  1. My guitar was constantly going out of tuning, so it was a bit harder to play, but here are my scores :D http://i.imgur.com/4aa2sLR.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/O6iOh3L.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/jYkVc0j.jpg

  2. I was on a roll today so why not? http://s11.postimg.org/l6wa3pd9v/2015_09_19_00002.jpg Intermediate Lead - 90%, 39 streak I almost mastered the chord part. Though solo is where the battle will take place :) Advanced Lead - 93%, streak 198 I played other versions (they do not differ much) a lot and it's not my best. That part before solo, was always killing me in Guitar Hero. Nothing has changed :( MasterClass Lead - 75%, 37 streak That felt like Jimmy Page! Haha, everytime when I hit this hybrid-picked chords I feel like lord of the universe. Most of the song is insane, even this Am7s gives me trouble. At least the power chord section is easy :P

  3. For every charter who uses a folder to share their customs. We've decided to ban the use of such folders. 1. Charters forget to remove songs that are now official dlc. 2. Once you have a folder with 150 songs it is very annoying to find the song you are looking for. Please use Direct links or a folder for a single song in the case of platforms/multitracks! We will give charters the time till the 11th of October to change out their links. After that date we will remove such links.

  4. These are all first plays, no RR or playthrough in LAS, bit busy and about to go to bed but here's the fresh screenies from this evenings plank spanking. Elvis Presley: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=522009362 Lovely bass line :) a joy to play, very neat and tidy and nice to see conversation with all the instruments. Can't say I'm a fan of EP but he knew how to sing the shit out of a song :) Pink Floyd: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=522009295 I liked this, despite it having rather long intervals between notes, I do enjoy playing the odd chord here and there and even got some without a miss! Yay me! Nicely fitting for intermediate :) Metallica: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=522009243 I haven't listened to this song in about 25 years  Shame on me! It's got a nifty bass line, I'm definitely going to work on that as it is heaps of fun to play :) Led Zep: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=522011478 I watched @@bernixix's video of this a while back and it blew me away, I never dared try it though 'til today. I was doing quite well then I went right off my stride... I made it through the tricky widdley bit with not much error but then it all went Pete Tong and I got kissed to death. definitely going to put in some practice on this, it's allllll over the neck, and that's my kinda fun! :)

  5. Makes me feel a bit better that your score on this isn't that much better than on the MC song! Anyway, here's mine http://i.imgur.com/VeAKVYI.jpg My take - it's not actually that hard, but the way the song is, it depresses your score relative to most other songs. Most of the more complex chords are strummed only once (with the exception being one in each progression that's strummed twice!), and the rest is solo, so there aren't really any truly brainless easy notes to buff up your percentage. This is as opposed to... http://i.imgur.com/cd9bFTn.jpg which has all of those chugga-chuggas. And my picking was pretty off on this take. With a decent of practice (which will be useful for palm muting technique, finding the right string with the pick consistently, and some other things that I suck at) I can probably take that to 95% or so within the week. Not sure yet how I'll allocate my practice time between the different paths. I feel like I'll probably do just enough on the Pink Floyd to crack 80%, then focus on improving my rhythm skills and chasing the leaderboard on The Lemon Song.

  12. Back after a slight absence, finishing up college life (last time, I swear) and moving house didn't leave me with a lot of time, but no matter. Week 100, quite an accomplishment for everyone involved in running the championship, and what a line up ! Metallica: http://i59.tinypic.com/2m5m1xu.png Not bad, only the double time riff in the middle is giving me a bit of difficulty. Comfortably Numb coming along nicely, still got five or six sections of the solo to nail down, slightly blistered one or two fingers today :) Hoping to get those two out of the way before too long and spend the rest of the week on World on Fire, looks like fun !

  14. I was traveling all week and couldn't bring a bass. I'm planning to build a travel bass, but it will take a while. So today's scores are hampered by fat finger syndrome. Jailhouse Rock - after score attack, I must have pressed the wrong key instead of [F12] because the screen shot is nowhere to be found. It was high 90s, no red "X" marks, but could still use some tidying up. Comfortably Numb - 96.45% and most of the errors seem to timing related. So I have a couple of things to work on this week, and a couple of ideas of how to offend the FreeBird Police.

  15. Hi all, actually I'm creating customs from Guitar Pro tabs that I wrote for education. This blues exercises are inspired by the book "Play Blues Guitar" by Jürgen Kumlehn, but I took only the riffs (Lead) and create full tracks of it with Lead, Rhythm, Bass and Drums in GP6. Thanks to Guitar Pro 6 which is able to convert the tabs also to wav, so I use the GP audio. (To record everything would be much to much work). The idea is to use this customs for practicing some standard blues riffs in typical 12 bar shape, in this case for accompaniment. The shapes are here as followed, always 12 bars then repeat, every shape is played 4 times. The steps are written in Roman numerals. A step belongs to the chord of it's ascending scale. If i.e. A Major is the key, the Chords to this key are A, Bm, C#m, D, E, F#m, G#mb5. Standard 12 Bar Blues shape uses only A, D, E, what are at the steps 1, 4 and 5, thus I, IV and V in this case the shape: I I I I IV IV I I V IV I V this formula works in all keys Of course you can use it also to improvise, every custom of them will have an additional bonus track without any notes for jamming. Metronome tracks are also available for each path (bonus) except the Bonus Jam Track. we start with easy ones Exercise 1 Blues Comping 1 shuffled 8ths in A major 12 Bar Blues accompaniment in A-major @ 90 bpm, easy level on all paths. The tabs for all arrangements are written by myself, also drums and bass. Lead Rhythm Bass http://thumbs.picr.de/23142836tl.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23174590zs.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23174640ic.jpg Exercise 2 Blues Comping 2 in A major with straight eights @ 120 bpm again an easy one with single notes on lead guitar, rhythm guitar with chords and bass. Lead Rhythm Bass http://thumbs.picr.de/23174889hb.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23174891zn.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23174908we.jpg Exercise 3 Blues Comping 3 in G major @ 120 bpm, advanced level Again a 12 Bar Blues, this one is a little bit harder, especially the rhythm guitar since it's played in a funky rhythm quite a lot of fun if you've got the groove Lead Rhythm Bass http://thumbs.picr.de/23201246ep.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23201266xx.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23201281qn.jpg Exercise 4 Blues Comping 4 in E major @ 90 bpm (shuffle) 12 Bar, all paths Lead Rhythm Bass http://thumbs.picr.de/23267054sh.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23267071da.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/23267115mz.jpg Part 2 Now let's continue with some more advanced stuff The next track is from Peter Fischer's book Survival Guitar, chapter Blues. I took the soundtrack from CD and modified it a bit, cut, copied and pasted 3 chorus into the song that it has 4 12 Bar chorus instead only one. Now we have the same lenght than all other exercises and a great sounding backingtrack (no GP RSE this time). Also I managed to add a "Vocals" track which shows information every bar i.e.: 1 - E7 (I) what means bar number of a chorus (1), actual chord (E7) on this step (I). (I will update all other exrecises with this feature later.) This exercise still uses the same shape like the first 4 exercises, I-I-I-I-IV-IV-I-I-V-IV-I-V, but now we have a turnaround in the 11th bar and as an Intro before the first bar. also the lead path is played with some rakes what makes it more advanced. Rhythm path is mostly offbeat with deadnotes (chords) in between, and the song is again in shuffle/swing feel at ~115bpm. The bass plays a walking bass line. Like all others it has metronome as bonus track on all paths and on lead a Jam-bonus track without any notes for improvisation. Exercise 5 Blues Comping 5 in E major the sheets: Lead Rhythm Bass http://thumbs.picr.de/24690165ze.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/24693015bl.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/24690188gr.jpg -enjoy this 5th exercise- Exercise 6 The next one is again the 12 bar shape like usual with an additional Quickchange on the 2nd Bar, IV instead I. Now the 12 bar shape looks like this I IV I I IV IV I I V IV I V With a rate of 140bpm and a shuffle/swing feel it's on a higher level. Also it includes any turnarounds. all tabs and music of these are created by myself, only helper was GP6 which enabled sheets and sound (and of course EOF and all other amazing tools that are needed to create any cdlc, thanks to the developers :) ). Blues Comping 6 in B major the sheets Lead Rhythm Bass http://thumbs.picr.de/24947606qf.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/24947608sx.jpg http://thumbs.picr.de/24947612hi.jpg I try to show always only one page of the sheet for every arrangement, so it requires sometimes to hide the traditional note system, then only the tablature is shown. At this one I had to do the screenshots earlier since I created a second drum and decided to mix them, therefore I had to split up the repeats to have the first two chorus a halftime shuffle and the 3dr and 4th more forward drums. Unfortunately later in EOF I decided to change the first three bars note positions at Lead in every chorus, same notes but easier to handle, so this three bars are not exactly the same as in the sheet. Challenge 7 for the next track I don't provide tabs since it's just too much, too many variations because it's a real audio recorded by myself with drum, bass and 2 guitars. For more information see the release notes at the record page. If you need tabs you can extract them with the RS to Tab tool or with the newest Toolkit, I heard this can do the job as well. Now folows as promised a 12 bar Minor Blues in this shape with a quick change at 2nd bar I m7 IV m7 I m7 I m7 IV m7 IV m7 I m7 I m7 bVI 7 V7 I m7 V7 Fripples - B-Minor-Blues (blues comping7) is a cosy shuffle @ 98bpm this time it's not named as a You exercise but rather a full value song, performed by me. The cdlc contains a Rhythm guitar which is the Blues comping 7 Lead guitar which is an improvisation, nice solo blues licks the whole song Bass guitar of course additional I created tracks with muted instruments from the multirack, but I suggest, esp the solo guitar, have a good ear on it (the main track with all instruments) before playing the muted ones, because RS of course is not capable to display things like articulation, so play also with your ears and your heart! Challenge 8 this is another tune I created by my own. Like the B-Minor I composed, played and recorded all instruments and finally mixed down in home production. More informations about the production and the set up you find at the record page of this custom. It's another 12 Bar Blues in G-minor, slightly different shape than before: Fonk de Blues it starts with a 8 bar funky pentatonic riff, then follows the 12 bar blues shape in a funky way (2x) then over 2 chorus (12 bar bs) a guitar solo, then 8 bars a catchy octave vamp, again the 12 bar theme (2x) then the riff from start 8 bars, last but not least 8 bars the octave vamp as an outro the blues shape now looks like that Im Im Im Im IVm IVm Im Im V7 IVm Im V7#9 Fripples - Fonk de Blues (Blues Comping As already said the lead guitar has a nice solo in the middle, some funky riffs and a single note line during the 12 bar shape. The rhythm guitar doubles the riff and the vamp once, the second time it's doubled transposed by an octave up. At the blues shape parts the rhythm guitar plays chords and many dead notes with wah pedal. The bass is a nice and groovy slap line. Key is G-minor, straight eights at 102 bpm, very nice to play (and to listen I mean) Again I made also a No Lead, No Rhythm and No Bass track with the multitrack audio. enjoy it! have fun with this challenging exercises, I do

OK, so after watching the video tutorial on making CLDC's made by @@SkepticSquid here: http://customsforge.com/topic/841-how-to-make-cdlc-full-in-depth-tut-completed/ some of us still have difficulties so I thought that a non-video tutorial with screenshots and text instead might also be helpful, let's start: I've divided everything into 6 sections, some of them are currently in progress, but in the end you will be able to make your own customs for Rocksmith 2014. 18. A couple of weeks ago the shoulder of my fretting hand started bothering me. I didn't think too much about it, just figured I'd tweaked it somehow. Well, it didn't go away and I eventually realized it's injured/inflamed because of the way I have to hold the guitar/bass while playing in my office chair. Because it has non-movable integrated arms, I'm forced to keep my elbow and arm at an unnatural position on the outside of the chair. Your body can deal with some of that nonsense, but if you play too much with an unnatural position like that you will injure yourself. Since I realized the problem I've been sitting on a large pillow to elevate myself above the arms. More generally, be aware of how you hold your guitar and avoid bad habits or positions that will lead to injury.

  27. @@GetTheLedOut Thanks for having a look! Do you think it's worth keeping this sync or should I still mess around with it? I think it's ok for the most part now tough. But my opinion may be skewed since I have been trying to sync it for so long. (already made a few small slight adjustments where some notes where off after I uploaded it, but not much) And yeah, I really figured how to properly sync with the 2nd track I did (still not finished those cdlc's tough). Spend a few hours on that one until I figured it out, and got it under half an hour when I got the hang of it. I spend hours going back and forth on this one tough, so it's nice to hear you think I did a good job with it  I'll probably open up a thread, later today, in the workshop section so I can keep everything in the same place with some specific questions per song I'm working on. And probably upload test-cdlc's over there for the last two, so people who want, can have a test run on them before I upload the cdlc. As I want them to be good enough so people actually want to play or learn the songs. And I know I could probably pick a lot easier songs but you could say I like a challenge :D

So if you @@Nacholede finished it i will be happy :) There link to all files of EOF project and audio I will check at next week where i`m stop, if need will make audio mix for lead only with same timing, If you need some files, say me. 31. Totally bungled the outro by losing my fret hand position a few times, but a lot better than my first try (I'm not sure why it says I have 3... I played it, RRed the early parts of the song, then played it again. Then again, the RR acts pretty weird with various things not lining up when you choose your sections, so maybe the logic for determining when you've hit the end is messed up.) http://i.imgur.com/dDyTcJz.jpg Also, fuck those slides. "Capped" slides that shouldn't have end-notes on almost every slide, a pitched slide down to the first fret for the ring finger (a personal pet peeve), and some fretting logic around the slides that sometimes doesn't make sense at all to me. Most of it I can deal with, but I'd much rather just not have to deal with it at all. And with that, I guess I've beaten everyone from last time except Blazikiller and Choaralone. I guess that's the target now. I think 99% should be doable with knowing the song better and having a run where I don't mess up hand positioning too much, but hitting 99.5% or above is going to be really hard with those slides.

  35. Depending on your computer, you can try adjusting the AV Delay in File>Settings to improve the video sync during playback. Video sync is never to be fully trusted though since if your computer lags at all the video can easily get out of sync. The audio cues like claps and metronome ticks are mixed into the audio at the sample level and it's basically impossible for them to get out of sync with the audio, so this is the main thing you should rely on when syncing a song. Which hotfix version are you using? If you see EOF crash (Windows says the program stopped working, had to close, etc.), try to see if you can cause it to crash again by doing what you were when it crashed. If you can ever reproduce a crash by opening EOF, opening a project file and performing a specific set of steps, let me know and I'll fix it.

  37. We played Stairway to Heaven (though not live version) on week 17. We played World on Fire on week 60 and Lemon Song on week 74. I decided to use this songs only because I wanted something really cool this week, and I would use other past played songs to fill other gaps, but fortunately there were none. And I wanted different song for MC bass this week, but couldn't get good quality version of it, so had to go with plan B (and I'm quite sad about that, as that bass song was great and I don't like Lemon Song :( ). There was only one instance when participant was allowed song that we already played. That was Hotel California - but it was played in dark ages and I couldn't say no to @@missis sumner. Though I use songs from the past as an emergency replacement (when song is too hard, or there is something terribly wrong with it) or when, again, I don't want to one class had no song two times in a row. But I try to keep it to absolute minimum.

  45. @@ShrillBear52 - Is there any chance you can post the EoF project on a file host? I think you just need the .ogg and the .eof files for other people to check things out. It would be a lot easier than trying to diagnose the problem based on a couple of screenshots that don't show nearly enough information about the EoF file.

  46. In addition to EOF, If you need help hearing the guitar part over everything else: Audacity (free) has a nice feature under the effects tab called Vocal Remover. With some songs (not all, depends on how the song was mixed) it gets rid of the vocals so you can hear the guitar part. When vocal remover doesn't work you can get rid of the bass by using a high pass filter set to around 500Hz. You can get rid of the cymbal crashes with low pass filter set to around 5,000Hz.

  47. @@Juggernaut72 - I don't know enough to say it's the best way to do it, but EoF actually has pretty much all of the functionality that you want. You can slow down to any percentage playback rate, you can make sure that the notes are synced exactly to the notes of the song, and all of that jazz. There's also midi playback, but I'm not sure how good it is. I might want to keep a tab version going in parallel too if I were doing this, but you'd probably be OK just keeping everything in EoF then doing "CDLC 2 Tab" when you're done with everything and have a finished product.
