I guess I should probably play that other song now that it's my class, eh?

My strings feel and sound ancient witch did not help at all, needs to get some new xls. I'm not big on qotsa but ill probably shift my focus to that song so these old 10s can have some voice in estd

  11. I remember how hard I worked to get a good tone for my Yes and Chris Squire customs. It's not easy because he was using two amps at the same time: One clean bass amp and an overdriven guitar amp, so he got definition and growl. RS is limited in that regard, so it's always a compromise but I think I managed to get it pretty close both times. You can try using either of those for the official customs. I know I will once I actually play them. :D

  14. And regarding none of these songs at all: My first forays at busking were of mixed success. On my first day, I made $24 in less than an hour, and that was with 20 minutes of talking to people. Now expecting double minimum wage for making music, I got comfy and did three hours of it the second time. The first hour, not a single person gave me a glance. But then I played Ending Credits (which does not even have words in it), and people rushed me with toonies after I finished! Ended up making the same amount that day in the end. But it's not even about the money, really - I'm just having a good time performing in front of strangers again. I haven't been on a stage in years, and it's probably gonna be a while longer still, but busking gives me that same high. Also pays for my beer! Here's a shot a photographer snuck of me making a goofy smile while talking with an adoring fan: http://i.imgur.com/vXP1GhY.jpg

  15. Please discuss Rocksmith Remastered here. FAQ: Q: My CDLC doesn't work! A: For windows: Please use the new .dll | Mac: Please use the Patch. You can get both here For further help regarding customs not playing see : CDLC not working - General Rocksmith - CustomsForge Q: I'm getting 100% on all the CDLC songs I play A: Thanks to @@cozy1 and @@Lovroman you can now update all your collection in the 1.2.6.4 beta version of CFSM that can be found here : http://ignition.customsforge.com/cfsm Q: I'm getting camera issue on some CDLC, why? A: The remaster update slightly changed how the camera is handle in game so CDLC that don't have section have now different camera issue than before that are more problematic now. Note that not having section also means that Riff Repeater (RR) isn't available in game and also means that the play count won't be incremented every time the song is played. If you find such CDLC, alert the author of the problem and report the CDLC to us via the appropriate report button. Q: The play count isn't getting updated when i play CDLC, why? A: The remaster update slightly changed how it counts the number of time someone play a song which seems be related to DD instead of only section as it was before the remaster. So any CDLC without DD won't have is play count properly working. Q: I'm getting crashes when on the Learn A Song page of some CDLC? A: The remaster update changed how bonus and alternate arrangement are visible which also have a side effect of provoking random crashes when looking at songs that have too much (more than 5) arrangement in the Learn A Song area of the game. If you find such CDLC, alert the author of the problem and report the CDLC to us via the appropriate report button. Q: I'm getting an error when launching the Rocksmith Remastered A: Please verify your integrity via Steam. We do not support pirated copies and we will ban you if caught with a copy. Make sure to have Cherub Rock DLC to be able to use CDLC. Q: Is Ubisoft trying to ruin CDLC? A: No. When they updated the game, the executable file changed which is why the dll needs to be updated, it's a side effect of software programming not a voluntary maneuver to break up things. Other issue arise by the discrepancies between how CDLC and ODLC are made, they aren't 100% similar inside and some of those differences can be put to light when the game changes how it react to some information. This is not ubisoft's fault as they never provided CDLC or mod support in the first place and when the main code changes, is it our duty to fix our mods to make the CDLC work again.

  20. @@chris1169 - I don't think there's an official list anywhere. I have a list of bands that I've made customs for that use 5-string and 6-string bass on some of their songs in my workshop (see signature). For my customs, this is usually available as the bonus rhythm path (if there's a rhythm path for guitar) or normal rhythm path (if no rhythm path for guitar). You can also try searching for it. Now sure how much it will be useful, but here are my results when I do an advanced search for "5 string bass" (6 string bass seems to be the same, so it's probably just getting "string bass", which hopefully is mostly mentioned when it's unusual). A lot of those may just be B standard and lower 4 string paths, though (that is, they don't ever use the high strings)

  21. Well, there's option of setting 5- or 6-string bass as a requirement when submitting customs to the database but I think Ignition, the current database engine, isn't able to actually filter or even show that information, so there's no way to look for it atm. There'll be an update eventually which should make that possible, at least that's what I hope. Not sure if anyone's made a list of songs that require 5- or 6-string basses, but you can search for it. I also don't know what genres you are interested in and apart from the one's I made, I don't really have a lot of info about that. A lot of progressive rock/metal bands use 5/6 string basses (Dream Theater, Haken, etc.) and also many modern musicals require basses with more than 4 strings (I released a few customs from musicals like that). Making a list of my own stuff will take a while, so I'll only do it once I know what you are really looking for.

  24. Ok, most of that I'll agree with on songs. I'd also look into some other things that could pique your interest; ever hear Metallica, Nirvana, or Radiohead on a double bass? Fun stuff. Blues Traveler, Cranberries, Reel Big Fish, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Joe Bonamassa also come to mind. The point where I'll disagree is the odd sound for the Beatles' bass lines. So McCartney used a short-scale bass. So what? Standard length for an electric is 34". If it really annoys you, use a bass capo or transpose notes slightly to account for the whopping 4" difference in neck length. If none of that works, it might be your output arrangement (cab, pedals, etc.) at fault. Don't knock the instrument for it. It could be as simple as he used (and continues to use) a really nice, vintage tube setup, which sounds completely different than newer tube setups or any solid-state or hybrid you can pick up these days. Not really the place to do too much discussion of finer points like that, though. If you'd like to continue this potentially quite intriguing debate, I'd request a PM thread or something to be the place. Ragnar, hope you find some good options in any or all of the suggestions here; there are some pretty decent musicians on here, and between the lot of them I'm sure you'll find an overabundance of options to sort through that would fit your needs and musical tastes.

  28. Even before the update, this happened. It means you have broken/corrupt CDLC in your folder... unless you can figure out which one is the culprit, you need to remove your CDLC and add them in a little by little. Think of this as an opportunity to clean up your CDLC folder and remove the songs you don't play/like very much. :) Same thing happens to me in "Learn a Song." I've found that "Nonstop Play" works just fine though, see if it's specifically one or the other or both. Otherwise, playing nonstop play is just fine for me! If neither work, make sure that default settings are on in the rs settings.

  31. I did find the issue, I for some reason didn't have that in my root folder for Rocksmith, thank you very much Nice u got your basic instructions. Link to basics is also in front page of this topic. After you remove listed crashers, same namers(can be fixed), duplicates in your dlc folder u propably will only crash only about 1/500 songs nowdays. Next time when you start crash often is when u have messed your save and it happens after 10000+ songs, but then crash occurs after you have played song (save crash) Crashers and same namers (and many others issues) must be removed manually, but duplicates(same song*x times in dlc folder can be found fast by using cozy1 tools. Cozy1 tools can fix also messed (poorly synced or just too large) save. Link and basic info about tool also in front page. Highly recommended to use it to avoid crashes or keep em minimal. It has been quiet. No new issues for a long time, even i have't been able to catch a fish :) . Great work charters and all tool developers. At least Dead tones, save corrupters have been vanished since toolmakers great work and others issues are also diminishing. Most new issues (crash) are nowdays caused by same namers. But there is easy fix for them. I have been quite lazy to report those since there is nothing wrong of songs they just won't work together... I would really help if people would report same namers to charters, at least some charters could then fix issue permanently by uploading fixed song. But anyways, that's minor issue, and anyone can fix by themselves (fix(es) in frontpage)... I, surely want just play issues minimal and i really can do it still after xxxxx songs. Thx for songs, thanks for great tools to make em, thx for tools to keep save alive, crash less... And surely ubi for game itself. Hope we will see day that my topic is totally useless. No manual removing or afterwards fix occurs. :D Anyways its getting better...less useful topic :)

  32. Is seems to me that the issue with the 100% mastery bug has shown a deficiency in understanding on the part of the community over the correct structure of DLC. This is an opportunity to improve the creation tools and make future CDLC better than in the past. Most existing CDLC still works in that it can be played. Most of them actualy work pretty well, only a few are broken and the 100% bug isn't a show stopper for most people. And there is a pretty decent fix for that now if you can be bothered. I would have lost interest in RS long ago if not for this community. I think you all rock and I'd like to thank all the programmers and charters who make this possible. You are as gods who stalk the earth. Full disclosure. I play exclusively BASS and haven't experienced the 100% bug personally. The only issue I have is the inability to riff repeat songs without sections and that is down to a change in the new riff repeater affecting less well made CDLC. I'd still rather have the imperfect CDLC than it not be there. At least if it exists it might get fixed or I might even take the time to learn to do it myself if I care enough about a particular song. Anyone can do this with a bit of effort so I don't understand the moaning and complaining. The only real issue left from the REMASTERED update is that it has shown up the deficiencies of some CDLC. The tools have been updated to allow most of these problems to be fixed almost automatically and the remaining issues can be fixed by re-authoring the CDLC. We should celebrate these guys and the RS creators for allowing the CDLC community to exist. I'm sure they could make life very awkward for us if they really wanted to so kudos to them for tolerating us.

  33. Mostly this has to do with how tones are assigned in EOF during the charting process. If multiple tones are used and reused throughout an arrangement in EOF then the toolkit locks these tones to prevent user for making inadvertent changes which will result in tone corruption. This is done because the toollkit assigns tone ids to the multi tones from/ based on the EOF arrangements and original tone usage and placement. It is always best to modify tone usage in EOF and then pull the arrangement back into the toolkit so that these tone ids do not become confused/corrupted. Otherwise the tones will not work when they should or worse cause the game to hang.
