No theme this week just suggested songs and kinda recent made cdlc.

The begginer song might seem intimidating at first but its doable, I would play the other paths of the song ( alt lead 1 and 2) to get a hang of it.

To me lots of the songs had similar dificulty on bass so i went and got other bass songs.

South arcade songs structure is very simple and was tempted to put it in intermediate but the main hook is kinda fast and i couldnt get a good score, meanwhile my chemical romance song i did so thats why they are sorted that way.

masterclass song is tough.

Anyways, leave your ratings when you upload your scores to average them out, (numbers is prefered since i cant average higher than x or lower than x)

The octaves here got me by surprise, idk if I'm doing it the right way on the bass?? (4.5)

Yea it's a banger, reasonable rating (3)

Nice easy sight read with a little spice and yeah chart similar to MCR (3)

The bass is so elusive for me, it always says volume is too low so I keep moving the pickups around hoping for better accuracy but sometimes idk

And y'all is Jeris Johnson cringe? I like a couple of his songs like the "Kiss from a Rose" cover and" John" (and "damn!" but guilty pleasure frfr)

Even became a meme with that one dashcam video but he is fully committed to the bit so I kind of respect it

Are you kidding me! HOW! What a cool groove carrying me through that song - i absolutely don´t know the original - and i don´t think i have to ..... but i think come close to your quality work there will be more than a challenge.... however see us suffer and fail!!! BRAVO

What a great job, push those vocals up a couple db - they are fine, just getting drowned in the mix.

Started tentative but by 1:40 on really rocks, I really like the subtlety of the lyrics.
It sounds like Goyte doing metal really really good.

Now I keep singing Now i'm just somebody that you used to know

Tbh, dont really recognize the name and probably wouldnt even have searched him up cause his part in the song really didnt do anything for me/ wouldve been fine without it / i like point norths vocalist more, untill you commented about him.

Surprised he has almost twice the monthly listeners of point north (that band i did know from since when ghost in my home was released)
A quick glance at his songs looks like he just does cover or sings on top of famous beats? cause i do remember hearing the banjo beat instrumental all over tiktok and yt shorts but ive never heard of damn...i do remember seeing the paparoach remix song and being like why? Doesnt seem for me but respect for him finding success and i guess it goes to show that there can be success by doing covers.

Never really watched modernfamily but it does appear in my feed quite a bit and some sceenes like this one do give me a chuckle.

Great cover btw! Like it more than the rock n roll cover so grats! Agree with the previous comments. And always good to hear 3dg

Crazy that it's been 15 weeks since that week! Seems like forever yet not long enough, cause i was gonna put a linkin park song this week and was like oof nah i just made a week with them

@ cacahuate51 What do you mean it’s been 15 weeks?? I am still waiting for you to drop The Hand That Feeds cover any day now & it feels like Linkin Park dropping a new song every week but I love hopping on ignition and it’s already there

I heard Jeris is a classic 2020s nepo baby solo artist so it tracks that he’s got more listens especially if he’s milking tiktok… I had blocked that Papa Roach remix from memory tbh so bad

@ Daz40 You got me, I think I don’t really have that beginning riff down tight so it sounded like a hot mess, especially with multiple guitar tracks maybe the intensity of the second half is more forgiving

@ Rodman Every time I listen to your covers I crack open the DAW to work on a project, like y’all say at the end “thank you!!” gotta try these new IK multimedia plugins next time

Amazing work!!

I agree that the voice could be a couple of dB higher, but other than that, awesome!! You even had backing vocals.

What did you use for the drums? The ones that I've been using came with the Akai mini keyboard but sound very artificial.

Thanks! I used Monster drum plugin and libraries from here: https://agushardiman.tv/monster-drum-the-best-free-drum-vst-plugin-with-multi-kit-genre/

Setup might take some patience, have to figure out how to use Reaper’s multi-out feature and before that there will be no sound output, might be a little frustrating But you can change volume of individual elements in the mixer, big difference

Also improve whatever plugin you use by routing some drum reverb. I followed this tutorial:

First results of the week:

I agree with the ratings. The Vengaboys song is a bit difficult on the wrists because of the duration of the octaves, but it depends on each persons endurance (it felt like 10 minutes). But it was a massive hit on the discos a couple of decades ago

Didn't know Ambrosia, but liked the song and the bass line (sometimes I don't really like a song very much, but the bass line is fun to play)

The Replacements - Can't Hardly Wait. Lead is hard for beginners. Rhythm ok.

Point North - Dark Days (ft. Jeris Johnson). Rhythm is easy. Lead is hard with skippings and slides.

My Chemical Romance - This Is How I Disappear. Hard. Wanted to brake my guitar. my fingers and my hands.

South Arcade - stone cold summer

Direwolf - Final Flight. It was fun monkey play at least.

Seems like this week I will suffer.

MCR is a favorite of my daughter and she got me into the them. Christmas gift for the both of us was tickets to see them in Dodger Stadium come July with The Wallows (another favorite) gonna be a blast.

I can only agree with the others, this was really good! The combination of a soft voice with heavy guitar sounds is a really cool combination, giving the cover something fresh compared to the original. Don't be afraid to turn up your vocals

I didn't know this, but it sounds cool and nice to play! Not very easy so 3.5.

Also cool, a chart without a classic solo, but it requires some technique, hard to rate, I would give it 4.5.

Double stops madness! Too much for me, I don't even know how to rate it, I think 6.5 or 7.

Game over. 9.5.

My favorite to play from this week, just super fun

Had a pretty rough first run (barely got through without a strike) but if I played as sooooft as i could it was so much easier to get through without tiring out.

Yep time flies! You've managed to go from begginer to advance in rhythm class and intermediate in lead so congrats and keep working hard! Also 94% to a full cover of the song thats pretty impressive.

As for my nin project here it is:

got burried and abandoned long time ago I rememeber trying to do vocals and i was like yeeep nope . So i tried using his vocals but even then it still sounded wacky. I do have more fun imo creating new songs or remixes instead...covers didnt seem to do it for me creatively.

Yeah I really enjoy ignition when people upload new songs cause it keeps me up to date with bands that I like but dont really follow. Forexample I didnt know adtr released a new album so i still have to listen to it. Hopefuly its better than better friends cause that album was a bit low for me, but i do think the more you listen to songs you tend to like them more so probably just needed to listen to it more.

Imo nepobaby is a weird term. I would imagine it would definately help if you've got family or friends in the bussinnes but at the end of the day that can only take you so far since you can't really "force" someone to like your music lol. Also, if i were in the position to give an opportunity to someone who really desired that position in a field i was in, aka friends or family, I think there would be no hesitation in trying to help them accomplish their dreams if you could, but maybe that's just me?

Nepotisim /nepo baby is only bad if they are half assing it/ they are being forced by family or friends as its not really their personal dream. But since music is subjective and not something really measurable, it is an odd term to throw around in my opinion for anything in the "Arts category". Unfortunately there will always be someone more talented unrecognized out there due to x reason but I think platforms like tiktok has sort of helped there. Who knows how the algorithms works or if the views are legit or whatever but you still gotta respect the hustle if they are putting out lots of content.

And yeah it was wiped out of my memory aswell i was surprised they even had a music video together.

Speaking of nepobabys tho lol south arcade has a song called that and it was one i was considering instead of the one i chose, but i like the guitar riff more on stone cold summer
