  2. Hey all, I'm taking a leave of absence for about a month. (I'll be around to monitor, etc). I have a wrist surgery scheduled today @ noon EST. Obviously I won't be able to play guitar, type, do basic functions for awhile until I get my cast removed and my hand is healed. (FYI: I have a cyst on top of a nerve on my left wrist which is my primary hand...and surprisingly I play guitar right handed) Hopefully everything goes perfect. My wonderful staff here at CustomsForge will take care of the site while I am in recovery/rehab. And yes, a month or so without guitar is going to drive me literally insane. My calluses will go away and everything :( But I'm looking forward to even getting better after the surgery! See you all in a month. - Mark edit: I'm recovering now and they said it was huge! Thanks for all of the support. edit2: 4/16/2015 Update New cast and a new prescription of oxy for the pain. I've been dealing with pain but I do have full movement coming back to my hand. I just can't use it for another two weeks and I have a follow up in 4 weeks. Thanks for all your messages. Here's a cast I wish you all could sign for me :) http://i.imgur.com/sIwjoma.jpg

  6. Date Rape Bass, 96,26% Despite the high score, this doesnt feel like comfortable to play, i'll need some work here. In the Name of God, 74% Long-ass song with a low-ass tuning, and a solo which is freaking fast and uses way to many notes above the 22nd fret which i dont have (but doenst really make a difference)... yeaaah. The song is cool! Love that chord riff where it goes C -D#-D-C#- D#-D-C#, but this would be way too much work. ..Its DT, i didnt really expected anything different, Petrucci is just way to good and i suck too hard for that ;D Good choice @@Nacholede (sorta...) Heretic & Killers Played this one too, and i'll only have to say NOPE NOPE NOPEDY NOPE! Dont like that song, dont want to play it ever. cheers!

  14. I would like to see the genres of music inside the new search engine. Its most likely a large feature to implement that's going to take a lot of time and work. But i think its going to benefit into to the development of Ignition. For me its going help and in a sense motivate me into putting a genre that i like in the filter and find new music for me to learn and play. Because right now its difficult and time consuming to find a new band that i would like within the Custom forge database, without it being a band that i know. it would be very awesome is you guys can do this for me and think i'm not the only one thinking this also.

  15. Afternoon, Just wondering if we have any members on the Forum who have tinkered with creating hardware for audio manipulation. I'm currently thinking of making some basic analog footswitches and a Class-D amplifier and would really like some insight from anyone who has attempted anything like this in the past. I'm currently digitising the circuit diagram of an idea and will upload when I have finished. A lot of forums on the internet give the circuit diagram but don't particularly explain what exactly is going on. And it would be great to understand the concepts, so that one can improve or modifier existing implementations. Thanks, and have a wonderful day.

  18. I still can't make it through Fishbone Date Rape on score attack. Are the screens I'm posting actually admissible? Technically, I get the same screen if I exit after playing the whole song on RR at a slower speed. I doubt that I am at any risk of winning this week's coveted bragging rights, so it isn't worth violating the loophole (in a song about date rape - ewww!). So here's what I've got. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=421910181 92% accuracy, 249 longest streak, scouts honour that I wasn't using RR.

  32. I got an acoustic Guitar as christmas present from my wife when I was 29 years old. Now I am 31 years old. I Didn't find any good books or structured way of learning the guitar online that I liked before I discovered justinguitar.com . I have been following justinguitar on and off for 2 years. Sometimes it was hard to keep motivation up and I had periods where I played everyday and other times when I didn't play at all for 3-4 months. I'm at beginner course stage 6 now. I have tendencies to quit or give up things I start with after a while, so I'm glad that I have still stuck with it. I always wanted to try out rocksmith 2014 but didn't have a electric guitar. 1 month ago I bougth a cheap electric guitar and got rocksmith right away. It is a fun way to practise and keep motivation and it compliments justinguitar in some way. I just heard about the championship and it sounds like a good idea for keeping motivation and getting better.

  47. I built this from kit parts. The kit had everything except the body and pick guard. I had a nice piece of wood around but it took some creative cutting. The only shape that would fit was a cross between a Tele and a Jag. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=399013419 I had to improvise a pick guard, so I sacrificed and old 45. I've only been playing the bass for the last several months. I don't like the body that I made. I'll make another body before I post a picture of it.

  48. As for types of pedals, for jazz, I'd imagine a compresser pedal is a must, to help with the cleans (give it a boost, even out the dynamics) and a chorus pedal to give the sound a little more beef by adding some modulation. This is often the classic jazz sound. For blues, you'll need some overdrive to add some dirt, to push your amp to break up more (assuming your using a tube amp). The Ibanez Tubescreamer is the classic pedal, and it's spawned many variants, like the well-regarded Klon Centaur. Timmy is another popular overdrive. Soul Food by EVH is newer and is a good transparent overdrive. There are many more. Get something good for low-gain and is transparent. For rock, you'll want to beef up the distortion so you want something that can crunch more, so some of the classic models are the Boss DD-1, Rat, etc. I like the Fulltone OCD for it's Marshalll-like gain sounds. You can mix and match, like some people use a TS pedal (Tubescreamer type) and then feed it into a Rat pedal or Timmy for when they want to rock out more, for more beefy crunch or for solo/leads. I like using a booster/compressor pedal for this, too: RC Booster, BB Pre-amp, Boss Super Overdrive, Keeley Compresser., Zvex Super Hard on. Feed one of these into your overdrive/distortion, or put it after. It'll change the sound depending on where you place it. When playing live, you'll want to boost your signal at times, either to cut through the mix, or for to use it for leads, so it's good to find a pair of pedals that you find work well. Sometimes pedals don't play well with one another so you have to experiment. If you doing Hendrix or Queens of the Stone Age (or Smashing Pumpkins), then I'd suggest a fuzz pedal, like a Big Muff, in addition, but it's only if you are playing tunes that need that sound. A lot of Hendrix stuff can get by with a Marshall-type distortion pedal like the Fulltone OCD (or cranking a Marshall stack). Add a reverb or delay pedal to fill out the sound like EHX Holy Grail, Hardwire DL-8. TC Electronics Flashback, etc. As with distortion/overdrive, there are lots of choices. Also, wah pedals are really fun, like a Cry Baby. Great for Hendrix/Robin Trower stuff. You could look at volume pedals, too, which also can help you boost, or lower your sound for rhythm, solo, or to help cut through the mix. If you play at a lot of different locations or playing through different gear, an EQ can come in really handy, as your gear may sound drastically different from place to place. Having said all of that, I've really fallen in love with the Zoom Multi-stomp pedals. They emulate a lot of the classic pedals all in one box. Plus you can chain several of them together, all in one patch. I can connect a Tubescreamer to a chorus, compressor, delay and a eq, one patch, have a chorus, compression in another, a pitch shifter with a fuzz pedal in yet another patch, use a Klon with a rotarty effect in the next patch. It even has amp/cab modeling in it, but I mainly just turn that off (but handy if you want to plug in direct to a PA or recording straight into a computer without needing an amp). It really cut down my need for a lot of pedals. I got the Zoom MS-100BT which allows me to buy even more emulated pedals through their iOS StompShare store. If you don't have an iOS device, then look at the Zoom MS-50g which is similar but without the bluetooth/iOS store functionality, or get the Zoom MS-70CDR for only delays and modulations. Right now I'm using a distortion pedal in front of my amp, and a Zoom MS-100BT in the effects loops for delay and modulation, but the new distortion pedals they released via Stompshare are really good. I might buy another Zoom MS-100BT to put in front of my amp and ditch my distortion. You could also look at the Zoom G3/G3X/G5 if you want something more robust. They have more footswitches on it and looping abilities. For me, if I need more footswitches, I'll just buy another Multi-stomp, or take a look at the new budget Zoom G1on. I'd probably suggest doing a hybrid, to cut down costs and give you more flexibility. Get some traditional pedals, and mix it with a multi-effects unit. I use to buy a ton of pedals, and you can easily spend over a ton of money.
