  5. Haha, Fishbone was rated 8 and Rodrigo 8.5, so I wanted to go, respectively, Advanced and MC, but after playing this songs I felt that Fishbone is really hard, while Rodrigo is easier, so I swapped them. PS. You will hate my lead choices for next week  Or not, if it'll work out the way I want it, it should be ok.

  11. Hi all, actually I'm creating customs from Guitar Pro tabs that I wrote for education. This blues exercises are inspired by the book "Play Blues Guitar" by Jürgen Kumlehn, but I took only the riffs (Lead) and create full tracks of it with Lead, Rhythm, Bass and Drums in GP6. Thanks to Guitar Pro 6 which is able to convert the tabs also to wav, so I use the GP audio. (To record everything would be much to much work). The idea is to use this customs for practicing some standard blues riffs in typical 12 bar shape, in this case for accompaniment. The shapes are here as followed, always 12 bars then repeat, every shape is played 4 times. The steps are written in Roman numerals. A step belongs to the chord of it's ascending scale. If i.e. A Major is the key, the Chords to this key are A, Bm, C#m, D, E, F#m, G#mb5. Standard 12 Bar Blues shape uses only A, D, E, what are at the steps 1, 4 and 5, thus I, IV and V in this case the shape: I I I I IV IV I I V IV I V this formula works in all keys Of course you can use it also to improvise, every custom of them will have an additional bonus track without any notes for jamming. Metronome tracks are also available for each path (bonus) except the Bonus Jam Track. we start with easy ones Exercise 1 Blues Comping 1 shuffled 8ths in A major 12 Bar Blues accompaniment in A-major @ 90 bpm, easy level on all paths. The tabs for all arrangements are written by myself, also drums and bass. Lead Rhythm Bass http://thumbs.picr.de/23142836tl.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23174590zs.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23174640ic.jpg Exercise 2 Blues Comping 2 in A major with straight eights @ 120 bpm again an easy one with single notes on lead guitar, rhythm guitar with chords and bass. Lead Rhythm Bass http://thumbs.picr.de/23174889hb.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23174891zn.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23174908we.jpg Exercise 3 Blues Comping 3 in G major @ 120 bpm, advanced level Again a 12 Bar Blues, this one is a little bit harder, especially the rhythm guitar since it's played in a funky rhythm quite a lot of fun if you've got the groove Lead Rhythm Bass http://thumbs.picr.de/23201246ep.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23201266xx.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23201281qn.jpg Exercise 4 Blues Comping 4 in E major @ 90 bpm (shuffle) 12 Bar, all paths Lead Rhythm Bass http://thumbs.picr.de/23267054sh.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23267071da.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23267115mz.jpg Part 2 Now let's continue with some more advanced stuff The next track is from Peter Fischer's book Survival Guitar, chapter Blues. I took the soundtrack from CD and modified it a bit, cut, copied and pasted 3 chorus into the song that it has 4 12 Bar chorus instead only one. Now we have the same lenght than all other exercises and a great sounding backingtrack (no GP RSE this time). Also I managed to add a "Vocals" track which shows information every bar i.e.: 1 - E7 (I) what means bar number of a chorus (1), actual chord (E7) on this step (I). (I will update all other exrecises with this feature later.) This exercise still uses the same shape like the first 4 exercises, I-I-I-I-IV-IV-I-I-V-IV-I-V, but now we have a turnaround in the 11th bar and as an Intro before the first bar. also the lead path is played with some rakes what makes it more advanced. Rhythm path is mostly offbeat with deadnotes (chords) in between, and the song is again in shuffle/swing feel at ~115bpm. The bass plays a walking bass line. Like all others it has metronome as bonus track on all paths and on lead a Jam-bonus track without any notes for improvisation. Exercise 5 Blues Comping 5 in E major the sheets: Lead Rhythm Bass http://thumbs.picr.de/24690165ze.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/24693015bl.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/24690188gr.jpg -enjoy this 5th exercise- Exercise 6 The next one is again the 12 bar shape like usual with an additional Quickchange on the 2nd Bar, IV instead I. Now the 12 bar shape looks like this I IV I I IV IV I I V IV I V With a rate of 140bpm and a shuffle/swing feel it's on a higher level. Also it includes any turnarounds. all tabs and music of these are created by myself, only helper was GP6 which enabled sheets and sound (and of course EOF and all other amazing tools that are needed to create any cdlc, thanks to the developers :) ). Blues Comping 6 in B major the sheets Lead Rhythm Bass http://thumbs.picr.de/24947606qf.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/24947608sx.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/24947612hi.jpg I try to show always only one page of the sheet for every arrangement, so it requires sometimes to hide the traditional note system, then only the tablature is shown. At this one I had to do the screenshots earlier since I created a second drum and decided to mix them, therefore I had to split up the repeats to have the first two chorus a halftime shuffle and the 3dr and 4th more forward drums. Unfortunately later in EOF I decided to change the first three bars note positions at Lead in every chorus, same notes but easier to handle, so this three bars are not exactly the same as in the sheet. Challenge 7 for the next track I don't provide tabs since it's just too much, too many variations because it's a real audio recorded by myself with drum, bass and 2 guitars. For more information see the release notes at the record page. If you need tabs you can extract them with the RS to Tab tool or with the newest Toolkit, I heard this can do the job as well. Now folows as promised a 12 bar Minor Blues in this shape with a quick change at 2nd bar I m7 IV m7 I m7 I m7 IV m7 IV m7 I m7 I m7 bVI 7 V7 I m7 V7 Fripples - B-Minor-Blues (blues comping7) is a cosy shuffle @ 98bpm this time it's not named as a You exercise but rather a full value song, performed by me. The cdlc contains a Rhythm guitar which is the Blues comping 7 Lead guitar which is an improvisation, nice solo blues licks the whole song Bass guitar of course additional I created tracks with muted instruments from the multirack, but I suggest, esp the solo guitar, have a good ear on it (the main track with all instruments) before playing the muted ones, because RS of course is not capable to display things like articulation, so play also with your ears and your heart! Challenge 8 this is another tune I created by my own. Like the B-Minor I composed, played and recorded all instruments and finally mixed down in home production. More informations about the production and the set up you find at the record page of this custom. It's another 12 Bar Blues in G-minor, slightly different shape than before: Fonk de Blues it starts with a 8 bar funky pentatonic riff, then follows the 12 bar blues shape in a funky way (2x) then over 2 chorus (12 bar bs) a guitar solo, then 8 bars a catchy octave vamp, again the 12 bar theme (2x) then the riff from start 8 bars, last but not least 8 bars the octave vamp as an outro the blues shape now looks like that Im Im Im Im IVm IVm Im Im V7 IVm Im V7#9 Fripples - Fonk de Blues (Blues Comping As already said the lead guitar has a nice solo in the middle, some funky riffs and a single note line during the 12 bar shape. The rhythm guitar doubles the riff and the vamp once, the second time it's doubled transposed by an octave up. At the blues shape parts the rhythm guitar plays chords and many dead notes with wah pedal. The bass is a nice and groovy slap line. Key is G-minor, straight eights at 102 bpm, very nice to play (and to listen I mean) Again I made also a No Lead, No Rhythm and No Bass track with the multitrack audio. enjoy it! have fun with this challenging exercises, I do

  17. Ok, I've been a bit lax of late, but I'm back with my full attention… well, maybe... First goes and impressions: Joe Cocker - quite a tricky beginner song (I managed to f*ck it up - not that I'm a bass god or anything, I'm just getting quite good at Rocksmith…): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B49Qq-EFnmrKU3A1bTM0Vjk3NVU/view?usp=sharing I'm not sure of the tone on that one either - it's a bit, well, bleurgh. Royal Blood (a band I quite like and a nice difficult advanced song): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B49Qq-EFnmrKU3JPVWpKMHJDdUU/view?usp=sharing Sorry, did I say "advanced"? lol And then there's The Jackson 5. I've played it before. Once. I got 75% (yes, I actually stayed in there and finished the song). Tonight I did a hell of a lot better on my second go, 84%. I gave it another go on Score attack: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B49Qq-EFnmrKTjJWZGpjVV9oVXM/view?usp=sharing I need to get some practice in this week… :)

You are now back in my good books and "Nice douche" status is resumed :) Thank you for the proper notice  So I was faffing about a bit today just running the bassline through my head and set myself a target to get 97.9% accuracy and this happened... Update: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=518944446... I don't know if my widdley widdley mantra throughout the day in my brain helped this or I just suddenly got, good? *Upwards affliction to the voice!* Gag me with a spoon! :D

  22. There are two common issues that are affecting the quality of CDLCs here, and I'd like to extend this request to anyone and everyone making CDLCs. I apologize if this is the wrong forum, and I realize that the best and most direct approach is to contact the developer, but in this case it's almost too much work, so while I work on my boilerplate replies, I'd just like to give everyone a heads up in case they're about to upload a "less-than-awesome" CDLC. I'm relatively new to guitar and extremely new to CDLCs but I have a few years experience as a bass and keyboard performer, studio engineer, and live sound tech, and I do know a little bit about guitar and mix processing, so I have some theories as to the mistakes that are being made. Please take a look at these tips in case any of the info is new to you. #1: Tones About a third of the CDLCs I download have... well, issues with tone. Here are some tips you should apply before attempting to create a custom tone. Connect your RT cable right to the guitar. Not everybody owns a tube screamer or a preamp. If you set up a tone so it sounds good on your pedal rig, it will most likely sound terrible on a guitar, which is what RS recommends and which most players are using. Don't forget that there are EQ controls inside some pickups.Do not use the tone controls on your guitar, or ask us to. This kills RS's note detection, and not all guitars have taps or tone pots. There are EQs in the tone editor. If your guitar is so equipped, try to use the bridge pickup for lead and the neck for rhythm. This also relates to note detection. RS uses harmonics to tell what string/note you're playing.Do not use a hollowbody, acoustic, short-scale, or other "exotic" instrument while developing tones. They sound different to begin with, and also have different harmonics that can affect detection. If that's all you've got, refrain from making significant tone changes or have a buddy with a "normal" guitar help you.If you have any doubt at all, just use the default tone. It sounds great on quite a few songs.Regardless of your level of expertise, get an honest and competent friend to check the sound for you. Many of these are just so far off I can't stomach playing through. Yes, you can use the tone stick under some circumstances, but there is a limited number of slots. If you've adjusted any control (with some exceptions like fuzz or overdrive) in any plugin to the extreme end of its range, consider very carefully whether you've attempted to reach the tone in the wrong way. There could be a more appropriate signal chain.Don't make a tone that's "better than the original." This is subjective, and it usually isn't.If you are an extremely skilled guitarist, remember that the overwhelming majority of RS players cannot control muting as well as you and that your "all the way to eleven" tone will disappear in a sickening mess of fret and handling noise and 60Hz hum for everyone else here.Remember that playing technique varies widely from song to song. Picking position, fretting, palm muting, and strumming style all contribute greatly to the timbre of a guitar's voice. Try to watch the original video and make sure you're playing the instrument appropriately before you then go on to tweak the sound. If you're unfamiliar with a guitarist you may be trying to achieve with stomp boxes what naturally comes out of his/her fingertips. In most cases, if you search the web for "so-and-so's guitar rig," you'll find a precise rundown of what they use, and can get a very good clue to how to replicate it in RS. If not, you'll find a competent guitarist's guess at the very least. #2: pitch. About 10%-25% of the CDLCs I've downloaded are so far off in pitch that they're truly unpleasant to listen to, and it is difficult to play to a song that's not in tune, particularly when bending. Here are some tips for getting the pitch right: Please don't use audio from YouTube, like many tutorials describe. Legal issues aside, YT compresses the heck out of audio and this will also result in a transcode; and you're also trusting that the person who ripped it originally didn't screw it up. In addition, off-tuning songs fools YT's copyright police software, and many uploaders intentionally screw with the pitch or tempo of songs for this reason.Don't transcode at all. Bit rates are sensitive to distortion when transcoding, and there is always a possibility the result will be a few cents off.Don't use CD ripping software if you don't know how it works. There are options in most ripping software for sample rate conversion that can affect pitch.Don't trust your ears. Not everyone can tell by ear that a whole song is out of pitch. You have to know what to listen for. Learn how to use a strobe tuner (you can download one for your phone). Ask multiple people to help you check. If your ears are all you've got, play the CD alongside your CDLC and listen for flanging or "fattening." Listen to your editor's MIDI playback if that is an option (and make sure you've got the right tuning). If you are ripping from tape, vinyl, video, or any other source, remember that all of these types of sources can go out of pitch and must be calibrated periodically.Don't use a cheap sound card. Some plug-in USB sound interfaces have horrible clock accuracy. Sometimes the driver affects clock speed and dropped samples in response to your video card's settings. Laptops and their many integrated peripherals seem to be notorious for pitch issues. Ripping direct from a CD does not require any processing of the audio by your hardware.Don't forget to tune your guitar meticulously while you develop your CDLC. If your ax is out of tune, you won't notice that the song is out of pitch. If you're a relatively new guitarist, remember that your playing might be a little sharp due to your fretting force.Don't forget that some songs were not recorded in A=440. Try your best to make sure you're in the same tuning as the original.I am very grateful to everyone who's taken the significant time and effort to upload CDLCs so please don't take this as needless griping. I would like to help everyone here who is working to expand the customs universe and as my RSCT skills grow I will certainly lend my assistance to anyone who asks.

  23. Hi! when i add DD with the rs toolkit sometimes there are notes that doesn't show or show it incorrectly in the max difficulty in the game, but when i do the cdlc without DD the chart is fine. Also, when i do a DD cdlc the sections shows properly, but when i do the cdlc without DD i can see the sections but some of the tracks of the song don't let me to move into each section Someone know what can be? I have RS toolkit 2.6.1 and EOF 1436

  25. I actually just experienced the problem above with the audio becoming out of tune but only because of the notes passed the in-game fretboard causing it to crash for me, so yeah make sure that all notes work out and here's the tab, just download it below on UG: http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/l/larc_en_ciel/stay_away_ver5_guitar_pro.htm

The John Cortez Band sounds like it's right up my alley, I told my wife about it and she is all in for going and finally seeing the Gas Monkey Bar N' Grill along with me seeing it for the first time also. Heard on the news they got caught watering down the Booze recently and replacing the expensive Hard liquor with a cheaper brand. But I just drink Beer, they can't mess with it, I think, in the cans and bottles, now the draft would be a different story. Later, Terry

  27. Can't you correct the tab so that there's no beat before the audio start to avoid that alert during import? it might be good option to try and it's not reallly complicated.

  30. There's a tool you can find here to help restore your corrupt profile. In order to stop it from continually being corrupted though, you'll have to figure out what custom(s) is causing the problem. Also make sure that you're allowing the game to finish auto-saving before closing the game, and that you're quitting the game in the proper way.

  31. Watching the video it seems the audio does start before the chart appears, I had an error a while back with this and I believe I had to re-encode the 'leading silence' since it bugged out to where the silence become a part of the song. I'll look more into it in a bit. I had just put in what should be the exact same guitar.ogg file you have on your EoF and this is what came up: http://prntscr.com/8h3ndj Earlier I had asked if you messed with the beat markers, this is what I see on my end is why: http://prntscr.com/8h3phw Either the DDC is the cause of the problem or an error had occured with the leading silence/tempo in EoF as seen above If you want I also have a download to all guitar and bass parts for STAY AWAY by Larc en Ciel

  33. @@Devs71 - Different charters have different preferences - some people like to only hear themselves if they mess up egregiously, others (like me) like to hear everything they do really clearly. Anyway, in addition to the mixer that @@Wepeel mentioned, you can also adjust the relative levels of the song audio in the Toolkit. -In the creator tab, click "Import Package" at the bottom center -Choose the .psarc package you want to modify, then choose where you want the .psarc to be unpacked (this will generate a folder there, which you can delete once you're done adjusting things). -The third row in the "Song Information" area has the "Song vol.", which has a negative number next to dB. -7 is quieter than -5, and so on. If you think the overall volume in the game is too loud, then decrease this. -If you want to adjust the tone volumes, go down to "Tones" near the bottom of the page. Click on the tone you want to change the volume of, then click "Edit". -This brings up a new window. Here, more negative volumes are louder, so -27 will be louder than -25. A few dB is a pretty big change, so it probably makes sense to adjust by only a couple dB at a time unless the tone volume is well and truly inaudible relative to the song, in which case something like 5-7 dB is probably a good place to start. I hope that helps!

  35. Okay so I've seen the notes in EoF and can say its probable cause is the constant bpm changes since they were all dragged at one point. Only reason I would say it would do that in game (happened with another tab when i reloaded it in EoF) Find the right bpm and Shift+Left Click from the start to end for a selection of notes then you would just hold down left click to drag them to a point instead of messing with the beat map as it changes constantly in the beggining from 120 bpm to 155.

  36. Well first check if you've put the right audio file in the toolkit but i guess you've already checked that. Secondly i would check if you don't have any note going over 24 fret or so, RS doesn't like it at all when it comes to display those kind of stuff and you can see that a mute chord go at 17 or so which is never a good sign even though it might not be that big of a deal. If none of that is the cause, i would probably redo the chart in EOF quickly to see know if it's the import that messes up everything or not. A try without DD might be worth it too just in case, who knows (even if that seems unlikely unless you fucked up a section at the end?). I'm not really sure what could be the cause exactly but trying to eliminate probable causes could help pin down what's really going wrong.

  37. If I'm looking at the correct tabs for this song, it seems like its not beat at all (155 bpm) and there are tons of BPM changes throughout the song throwing it off course. Mind if I see the tabs?

  38. Already known issue maybe it DDC related or toolkit related, but surely not eof. I'll post here when it's done
    1 point
  39. The issue is that EOF wants you to define the end position of slides as the lowest used fret instead of the lowest fretted string (ie. the unpitched slide in question should end at fret 6 instead of fret 8). Additionally, in this particular example the bug seemed to only happen because the sliding chord was linked to the previous chord and was recreated as single notes. I've added error checking to Rocksmith export so that if a project with this peculiarity is saved again, the note exports as a non slide. I've also updated the tab notation to display question marks in this scenario and the dialog functions and manual also now reflect the meaning of the slide's end position. And on that note, the latest hotfix (9-15-2015) is in the first post. Changes are as follows: *Fixed a bug with the sorting logic that would prevent temporary notes from being properly removed after Rocksmith 2 export. *Fixed a bug with the "Edit frets/fingering" dialog where setting a string to be muted would cause EOF to incorrectly ask to set a high fret limit for the track. *Added error checking to RS export's handling of pitched and unpitched slides.

  40. I'm going to state at this point there's no way to implement this with the next release of Ignition. I am highly interested in all of your feedback for this feature and will like to look at all of our options. I've found new songs via this method before and as a music website it's major that we cover not only finding songs you know and love, but new ones as well. Please continue to discuss methods and we'll look into it in the future releases of our products.

  41. A fan of four teams? Anyway, I wouldn't describe myself as a big fan of any team, but growing up in western NY the team I have the most connections with are the Bills. Pity me and my friends. I Billieve that they will raise our hopes (great start!), crater out of the playoff race in a devastating fashion, then in the off-season myopically mortgage the future for a present that won't quite work out, then rinse and repeat. And I don't think you're really going out on a limb by selecting that as the game of the week. Never a bad thing (at least for the spectators) to have some of the best teams and QBs match up during the regular season.

  42. Oh, yeah. Forgot to say - for Royal Blood, I had to stop at the start to find my 20th fret… then I didn't bother with any of the chords, and I forgot where my 20th fret was by the time it came around again… lol. I'd love to practice it this week, but what wit the tuning down, and the work I know I have to do on the Jacksons, it's not going to happen. :(

  48. I really shouldn't respond as I just picked it back up after a year long depression and couldn't do much of anything but, right now, my motivation is because I want to be like the artists who play the music professionally. Not that I want to be a professional, but I idolize the creators and want to show myself that I can be like them with steady practice. Also, I get really passionate about certain songs and feel closer to them if I can learn them. I enjoy using my fingers to make things happen whether thats on Starcraft or on my bass guitar.

  49. Remember - If you're going to spend ages typing out a big long story with accurate grammar, capitalise the title - Don't give CDLC creators too much credit, most of them started playing guitar in the last year or two - they have no experience with real life pedals never mind software equivalents, and their tones probably don't even sound that nice on their own systems - Making tones is normally the end of the CDLC process, and creators have already spend umpteen hours scratching heads and balls trying to figure stuff out - they just want the bloody thing out, not spend another 3 hours trying tones until their ears bleed - You can always engage your own tone, press 2, 3 or 4 after the song starts - The Rocksmith sound engine is not a $3000 one-amp simulation plug in, its pretty darn hard to get things "perfect" - there are even some Ubi tones which I think are dreadful - You can alter pitch on any CDLC in approx 30 seconds, depending on the speed of your pc - There's no accounting for taste I hope you don't think I'm just being sarcastic, I did enjoy your piece and agree with most of it. I just think that you are aiming way, way too high with your criticisms and advice. You are up at degree level, where most of the people you are trying to help are down at primary school level (dunno what its called in the States). Honestly, try making a CDLC and you may end up being more sympathetic. I do know what you mean though, and I barely download any CDLCs any more because I invariably end up disappointed.
