Everything I've played in the last week seems to have gotten worse rather than better except Chains and Things on bass = 97.43%. I doubt that this will change any standings, but I wasn't satisfied with my previous score.6 points

No luck at all on Big Gun this week. One of my least fav AC/DC songs and I just could not get this pattern or listen to it again, played too much and kept downranking. Overall I thought it was hardest song this week. Alanis was just random in a few parts. I'm going to need to work on my pulloff technique too... http://i.imgur.com/Sd6TUJC.jpg I don't know how I didn't get a strike on that end section. As I said above, I'm definitely going to need to practice my tapping and hammer-on and pulloff technique (that section at the end). In addition, I'm probably going to need to go over some of the more complicated tapping sections so I actually have some semblance of an idea of where my hands should be, rather than just flailing at the fretboard and hoping. Edit: Just did a runthrough on RR to see how many notes there are in each section. The first tapping section had 72, the second and third each had about 100, and the outro had about 170. I think the total note count in the song ended up a little below 1300 (maybe 1286?). So those sections (which don't include all of the technical and hard parts) comprise over a third of the notes in the song. In other news, I'm helping out on making a bass version for Mastodon's song The Motherload. I've made the bass part in a Guitar Pro tab (the 19th measure should match the 27th, but I think otherwise this is the most recent version) mostly based on this live performance, especially from ~1:10 through 2:40. The studio version is here, in case anything's done differently between the two versions. If you could check it out and see whether it seems accurate, that would be a big help! I haven't done much of anything with the part during interlude and solo, and it would probably also be especially helpful to double-check what is a slide but shouldn't be (or isn't a slide but should be). Thanks!2 points

Hello Everyone, I don't usually post on these forums. Recently I revisited the idea of porting or cloning Rocksmith 2014 on Linux as Ubisoft have declared they won't be porting the game. I started at the GuitarSmith forums http://sourceforge.net/projects/guitarsmithand quickly found a C++ build of Frets on Fire. I have taken this version of the code and quickly implemented changes that allow it to render the notes in a way that's closer to Rocksmith. It's by no means finished yet, I'm still implementing the neck of the guitar and the full fret range. I am willing to share all of my code with anyone who wants it and am happy to put effort into it if there are other interested programmers. The code is currently known to run on Windows/Linux and should run on Mac but it hasn't been tested there. Based on Frets on Fire this engine should be simple to modify to at least use the Rocksmith projects made in Editor on Fire, and of course can currently use the Frets on Fire content. I am hoping to shatter the limitations of Rocksmith and add in (at least) 4 - 8 string guitar support if someone would like to add more guitars/instruments they would be welcome. I would love to add support for the Rocksmith CDLC. Now the cool/hard part: On the GuitarSmith forums someone has posted up the code for a JAVA based audio recognition engine which can process guitar notes and confirm if the correct note was played or not. I'd like help porting this from JAVA to C++ and creating the note samples. Included is a screenshot of my current progress to hopefully inspire people.1 point

I realize this isn't the place for requests, but this isn't a request in for a cdlc so I son't know where else to put it. If this is against the rules I apologize. (Afaik it isn't) I wanted to promote/raise awareness about the "request song" feature that Ubisoft has. I'm asking because Ubisoft claims that they try to mix up the oifficial dlc's. If that's the case, I want help from those of you that didn't know about the request feature to use it and if you like either of these songs. Please add it to the list. :) I think a lot of great guitar players get overlooked and this is one of them. -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7dBkzBxedw -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1om912O13A -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQlmhEwU6Ks -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUBh5ssbcXg THANKS !!!1 point

The bass part's a little weird in places if you look carefully (from what I remember, in the tapping intro the 14th fret note at the end of the four note pattern shows as a pluck when it should be a hammer on, identical consecutive notes showing as hammers/pulloffs in the outro, pitched slides down to open strings), but I'm fine with it as is. At the very least, there are probably very few songs that have such strong incentives for me to (finally) learn how to properly do pulloffs at speed and learn the fretboard.1 point

We've had this talk before. GP tabs are the issue. Tabbing from scratch is a PITA, and that's why you don't see much country. If you had an official tab book you can always make the GP tabs yourself,, but be warned,, it is time consuming. Then you put it in EoF and find out that you have too many or not enough repeats,, go edit the GP tab,, do it again,, and again, until you get it right. Of course,, if we could get some officials,, that would be cool.1 point

@Gibson "we open up a song and the Rocksmith stops working or shuts down altogether" This is different problem than MM and I were discussing. MM issue is now fixed. In addition to what Alex360 has asked you to provide us, you can check the following yourself: Does RS shut down for all CDLC or just some? If just some then you need to get CGT program and check for corrupt CDLC (follow my signature link to download CGT). The new CDLC Manager or Statalog tools will tell you if you have corrupt CDLC and will quarantine them. After corrupt CDLC are quarantined you should run Game Save Gigbox tool and "Sync" which will cleanup your game save profile (which can also cause game crashes and hangs if corrupted). Give CGT a try and let me know results.1 point
