Haven't been playing much guitar this week. I've been focussed on playing Warlock mid in Dota 2 over and over again. Went from 3500 to almost 4000 MMR in just four days! In layman's terms: In the video game I play, I've managed to climb from the top 10% of players to the top 5% using an obscure strategy that nobody expects! If it keeps working at the rate it has been, I'll be in the top 1% of players in a few more days... But I played a bit tonight! Thought that I would start doing rhythm MC as well from now on since I'm already in 1st place for Lead MC. On the subject of hiding posts and the like. Imagine you think of something really cool to do. You announce it and expect people are going to like it just as much as you do. Only in response you'll get 10ish comments on the legality of it and other complaints. At one point you'll just be like: "whatever I'm done with this." and close/delete/hide the topic/posts. Sometimes dealing with a big community can be quite frustrating and it'll feel like every announcement you make to better the site and things is only being met with complaints. All of us who run the site are volunteers, we do this because we want to give the community a fun place to hang out, talk, heck maybe even wear a shirt with the sites logo on it. We all have our own lives with sometimes shitty days and then we still have to deal with you guys /jk ;) If we sometimes come off as rude or forget to do something, pm's for example, just remember that we also have our own lives and sometimes you just catch one of us in a bad moment, sometimes we make errors we are also humans :) We've been running this site for almost 3 years now and I'm quite proud of what we've build up here. Not only the staff, but also all the other people here in the community. I hope that this explains why we sometimes do what we do.

Btw the tab is wrong for bass but im glad that it isnt the rigth tab because i can just imagine the bad note recogniton with all those chords.

You have my full support, Berneer. Whenever posts are considered to be deleted, there should at least be a procedure to give the author a chance to moderate his comment, or to remove it himself. There should also be a time to get rid of a warning point, after a year or so. I could not read these comments, so I consider myself censored, and I don't like that at all in a community based on cooperation and solidarity. I admit, it keeps me from donating, I'm very sensitive on the subject of free speech in an environment of mutual respect. We all know its a main issue to keep a site polite, and Unleashed2K has done a great job.

Welp, im giving up on this one, song is too long to afford to make a mistake before the solo and when it happens its really boring having to sit through all this chording to get to the part i f'ed up and my strumming hand feels like its going to fall off! Id rather let this song go than have my hand hurt for like 2 weeks. Then again, i didnt come on the championship to be THAT competitive, ill gladly take 2nd place thank you very much :)

Da Rules (Credit to the Ubi Forums for some Ideas!):Items in bold are updates to the rules. 1. Anyone may join the contest as long as he's a forum member. 2. You can play "Score Attack" On Hard or "Learn a Song" with all sections mastered (all purple): You may also play a song which does not have DD on Score Attack easy if you cannot get through it on hard as all the notes will still show up on easy but it won't X you out as easily. 3. There are four classes: Beginner(BEG), Intermediate(INT), Advanced(ADV) and Masterclass(MC). If you enter to the contest the first time, you can choose your class for every path separate or become FreeBird Member. Classes difficulties standards are BEG: 1-3 INT: 4,5 ADV: 6,7 MC: 8,9 (guitar) Bass: Beg 1-4, Int 5-6, Adv 7-8, Mc 8-9, Gog 10 (updated May 2021) 3.1 FreeBird member is a participant who does not belong to any class, thus can't win at the end of the week, but can be rewarded with FBA (FreeBird Award) after playing 2 weeks in a row (one pass allowed). 3.2 UP/DOWNLEVELING (Update by Rodman) Everyone can choose his class he wants to participate when he starts to play. Lead/Rhy and Bass are independent so a player can choose different classes in the different paths. You level up ----- if you achieve 99%+ (bass 99.5%+) on a classes top difficulty song (3 for beg / 5 for int / 7 for adv) - unless you vote against! (your classmates and the orgas will have to let you stay (to avoid players of higher classes to rule a lower league) ----- whenever you feel ready - just make a post (and pm any orga so you make sure its not overlooked) and you level up. You level down ----- whenever you feel you are in a class too high (your new classmates and the orgas will have to let you stay (to avoid players of higher classes to rule a lower league) GoG is an extra competition for everyone - MC stays masterclass and does never level up. You are then leveled automatically as follows: Guitar (lead or rhythm) - If you score same or more than 99% on song of upper difficulty, Bass - If you score same or more than 99.5% on song of upper difficulty. If you score <=79% on a level two weeks in a row you are leveled down one class. If you do not participate for 3 weeks in a row your name is removed from the lists but you may return and choose what class you want to be in when you return (you can drop by maximum one class). "Pour Some Sugar On Me rule" is rule made after ratings were done, it based on situation where easy songs are in higher class, Pour Some Sugar On Me bass is perfect example of beginner bass song, still it leveled up some bass players to MasterClass. With that rule particpant is not going to be leveled up on songs easier then his class, unless he wants to level up. 3.3 Organizers may decide not to level up a participant if it seems fair for competition. 4. Both instruments are leveled separately. 5. You may only enter in one class per arrangement. (Bass, Rhythm, Lead) but you may participate in all available arrangements. Your highest level difficulty entry will be chosen as your entrant if you participate in all arrangements. For example if you play all 3 classes on BASS your MC BASS Score will be your entry for that week. Same goes for Lead and Rhythm classes. This will make it fair for the people who can't play the higher level songs and hopefully stop discouraging them from posting their scores because the other advanced players are posting theirs. 6. One Song is chosen for all Instruments and classes 6.1. For each instrument songs are sorted by theirs difficulty (from easiest to thoughest). 7. Every Saturday new songs are chosen. From all participants of a class, one is chosen at random by Motive, Mortalo. 8. Every member should add his/her name and song he/she would like chosen to the Song Selection List which has been made editable by all for this purpose 9. Only 1 song per class will be selected and only custom DLC's with at least 1 arrangement for guitar and 1 arrangement for bass are allowed (ideally they should have Lead/Rhythm/Bass arrangements and have a custom tone with Riff Repeater but Rhythm arrangements and custom tones are optional). Also Originally included Rocksmith 2014 songs may be selected as well. NO OFFICIALLY RELEASED DLC is supported at this time and ALL customs must be available on Customsforge.com to qualify. 9a. All songs must have riff repeater in order to qualify for the championship. Songs without riff repeater may be replaced if they are chosen accidentally unless everyone states they want to keep it. 10. You only need to change the song in the list if your song is selected. If not, you can keep the same choice, or choose another, it's up to each one of you. 11. On Saturday, if your name is chosen and you didn't enter any song in the Song Selection List, another member will be chosen. 12. Starting with the publication of the songs, you may enter your score. 13. The scores are entered in the corresponding google doc: Leaderboard Motive, frippchen, Rodman and Mortalo take care of entering the scores if there is any discrepancy please let one of these people know. 14. You must post a screenshot with your score showing the Accuracy % and streak and all songs must be played @ 100% (ALL PURPLE BARS) or the score will not count. You may use whatever image hosting site you would like to post your screenshots. 15. Ranking is done by percentage first, then by Longest Streak and in the case of a tie the tiebreaker will be the actual score in Score Attack (so if you played LAS and got 100% but then someone plays Score Attack and gets 100% the winner will be the one who played Score Attack). 16. If you play LAS (Learn a Song), you percentage will be always, xx.00%(example %99.00), if you prefer SA (Score Attack), your percentage will always be xx.xx%(example 99.02%). 17. Every song is up for discussion until Sunday around 08:00PM EST(Eastern Standard Time). If you think a song is too hard for Intermediate or Beginner or if a Custom is not made well (Horrible Tone or not synced or just a bad tab), please let us know in the thread, so we may discuss it. 18. After Sunday 08:00pm EST the songs are set and will only be changed if the organizers have not been able to respond earlier and there is a problem with the custom. 19. The contest closes the next Saturday around 07:00pm CEST. Rules update (02/22): Entered scores are valid until 7pm CET of the running week or until new week start, whatever happens later. 20. The winners are announced in the OP of the corresponding week's thread. 21. Rules may change without notice. So watch out. Let me be clear, as a proud and constructive member of CustomsForge I can say the following without impaired judgement, that if I see any more non-malicious and well-intentioned posts deleted by you or your board of directors, I will refrain from donating to this site in perpetuity. People give this site the most precious thing that they've got: their limited free time and thoughtfulness. These things need to be respected. Didn't this site begin on the principle of non-deletion? Paying the server costs is in my opinion different from merchandising. I personally don't think that CF is a brand - it's a fan site for customs and there's probably a problem. The customs are shared without any commerical interest for educational purpose under the fair use rule. To avoid copyright or trademark conflicts - Be Non-Commercial: This is an element of the unspoken rule, but try to be completely non-commercial with your works, no selling copies, no sponsorships, no advertisements. If you add a shop to a site you can't separate it from everything else of the website and say "I'm selling only the website name and everything else is not related to it". This has been corrected and there's maybe no problem to add the revenue to monthly costs. Steam games are sometimes on sale - 120 games are not necessarily 50$+ games and no indicator if you're rich or not. Hiding a post is for the members without any priviledged rights the same as deleting them - they can't read it and the difference is only technically. I agree that posts in the category of the Edit sentence are deleted without asking.

Windows did a massive update for me today and it really interfered with my rhythm intermediate. No excuses though so a big well done to Talbot even if he's a Tottenham fan!

Thanks for restoring the content of that topic. I see nothing wrong when someone running the shop gets paid, service is done and its not much different to paying the service of running the servers, or software tools. However, and I don't want to debate, it's hard to believe in the social help argument, when someone owns 120 steam games. And 3 month ago I PM Unleashed2k about the vanished topic of "4 non Blondes : what's up" but haven't got an answer, yet.

What kind of metal? It's probably the broadest genre insofar as types of guitars. Although what I usually recommend to people is to buy something very simple and well made (so it's as easy to play as possible) then when you are good enough to need any additional bells and whistles, you'll know what you want. (Can do this well under $200 for the guitar, maybe $50 for the amp, used.) But if you insist on getting something high end to start with, I'd say go with a guitar made by the same manufacturer as whoever you want to sound like the most. If it's A7X, that's Schecter. If you like Slayer and more thrash metal, then ESP/LTD. But generally speaking, a lot of the sound of various groups, does come from their instruments, particularly certain brands. So, tl:dr version. Buy the brand of the group(s) you really like. Start with the 'bottom end' and after a year or three, you'll know well enough what you want.

I like the idea of allowing user to define situation where a spawn of more than 4 fret is integrated in EOF. Not too sure about how well it will work but it's clearly worth the try anyway. If fingering for single note is taken into account it could allow user to easily adapt some part to get the desired result easily without too much work. User will just have to indicate a fingering on single note where he wants a change to happen no matter what but i doubt it would change the quality of FHP for people that don't already do any effort on that point. Might not be perfect but it should be robust enough to get most situation right. Fingering other than 1 with the width larger than 4 can indeed become messy to consider properly but i don't think than doing the basic idea of FHP = Fret + (1 - Finger) would give much of a problem, as i said above, it will only matter for user that already care enough about FHP to make active correction for it. Unfortunately my next university semester starts tomorrow so i won't have much time to practice. I have to agree with @@covinhas87 on the fact that this definetly doesn't feel like a beginner's song. I like the challenge don't get me wrong but i feel like it would take me a lot more then a week to even hit only 3 notes on the solo xD P.S.
