!) Hammer Smashed Face. It's not my favorite Cannibal Corpse song, but I do really like it.
  4. The Kelly Clarkson is just a joke! We're playing Rainbow this week. Sorry to any Kelly Clarkson lovers I might have got excited. Fine by me. I know the name, but I don't know her music. Then again, I don't think I've ever heard the Rainbow song, either.
  5. The song for bass intermediate is Since U Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson, but the link goes to Rainbow Since You've Been Gone. So which one is correct?
  6. Hammer Smashed Face! Not a chance in hell that I can play that song, but I love cannibal corpse. Should be fun to try, even though I'm sure I'll fail miserably. Alex Webster is a god among bass playing men.
  7. I Had to play the Batman theme. Do I get bonus points for scaling the side of a building while playing it? I had assumed the Dream Theater song would be absurdly difficult, but I think that even a mere mortal like me can play this one, with a little practice.
  8. I haven't been able to practice at all the past few days, so my progress on Animal Style is pretty minimal, to say the least. I'm even having to rush just to get this screenshot up. Anyway, here it is.
  9. Well, here's my attempt at Saturday Night. I have been trying to play Animal, but it's kicking my butt.
  10. Here's my Bad Reputation. That was a fun song to play :) And here a worse attempt at Bad Reputation. I made several mistakes, but ended up with a better score... 100.3%? Huh?
  11. Here's my attempt at Nothing to Lose. I received my replacement bass, so now I can play again! Ibanez sent it to me much quicker than I expected, they had originally said it wouldn't be before the end of June. It was a big pain in the butt, but they did send me a replacement for free, so I can't complain too much.
  12. When I bought the bass, the sales guy claimed that if I ever had any problems I could just bring it in and they would fix or replace it. And then the guy working at the register told me the same thing. Apparently that policy is no longer in effect. The return/replacement policy was for fifteen days, so that is long past. I bought it last summer, so the manufacturers warranty (one year) is still active, but now they (Guitar Center repair) won't touch it. I don't understand why not. I wasn't asking them to fix it for free. I just want them to try to fix it. Even if they can't fix the warped neck, I just asked that they try and look it over to see if it is something that can be repaired, but like I said, they won't even do that. It's really frustrating.
  13. Here we go again. Nothing from me this week, and maybe not for a few weeks at least. Had more problems with my bass, so I took it in for repairs again. The neck is warped, but I had been able to play it, but now I get no sound from any string, whether I plug into Rocksmith or an amp. I tried three different cables, all with the same result. Since I bought the bass from Guitar Center (I won't make that mistake again!) the repair guys at GC say that they aren't authorized for Ibanez repairs, and the other local music shop say they won't touch it because the neck is warped, so I have to send it back to the manufacturer. And Ibanez says that I likely won't get it back until some time in June, and maybe later. So is this sort of thing common? I had never sent an instrument in to be repaired before, but I have to say that I am very unimpressed by the repair service at Guitar Center and at the other local music store. First trying to get my bass re-stringed and now trying to get it repaird has been like pulling teeth, it seems where ever I take the bass in for repairs, they have some reason why they won't repair it. Nobody will even look it over. Is this typical? Is Ibanez known for being difficult to repair? Any input people have would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Hope I'm not too late! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=910945988
  15. Nothing from me this week. I haven't been able to play very much the past few weeks (health issues), and I just got my bass into the shop for a tune up. Apparently it wasn't set up properly, unlike what the Guitar Center guys told me, so I'll get it back in a few days, and hopefully I won't have so many problems with it once I get it back.
  16. Here's my attempt at Linda Linda. Hope it's not too late.
  17. Nothing from me this week. First we had our power knocked out by a pretty damaging wind storm (always fun during the winter!), and we had to spend a lot of time cleaning up from that, then I had some health issues to deal with. Not a good week. Hopefully I'll get back to it for next week.
  18. You're right; normally I have the level set to 100, but for some reason it had dropped down to 17. I changed it back, hopefully it makes a difference : )
  19. Not a lot of time to practice this week, and it shows. Plus I'm still having major note recognition problems, especially when tuned to D, pretty frustrating. And I keep getting the 'your volume is very low' message, but it's set as loud as it goes. I'm hoping to get to a music shop this week and have someone look at my bass, maybe figure out what the problem is. I know... excuses, excuses. Anyway...here's my score for this week.
  20. There is such a thing as a "tune up", yeah, but it is even easy to do this yourself (instructions on the same web page I posted earlier). But having said that, it's not a bad thing to have it done at a shop the first time - at least then you've got some sort of set-up to copy! If you can speak to the technician at all, ask them to tell you what they've done to it. It's a good way to learn. :) That sounds like some good advice. I'll do just that, thanks again!
  21. Yeah, I've used that excuse myself. ;) Seriously, changing strings is dead easy. There are pretty comprehensive instructions here: https://www.studybass.com/gear/bass-strings/how-to-change-bass-guitar-strings/ If it's your first time, take photos of the headstock before you start, then you'll have a record of how the strings are wound on the pegs on your bass. Then all you should need are wire cutters/snips. Take care to get the right string in the right position before you cut anything (V.O.E. - after doing it so many times, it's easy to get blasé, and cut one too short). The only other thing maybe to cover the body of the bass with something - tape/cloth, so that when you pull the strings through the bridge, you don't scratch your finish. Thanks for the advice! I read through the tutorial, doesn't seem too difficult. I'm probably still going to have it done at a music shop, because I also want someone to take a look at my bass, give it a 'tune up' if there is such a thing. I bought my bass from a large chain music store, so I want to be sure that it was set up properly, it seems like the strings may be too high, but I don't know. That's why I want to take it to someone who does know, so they can fix anything that needs to be fixed. I'll likely do it myself when I restring in the future, but knowing me, if there is a way to screw it up, I'll probably find it. :)
