  1. Did a first real attempt at the slap track. After switching everything down to the E (slap) and D (pop) strings, I managed to do OK. Might do an attempt in the next few days restricting myself to slapping as transcribed before I practice it too much just to quantify how terrible I am at it. Probably won't be able to get through the song without striking out or DD dropping, though. http://i.imgur.com/FEIRbQP.jpg

  19. Well, I did a try at "Your White Shirt" trying to play the notes where transcribed... I made it a whole 4 phrases into the song on score attack. After that I tried it on learn a song, and somehow managed not to get any of the phrases downgraded. http://i.imgur.com/jj7mRDj.jpg In other news, I think I'm starting to get the hang of the basics of making CDLC, so I might set up a workshop soon. At this point I've got a couple of things that seem to be in playable form, and a few others that I've started collecting various files for. I have very little idea what I'm doing with tones (especially guitar tones), though.

  20. hey all who play the white shirt bass, I found a little issue in the custom. I suspected that in v1 we played with the guitar tone since I recorded the video and saw there a Marshall amp and just checked with the TK, and yes, it was the guitar tone  In version 1.1 the bass sound improved by selecting the right tone, nice & dirty. and don't worry, no stats are gonna be resetted. with that sound tonight I'm goin on the hunt for leaders B)

  24. @@Brooklyn_Sounds In my opinion, it makes no sense that we're not allowed to make live versions of official dlcs. In case of Muse, live versions of their songs are arranged mostly in a bit different way than those from the studio. Especially songs from 'HAARP'. I mean, it's not like that I want to violate the policies of Ubisoft, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

  26. @@danielowa, that sucks. I'm not sure if we're still allowed, but last year we were able to do covers of official content. Which never made sense to me, it just a slightly different than the original, like a live version. Like I said i don't know if that is still the case, but it doesn't make sense to me because they're in the same category, at least to me.

  28. I haven't managed to get this procedure to work. I'm not sure I'm putting the sltsv1_aggregategraph.nt file in the correct directory. I have been putting it in the cache_Pc folder along with the cacheX.7z files. Is this the correct place to put it? -EDIT- Got it finally! Things generally go better when you read the instructions, but you should see what happens when you actually follow them as well.

These were the values I get for Johnny B Goode (Total of 495 notes for Bass) Hard: Perfect=100 Good=80 Early/Late=60 Master: Perfect=124 Good=100 Early/Late=74 But these are the values I got for Space Truckin(752 notes): Hard Perfect=32 Good=26 Early/Late=19 Master Perfect=41 Good=32 Early/Late=24 Will test tomorrow for how long it takes for streaks to form, but i find this interesting, and anyone wanting to create a formula/add their own data may do so.

  34. It would almost be easier for me to make a user preference for what percentage into the note's duration the default bend placement is made. This should be relatively easy for me to add, and I think it strikes a decent balance for user customization. Then it's just a matter of whether this value is defaulted to anything other than 33%. Allowing for 3 digits (##.#%) would allow for more accuracy, but I think the difference would usually be pretty negligible as far as what the user sees, and it makes the naming of the user preference much more complicated than just "%". Let me know what you guys think.

  38. Got it. Why not then make a user preference in EoF what fraction of a sustain tail a regular bend will be authored at. Like this one can play with the setting to zero in on an optimal value for a CDLC chart. Any different minority ratio for given chart would require TechNotes. Like this the position is at the user's discretion. Like any setting you need a default so it could become 2/3 if you agree with the proposed change.

  42. I think people are missing my point. ALL charts now have tech notes on bends, this will effect no one unless you choose to manuaily erase tech notes from import. So it will not effect new charters in the slightest. I choose to manually erase tech notes on short bends in fast soloing because it is a royal pain in the ass setting tech notes on sustain lengths as short as I am talking about, and so I let EoF set the bend definitions for me. I am talking about bends which last a fraction of a second and the 1/3rd rule makes shorter bends horrible to look at and difficult to register. I bet everyone has played a chart with a fast section coming at them and thought "I'm never gonna register those bloody bends". Hurting your fingers, making the guitar sound awful just to try and hit that score... The 1/3rd rule is a historical requirement that still exists which no one knows about or cares for. I am asking for it to be made extremely useful (well, to me :) ). If any charts happen to end up with a long bend with a 2/3rd bend marker in them, then the charter hasn't paid much attention and probably wouldn't know the difference anyway. Can anyone post a legitimate reason, backed up by argument, why the 1/3 rule should stay?

  43. Check out RSTabExplorer if you only want to produce music score with notes (does not require GP5 or GP6). You can also produce nice GP5 output with the toolkit or RocksmithToTab by cabalistic, and then produce score with notes in GP5 or GP6.

  49. I guess you know how this works, so instead of me explaining, here's the link to all my customs: Link Below you can find my ongoing projects, so take a peek if you're interested and if you find something you like let me know. You're always welcome to tab something out yourself of course. Progressive Music Project: As any of you might have guessed from the list of customs I've release and the ones released by others that I showed interested in the most, I'm a big fan of progressive music of any kind and the fact that the progressive tag can be applied to almost every genre is what makes it so enticing. The monotony of straightforward radio friendly pop, rock and metal is often to much for me and that's when I turn to the "dark" side of music, where I can unwind in ever evolving musical stories of intricate complexion, not only told by thoughtful lyrics but made alive by the voices of the instruments. I especially like progressive rock from the 70's, but not only the classics, also the more obscure stuff that didn't reach the masses, even though it was sometimes as good, if not better, as a lot of the most popular acts, but that's personal opinion. The same goes for the definition of what's progressive as well, because not all bands can easily be classified as such, but I'll stick with whatever's defined as progressive on http://www.progarchives.com/. So here's a list of all my progressive music customs already released so far: Aardvark - Very Nice Of You To Call Adam Sandler - The Goat Song Alan Parsons Project - The Cask Of Amontillado Argent - Lothlorien Camel - Slow Yourself Down Chris Squire - Hold Out Your Hand/You By My Side Dr. Z - Evil Woman's Manly Child Ekseption - Smile Ekseption - Beggar Julia's Time Trip [RS Cut] Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Jerusalem Emerson, Lake & Palmer - The Sheriff Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Jeremy Bender Focus - Sylvia Frank Zappa - You're Probably Wondering Why I'm Here Frank Zappa - Camarillo Brillo Frank Zappa - Uncle Remus Gentle Giant - Think Of Me With Kindness Glass Hammer - The Old Troll And The Maiden Jeff Wayne - The Eve Of The War/Horsell Common And The Heat Ray Jethro Tull - Cross Eyed Mary Jethro Tull - Teacher Jethro Tull - To Cry You A Song Magma - Dondaï Pink Floyd - Fat Old Sun Rare Bird - Sympathy Van Der Graaf Generator - Darkness (11/11) Van Der Graaf Generator - Refugees Yes - Perpetual Change Musical Project: However much I love me some great and complex progressive music I also have a fondness for simpler forms of entertainment, like say, the stuff musical theater is made of. There's of course different kinds of musicals: there's the simple song structured ones like "The Book Of Mormon" or "Wicked" and there's also the more progressive ones which work like classic music theatre, i.e. "Les Misérables" or most of Steven Sondheim's musicals. I am a big fan of both formats and I want to bring a nice variety of bits and pieces of all of the famous musicals to RS, but I would also appreciate every effort from other charters in this direction. So, if you have any interest in this kind of musical entertainment, then join me in my venture and help bring some more color to RS by putting out a great selection of famous musical songs. I have a nice collection of sheet music for most of them, so I could set you up with those if you need them. Just let me know what you are planning to do and if you release it, I'll put the link into the OP of this project, so we can collect all the customs in one place. Now for a list of musicals that I plan to work on eventually: Les Misérables Sweeney Todd Sunday In The Park With George West Side Story Rent The Producers Hairspray Into The Woods Little Shop Of Horrors Wicked Chicago Spamalot Billy Elliot Book Of Mormon Scrubs Musical Bombshell (Smash Musical) Lion King Fiddler On The Roof Here's what has been done until now: Beauty And The Beast - Belle Cats - Gus The Theater Cat/Growltiger's Last Stand Into The Woods - Ever After Jeff Wayne - Eve Of The War/Horsell Common And The Heat Ray Monty Python's Spamalot - Act I Medley Seven Brides For Seven Brothers - Bless Your Beautiful Hide Seven Brides For Seven Brothers - Sobbin' Women Rocky Horror Picture Show - Over At The Frankenstein Place If you have any particular song choices for any of the above mentioned musicals let me know and I'll let that influence my decision of what to do next.
