Woah 3rd time my suggestion gets picked in a row! I'm liking this rng maybe I should go to a casino see if the luck applies in real life aswell ha.
Love Movements and this album. For anyone that hasnt heard them yet other good songs are daylily (probably my fav)  fever dream, colorblind, the grey  full circle ( kinda just named all the songs on that album lol but i like it)and panic, It 's a sad/emoish band so it might not be for everyone but i really like the voice lyrics and instruments.

Its been a loooong time since ive played it so it was nice for it to appear in the competition and glad i can still play it! . I personally suggested the song mostly for the lead path..not too much fond of the other paths..but the lead is good fingerpicking practice mixed with standardard picking (atleast thats how i play it). It might take some time to get used to it but if you do i think its easy to 100 o close to it consistantly (i personaly think its an intermediate song if you get the fingerpicking and also cause theres no solo and its kinda short) . 





 Good begginer song has nice instruments and she has a pleasant voice not a fan of the lyrics though.
This has tones or parts that remind me of other songs and they are all at the tip of my tongue but i cant remember any sadly. Mostly what sounds familiar is from the vocal melody in the chorus its also in another pop/hit song... oh well.
the a d e chord progression is always good to find/ hear and is also used a ton in pop songs. My favorite one or atleast the one that comes to mind at the top of my head is going to be two steps behind by defleppard. 




yea decent song. I think this one would be harder to 100 than the movements song for lead since this one actually has solos (albeit simple ones) the length, and more sections to memorize. 

man i was doing well and then the sus chord shape/ message in the bottle from the police chord shape appeared and i was like gg xD fun song to play!

I listed Movements higher than Bad Company because it's not really a common style and most players will probably have to spend some time practicing it. It might be easier if you know the song, but it's definitely harder to sight-read imo. We can switch out the order if more people share your opinion no problem.

First post here in a long time but I'm back.. at least for the short-term.  Will see what life brings my way.  Here is my first submission for bass.  Bad Company is going to be out of my wheelhouse but I'll give it a go.  Strumming and embellishments aren't my strong suit.

@ nlbsmglsk  I played this after a long break and I think you can change the rating to 3. I don't know if that's even too much, but I'll stick with it if no one complains.

Ok, this song (chart) is completely out of my comfort zone and I'm having a lot of problems with it. It's supposed to be fingerpicking, but I can't do that, so I play with a pick, hitting all strings...
I can't rate difficulty of this for the above reasons, but this suits me best to the rythm mastercass.
@ cacahuate51 - wtf? You did 100% here? How!? Better write now whether you want to be promoted to masterclass or not, because you will be automatically leveled up when creating next week.

It's kinda disheartening when you suck at a song and it's over 6 1/2 minutes long.. Not much incentive to get better.  LOL

@ Mikson  Nooo! Don't level me to masterclass  i'm still a noob.
Tbf i never had done any fingerpicking till this song cause i wasnt able to do it normally. i guess its been 6months since i played this song cause the last time i played it was doing the video / when i suggested it. But thats when i used to play it a ton of times infact i think one of lilramens older cldlc versions (not the one in the video) was better because it had the fingering on the chords this new version doesnt for some reason...and i think the tones were louder aswell so it was easier tot ell if you were playing it right or wrong.

so i do admit it probably looks harder than it is without knowing what fingers to use on the fretboard

as long as you only use the 1st and 2nd finger (index and middle) on the red(2) orange(1) strings you should be fine.
the 9 hammeron orange and slide i use the ring finger (3)...
then for the 5r 4y 7g chord i use the pinky (4) on the green string...
chorus is just typical punk song..i think paramore has one thats similar 
and then it just repeats...
except for the bridge..
which uses the same 547 chord above and a new one thats  4r(1)  5g(2) 7b(4) (i suggest just practicing switching between those two chords cause its kinda awkward atleast for me it was)
and then it repeats and thats it. 3 to 4 section song  

Your comment made me want to give the song another shot just strumming it/no fingerpicking. I find it a tad bit harder just cause you have to be very precise with what strings you pick and strumming the chords has to be very clean which i cant do consistantly yet but it does seem to be doable. However if you finger pick (never too late to learn a new skill and always handy) i find it to be cleaner and easier but maybe they do just strum it live dont know tbh.

thumb for red strings, index for orange, and middle for green is what i do but whatever finger combination suits you best like you could just use thumb and index. (just keep in mind its best to keep the pick in your hand for the chorus hold it with the fingers your not using..although i guess technicly you could do the whole song fingerpicking havent tried though)  



 

  still don't think this should be on the same level as mariachi or whitesnake but i do understand it can be a bit challenging

From what I can see, @ jellisjenius  will start next week selection so you have to count on him not automatically accepting your promotion. 

In general, I'm not a fan of this auto-leveling system, created by @ kayteck  I presume. We should first ask if the participant wants to promotion, and not do it automatically, and then possibly go back.

That's exactly how I played it, it wasn't easy at all.

finally got a half decent score!!! I get what @ cacahuate51  is saying about this song being familiar, to me it sounds like Adele. As an older rock chic  its definitely not my cup of tea but i'll give it a few more goes later in the week.

Nono - it´s really good that the level-ups are caught automatically. It´s a basic rule that achieving that levels one up - and that shall not be missed - and the player shall ask to stay down if he wants - not a big deal to bring him/her back at all.

I could have guessed it was your idea, the biggest fan of level-up. 

Overall it's ok as you said, but we need to pay attention to beginners in the championship, so as not to discourage them by forced promotion, and they may not know that they can refuse.

I just wanna throw out that while I appreciate Shooting Star being selected, I rated it a 5 difficulty in my testing and I don't think it should be used for Adv level. I'm okay with the downgrade of Adv bass to 6-7 but only if the 6s are legitimate.

The problem is it's not a common play style, not that it's too hard (imo). My tip: Either use one of your free right hand fingers to hit the higher strings, or loose the pick altogether. On the other hand the tempo is not too fast and there's a limited amount of licks to learn, so look at it as an opportunity to learn a new technique. Once you practice it for a bit it shouldn't be that hard.
I'm definitely not moving it up to an 8.

I'm not really a bass player, so my bass ratings might be a little off sometimes. If you had voiced your concerns yesterday I'd probably change things up, but then again that would require the use of the dreaded bonus arrangements. I feel like changing the roster now wouldn't be fair to players who already started to learn the song.
I changed the rating to 5.5.

IMO auto level up with opt-out is the better solution.
For the people who might not know about the opt-out, maybe a more prominent link to the rules in the new week template might help?

I also think autolevel with optional OPT-OUT is good solution. I would not programme it if I am not convinced to it .

Anyway, it was Our Great Organiser @ Rodman 's  idea .

I felt some may not know about resigning of being promoted, so since this (or last) week there is a note "if you don't agree, send massage to go back...", so i think there is enough information preventing from unwanted promotion . @ Mikson , do you think we should highlight it more? Or re-word it? And add link to rules section?

I will try that. Not a great in finger style  Always play with a pick. Hope that will work better than my 1st day's tries LOL...

No, if such information will be there, I think it should be enough.
