I am 35 now, started playing at age 13 when I moved to Puerto Rico and an aunt gave me a beat up old acoustic she had lying around because I said I wanted to learn to play. I got a few friends to teach me a bit of what they knew like chords and learned a few songs like La Bamba and Hotel California (Rhythm path lol). For the next 2 years after that I played pretty much every day but only played simple songs and practiced chords. After that I lost interest as I moved Back to New York and lost the friends I had that knew how to play guitar. Never took any lessons as I didn't have money for that. During the years that passed I maybe picked up the guitar 2 to 3 times a year when I had the time and motivation but never kept up with it throughout the years. Fast forward to 2012 when I first found Rocksmith. I tried it out and played around with it for maybe a month but the original Rocksmith sucked because it forced you to re-tune after every song and the Riff Repeater it had back then left a lot to be desired. So even though there was a vast library of Customs available I just could not keep playing with it. Fast forward some more to 2013/2014? when RS 2014 was released and then the customs started being released for it and I haven't looked back. I Started joining in the championships back at Smithy Anvil and loved every minute of it, then Smithy exploded and we ended up here. I have played RS at least 4 - 5 times a week since that time and am extremely happy about it.

@@Captain Kitty Whiskers When i get random misses on the low D on drop d tunings it is usually because i press the string to hard. You can check the ingame tuner for that. (press esc and look in the lower left corner when you fret the notes). There was more said in morse, but it made me cry. Tried in RR... there's no Riffs to repeat, just the whole song and I ain't slowing down 15 minutes... I've just seen Interstellar, no way I'm coming back from riff repeating that and finding I'm younger than my kids ;) <3 Dream Theater (Theatre) though :)

I started playing when I was 20 (just turned 30), bought a cheap acoustic from a friend and became obsessed with everything that made noise. Guitar, bass, synth and a whole mess of noise makers that sounded cool. Unfortunately I just kind of sucked at guitar, I'm terrible playing anything more than double stops and eventually it dwindled down to playing Black Bird twice a year. Never really took the time to learn more than a couple of sloppy bass lines, I was an armchair musician. So Rocksmith shows up and I think I finally have the perfect tool to get good at guitar. :rolleyes:. Started losing interest again until the bass expansion came out, completely hooked me and I actually started improving. 2014 came out and I doubled down, got better. Sobered up last winter and spent 3-4 hrs a day playing instead of boozing. My Xbox took a shit 6 months ago so I started playing to customs on youtube. Upgraded my computer for Christmas and here we are.

By the way there is some errors in chord (a change not taken into account) Exogenesis : Nothing to say it's ok, but I sorted CDLC by artist and Exogenesis part 1 was not at the right place. I love having "older" people around :) same musical taste and views on crap, always seem to end up in a guild full of the decrepit lmao I'm 40 now and never played guitar until about 2 years ago, I always bought guitars then promptly put them in a cupboard only to give away to friends and family later. Anyway I hurt myself quite badly about 6 yrs ago so all my hobbies went out the window, bought an acoustic 2 years ago for £60 (cant work so no fancy gear for me now i want to play :P ), then a knockoff strat for £80, so unimpressed with it I took a saw to it to see if it was even wood... MDF in 4 layers, badly cut at that, so into the bin that went. Got an EPI LP "special" for about 80 after a few months and still have it, it's not great but at least it intonates lol. About 6 months ago I discovered I had torn tendons on my fretting hand (no luck) even tho I have been to physio etc there has been no joy in sorting it out. Any prolonged power or barre chords just kill me. I've been building up the neck thickness of the EPI and it seems to be helping slightly so I plan to buy http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_l450plus_honey_burst.htm in a few months, if they confirm the neck depth. Seems to have rave reviews and sounds very nice from the vids I can find. Hope to be able to keep the championship entries flying :)

I'm just curious, but do most people in the championship play back through system speakers, amps, or headsets/earbuds? I use the earbuds myself because i don't have a good place to practice without bothering the rest of the household, but i really like the sound out of the speakers when i can.

Headphones here but I desperately need a new pair. They're sufficient but I'd prefer to rig up an amp but that's out of my price range... Birthday is in October, some decent cans would be acceptable... Hint, hint to my better half :)

@@Brooklyn_Sounds I played Recess a few days ago I don't know if anything's changed since then but I agree with @@BHMath , the echo tone is too fast. I would rather use slides than bends since whammy isn't an option in this case and slides sound more similar to whammy. That's all :)

Hey guys, Quick question is there a way to "help" rocksmith with recognising notes when playing with D string on bass, as some notes just don't register and I know 100% I have played it right? Example is a string of notes on the 5th fret, I get 1st few and then miss next few, and finally back to hitting them again even when I'm not changing anything and IRL the notes don't sound any different no twanging etc... T_T. Because of this I feel a little cheated out of today's Inter song, as well as anything with a D string in it. I think the audio code he was posting was for Allegro 5. It does various thigs quite differently from Allegro 4. I can ask if he thinks it would be reasonably easy to do something similar in Allegro 4. About that ticket, there were multiple issues, but I'll bump the thread to ask if there's anything left to fix.

I also have tried the Nacholede's version in lead.... but for me the old version plays still easier (I practiced on this), especially the solo with better finger settings, but just my opinion. I'm still playing the old version from Bernixix, for me it's a good one, no wrong parts nor deviation compared with music. Just many tiny details to consider. I've never looked into venues too much in RS14. I know it changes itself, and I must have unlocked everything by now, and sometimes you do get some serious crowd noise, but it's not the same as having named venues with themes - dingy little club, decent sized hall, theatre, stadium. Is there a way to choose where you play in RS14? And yeah, event mode it was that I really liked. Even qualifying the songs was a nice mini-challenge. Screenies of some top event mode scores? Think I hit 1.5 million one time, but it completely depends on the encores it throws you. 2 encores you can play and score in master mode and you were on a scoring rampage :D

Every single one of these issues I complained about too when RS14 first came out :D But after a while, I'd never consider going back to RS12. RS14 is superior in every way that matters... note detection, latency, riff repeater inside the song, tone changes, techniques (bends, slides, unpitched slides, linked notes), available customs, higher audio quality possible, etc etc etc And if you keep pressing Esc you can skip the login to Ubi (think there is once you need to press Enter, but its all Esc, Esc, Esc). I think once you try Session Mode you will forget all about RS12 :D I do miss the performances though, cute blond girl really liked my guitar playing :(

If anything besides multi player, I'd like to see even more tone slots, sometimes 4 feels a bit limited. Also the keyboard support would be really nice, I mean I have synesthesia, but it would be better if I could listen to an mp3 of the song instead of a MIDI file playing in the background. And finally, being able to edit the tones that a songs uses would be amazing to me.

I think, if need extra $ for development, enough post goal at main page, with target "For add tag Genre" with the desired amount. Personaly i know only maybe 10-20 bands from 10000 cdlc, and don`t know what i can play yet for fun, so i simple download a few cdlc in week for to try, and most time I see that this is not that what i want play, so as i dont known what genre is band. Now there no tags genre for search good tune, only way random take some cdlc, huge wasting time for find good tune. And personally for my main priority is tags and rates, new disign it is wasting time and money, old face was enough good and clear see.

I would like to not suck. Barring that, I would like to suck less.
