Small improvement on the new version

http://s21.postimg.org/ht2y75ufb/2015_07_26_00004.jpg

Mostly here to say what I meant from last night:

http://s29.postimg.org/n3oyopxef/2015_07_26_00003.jpg

The missing notes here are a small 5-6-8-6-5-6-5 run on the E that Kirk does, and I can hear it on the original (@ 8:10 on the video from the record, right hand speaker for headphone users :D )

Kalltoloo update! Version 2.2 (N-DD 2.2) --> added missing notes in lead arrangement right before that explosive outro kicks in!

Since there is a 4 tone swap limit and that arrangement didn't have any clean tone, I had to get rid of one tone... let's see if you find out which one and see if it works

Dude, you're very observant! Gotta thank your sharp ear for that, otherwise surely wouldn't have noticed!

Listening these notes very carefully resulted in something like 5-6-6-8-5-6-5-6p-5h-5 which is indeed pretty close to your proposal. Thanks again  :)

Rocksmith is too kind on me, it thinks that my noise in the intro is some right playing, and random shread going from my fingers hit a bunch of notes in the part of solo below 19 fret :)

And I am still not sure that intro is tabbed right for This will never end. You can try to look at some of their lives, and it seems for me they don't move their hands from 3rd fret to 7th. Maybe I think so cuz it seems impossible for me to move hand between bass 3rd fret down to 7 fret so fast and play it clean? (Maybe that high notes should be shifted one string to play them using first 3 frets?) It seems there is no covers on youtube or other videos where we can clearly see how its played. Of course, almost everywhere 3rd fret on six string should be palmmuted.

Here: http://i71.fastpic.ru/big/2015/0727/33/4ef89c23002aea002d944b728693f433.png
That note sounds like it is normal, but frethand muted immediately, not palmmuted.

Yellow note sounds in music like a usual without any harmonic.

I've tried to listen to other places, but there is so much sounds that sometimes I can't cleanly hear.

Hmm. just discovered this one uses the 23rd fret on the high e string... but I guess you could bend that up to that one note.
When I see stuff like that, I always wonder if it is a "mistake" in the chart, or if guitars with more than 22 frets are really that widely spread... Anyway, I think there should be an "intrument requiremend" entry for this sort of thing...

One of the Blind Guardian guitarists have a 24-freat guitar as I can see from lives.

Edit: and it seems we need to fix the chords part https://youtu.be/sjEMO32cw0o?t=1m54sHere you can see they don't play that -310-- chord (Bm??).

Edit2: and returning to first screenshot prove: https://youtu.be/sjEMO32cw0o?t=2m34s(he even plays it on next string)

Whole Lotta Love

Lead dl 5

tab 9 - good tab but everything is played with powerchords. It sounds like later there also 3rds played, but of course it can be played with powechords, makes it easier.

sync 9, only the first few notes are a little bit off, but noticed that only in eof.

tone 6-7, maybe also a question of taste, but I really don't like this tone... I just loaded it in Sound Designer and took off the distortion, turned the amp gain to 100 and treble to 80. In the eq loop pedal turned the frequency 5,7khz to 10db. Was much better then.

Bass dl 2

tab 9 - also good tab here, but for me it sounds like all E notes are written 1 octave too high. I think it should be open E string, not A7, but maybe I'm wrong...

sync 9, tone 8

@@bernixix - with the string of 16th note bends I kept getting misses and couldn't entirely figure out what was going on, but after a closer look, I think some things will need to be changed. It looks like for each of the notes it's expecting us to release and then rebend, which is just not possible at that speed (I'm pretty sure even with Cliff fingers) and always led me to get several misses even at slow speeds.

Closer look at the end:

It sounds to me like these should be "pre-bend and held" bends that gradually increase in bend strength as the line goes on.

Probably the easiest way I can think of to fix this would be making a measure of tremelo and having it gradually bend from nothing to the final bend strength. The big drawback with this is that I don't think there's really an opportunity to "rack up" misses as you do with separate 16th notes if you play it wrong (i.e. I'm pretty sure a tremolo just counts as one note so you don't get appropriately punished if you mess it up).

The ideal would be to have each bend set individually to be pre-bent and held. Seems like it would be slightly annoying to do, but I guess this song deserves it  :D.

Hya guys! I'll try to get a new version of This will never end out tomorrow.

It's been a while since I made it, my understanding of musical theory has improved over the last couple of months :p
I'll try to fix as many of the problems as possible.

The same thing with increasing bend is used in the Rocksmith version of Smoke on the Water solo. So it is possible to check it there.

@@albatross213 mmm I might need some help to fix this... maybe 2 tired to figure out... will take a look at it tomorrow!

No worries about doing it immediately! I can try to do a mockup tonight and take screenshots of it if it in EoF and in game if it seems to turn out right.

Edit: Well, after a few attempts, including using a song file and tones that I've already used for a CDLC, I keep having the game freeze after tuning but before the note highway appears. Don't really know what's going on with that.

Hungover as hell, but let's open 'em up!

Hope you guys love this track as much as I do. Lots of variation in riffs and a good balance of simple and complex.

I feel like a few months back this would have been something I could get close to 100% on sightread, but I struggled even with that chord and muted E bit. Maybe I'll do better after some rest.

About the moving hands from 3rd fret to 7th. Nice find in the video. You have to keep in mind though that a lot of bands (including Blind Guardian) rearrange their songs for live shows. It is possible that it was played differently in the studio version. Nevertheless I would really like to see that hand position shift gone, too! It seems kind of impossible for me at the moment :-)

Check out my easy tutorial on how to add a metronome to your CDLC: Mute the original music, play only with the metronome and find out how good you really sound! Also: Find CDLCs that have the metronome enabled!

Want a USB-Footswitch that you can use to control the tone selection and all the menus in Rocksmith? Check out Rodman's Tutorial and my additions to that!  Footswitch_Logo.png

My CDLCs: Devin Townsend - Life, Deep Peace, Ih-Ah!, Deadhead; Farin Urlaub - Ok

My ideas for new features in Ignition, e.g. filters for Multitrack CDLC and Metronome CDLC.
