  1. Exactly One year ago, there was week 27, first week I participated in. And that was really important moment for me, not only cause I became Organizer, but because of one particular band. But let's start with the beginning... Since seeing Championship back on Anvil, I wanted to give it a try. I wanted to learn how to play first, so I was not following RC at all. Then came the CustomForge age, and I was making progress at filling the DD bars. When I finally could play songs on Hard (well, Breaking the Law was quite easy, but still!), I decided to try myself with Championship. So I was coming from time to time, to check the beginner songs. When it was something like "Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band" I knew that I have practice more, but there were also songs like "I Miss the Misery", which I didn't liked and did not want to participate with. Late April, Week 27, I went to see what awaits me. Band? Metric. Song? Sick Muse. I had no idea what to expect, never heard about the band. Firstly, I watched the playtrough - "Huh, it looks like something I could do well with". Secondly I gave the try to official video - "That's not bad, not bad at all". So I played it, posted screen and downloaded all other Metric cdlc. Then I listened to their other songs. And I was blown away. First moment I heard Emily Haines sing "Can you hear my heart beating like a hammer", I knew that Metric won't be just other nice band. I become a fan. Phew, before only Metallica and Iron Maiden were making me nod so much. I don't want to waste your time with this personal crap but Championship introduced me to a band that become quite important to me. So here I want to thank everyone who made that happen: @@Kaijin, @@Joey, other Organizers that I didn't met, @@Aquilae for making wonderful cdlc of wonderful band and whoever selected Sick Muse (awesome guy for sure). Thanks guys, my life become better thanks to you :)

  2. I've had very little time to cram in bass practice so since my first runs on beg', int' and adv' I have literally practiced NONE and just meandered around with non championship songs that I like to listen to... then I came back to Nirvana for a bit because the bass line's pretty :) So... before I move on Saturday and since my internet is getting cut off tomorrow, a video. See you folks in approximately 6 days, when I will have a much more pleasant back drop! @@Mortalo might have sobered up from his "I love you man!" thing by then :)... though I hope not... that was nice to read :D http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=434904190

I too have found many new bands that I would have never thought to listen to because of the championships and my playing has gotten so much better because of the championships. And yet i follow method by@ with a few frethand muted strings and found it a bit easier, than play at one muted string.

  19. I never seen anyone compare Metallica to Garbage, that's two complitely different bands, but yeah I have to agree both are really good. Garbage got official dlc, so I can understand the sentiment, but I'm ok with cdlc for Metallica.

  20. Tried improve my score, and fail, but make video. My main issue for good score, it is correct muting C5 and bend at double stop at 8th fret (seems D3). And off course terrible timing. Hope yet improve quality play, need more practice. Look at video and found it very helpful, so found some extra mistake in my play, which not see in game. Sorry video blocked in German.

  27. I think I got it corrected for the next hotfix. I've been doing lots of code clean up during the past several revisions, things like removing redundant variable declarations (so that the one in a local block of code takes the scope from one defined further out) and a 32 bit variable turned into an 8 bit one. I think the offending change was r1389.

  33. I'd say the guy is trying to sell you a 2nd hand Godin, tbh. Seriously, though, Try out what you can - think about what you like or dislike about the guitars. Figure out if it feels right, and if it doesn't, think about why. Is the neck too big? The wrong shape? Higher fret access uncomfortable? Once you do this research, you can apply that to what you've got in mind. Do the JP series have the neck profile you liked, or not? What can you get from Godin?

  35. My advice: Go to a guitar shop and put your hands on guitars from 500 € to 900 €. You have to play a guitar to know if it fits to you. Don't look at names, don't look at the country they were produced. Just play them.

  36. Hi, folks. The latest hotfix (r1398) is in the first post. Changes are as follows: *Altered RS2 export to prevent duplicate single notes from exporting in the event of overlapping arpeggio phrases. *Added logic to remove the possibility of overlapping arpeggio phrases. *Changed the handling of time signatures so that the denominator (beat unit) alters the length of a beat as it does in music theory. To prevent unwanted alteration for existing projects' beat timings, this is not enabled by default for existing projects, but can be enabled or disabled by going into Song>Properties and toggling the "Use accurate time signatures" option. This makes a major change with how time signatures are treated in EOF. To prevent breaking anybody's tempo mapping, this song property is not enabled by default for existing projects, however it is enabled by default for new projects/imports. @@Alternity Give this a try, it looked like it imported your sample MIDI correctly, but I haven't stress tested the new logic.

  48. You can use your Rocksmith realtone cable, and you wouldn't need any pedals to start. They sell optional "accessories" like the stealth pedal (acts like a wah pedal or volume pedal), the iRig Blueboard (acts like a 4 pedal pedalboard, where you can assign each button on the Blueboard to control a pedal inside Amplitube), and some other accessories. None of the accessories are needed to start though, as everything can be controlled with your keyboard and mouse. I would suggest starting with Amplitube 3, as it contains all of the other versions of Amplitube (Amplitube Fender, Amplitube Metal, Amplitube Jimi Hendrix, etc). If you download it you can try it free for either 9 or 11 days (I can't remember which) so you can check it out with no commitment. I can send you a pdf book that I downloaded that runs through Amplitube 3 and all of it's amp and effect models. It explains a lot of how it works (it helped me a lot) and tells you what the real-world equivalent of some of the pedals inside Amplitube are. A lot of the effects pedals are renamed so they don't have to worry about patent infringement. Check out these videos as well, they might give you some better insight:
