  1. BOOM! King of Black Sheep :D Begginer Lead - 100%, 645 streak, 1,829,098 score: http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/577904070838145844/2705C6206827E78908BFB7205709B38A5266008B/ Yatta! My first 100% on that song, I wish I recorded this, but well screen and memories are enough for now :) My previous best was 98.6%, so when I realized that I can go for perfect score I got really nervous, but at the same time 100% concentrated. I never got flawless run on outer solo, but I never was in postion like that. Utterly satisfied. Anyway, here's my intermediate guitar scores (proof: http://i.imgur.com/Iq5nizY.jpg): Lead - 94% accuracy, 109 streak Rhythm - 93% accuracy, 86 streak Anddd the video of both tracks edited together.. Despite how relatively easy the track is, I struggled so much and hope the recording turned out okay. Okay.

  12. [update: The latest release is v0.9.9, visit the website: http://www.rocksmithtotab.de This program can convert any official or custom DLC into Guitar pro tab files (either .gp5 or .gpx). All of Rocksmith's features are supported and mirrored in the tabs. There may still be a few bugs left, and the rhythm notation is occasionally weird or just plain wrong, but overall the output is very decent and usable. The program can now be used on a Mac.] Hi all, over the past week I've begun to write a small program that can convert Rocksmith 2014 arrangements to Guitar Pro .gpx files. While Rocksmith's way of showing songs has its advantages, I've always had difficulty to figure out certain things from it, particularly strumming rhythms and quick passages. So for a while now I had been searching for a way to extract tabs from Rocksmith's tracks, and from a quick look through the forum, I might not be the only one. Recently I stumbled upon the RSTabExplorer, which attempted to do just that. Unfortunately, it wasn't in a state where its output was really useful to me, but at least it was a starting point. I had a look at the code and decided that I might have a shot at creating my own attempt. I have chosen to export the tabs to Guitar Pro, and specifically Guitar Pro 6. The reason is that I own Guitar Pro, and the gpx format was the quickest one for me to figure out (because at its core, it's just a very readable xml file, as opposed to the fully binary format of gp5). I also considered MusicXML, but it was a little more awkward to write, and more importantly, Guitar Pro's import is not advanced enough to capture all the relevant features. Now, the program isn't fully finished, yet, but it is in a state where I think it is already useful, and also could benefit from getting some feedback from other users. The program is a basic command-line utility (no GUI, sorry), where you specify the .psarc file and an output directory, and it will process all arrangements found in the archive. It already exports most of Rocksmith's features and does a decent job at rhythm detection, so many arrangements (at least in part) look quite good in Guitar Pro. There is one additional reason I'm releasing this now. Of the two major missing features (sustains and bends), I need help with the bends, specifically in understanding how Rocksmith interprets bends. I read the tutorial post about authoring bends in Eof, and that is all quite straightforward. However, in practice I found several tracks where a note has just a single bend value, yet sometimes Rocksmith interprets it as a simple bend, and sometimes as a bend/release. I can't figure out how Rocksmith differentiates between the two. For example, in Black Magic there is a bend/release on the 6th fret of the 5th string, but looking at the arrangement xml, I only see a single bend value for this note. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks :) Other than that, well, just try it out and let me know what you think. Just a little heads-up: Slides are only semi-working at the moment. Unpitching slides are fine, but slides to a target note only work in some instances. I know why, I just haven't had the time to correct it, yet. Also, the rhythm. Obviously, since Rocksmith has no direct notion of rhythm, it is quite a challenge to get an accurate rhythm representation out of Rocksmith's tracks. Basically not a single note maps 100% to its original rhythmic duration. I have experimented a bit with this, and my current approach is still quite basic, *but* it works surprisingly well in most instances. However, you have to expect the occasional oddity or error in the output, particularly in fast and "sloppy" solos. I have some ideas about cleverer approaches that I will try in the future, once all other features are implemented. One final warning: By default, the program puts all arrangements of a song (e.g. lead, rhythm, bass) into a single .gpx file. This is generally fine, but one caveat in Guitar Pro is that all tracks share the master bars, which dictate tempo and time. This is almost never a problem, but I did find in "Red Fang - Number Thirteen" that at some points, the lead and rhythm arrangements use different time in some measures. So when you combine them into a single file, this distinction is lost, and the result is simply wrong. There's not much I can do about that. I have implemented a switch to the program (-t) that will split the arrangements into separate files, if you need it. Now, finally, here is the link to the project: https://github.com/fholger/RocksmithToTab And the first release is here: https://github.com/fholger/RocksmithToTab/releases The program requires .NET 4.5. I hope I packaged everything correctly, please let me know if something isn't working. There are basic instructions on the GitHub page. I hope you get some use out of it, and please do point out any errors you spotted (besides those already mentioned above) in conversions. Many thanks to all you guys here who created the Custom Toolkit, and also to the RSTabExplorer team, because without you this project wouldn't exist.

  14. G'day all. I am Greg and I am from Buderim, Queensland, Australia. I turned 50 in 2013 and started to feel mortal. I have a Yamaha TRX-850 motorcycle that have had since it had 0.3 km on the odometer. I build computers for fun now....used to do it as a business. I like gaming....but I am only average at it. Towards the end of 2013 I started to feel age slipping by. So I built two new computers for myself and young William (13) here at home. I even threw in water cooling for something different.....got Battlefield4 and Call of Duty Ghosts.......xmas time......booooorrrrrrreeeed. Started to put bling all over my motorcycle....no reason....just could. Looked at it one day....and said Yukkkk what have you done. Took most of it off.......booooooooorrrreeeed. Thought that maybe I should go back and finish my studies at University. Lasted one month.......boooorrrreeed. Early January was at work and watched and listened to what some people were doing. They were talking about and playing guitar. I though to myself that I had never done music.....wanted too....but sport and being good at it got in the way. Now I am over 50 maybe it is time. Always wanted to play an electric guitar. The acoustic thing has never been for me....thinking different now. Wandered into a few music shops.....surfed the net.....my god how expensive are some of these guitars.....and then you have all the bits that go with it.....and what if I can't play and get bbbbbboooooorrrreeeddd with it......hmmmm. I finally found a group of guys right up my alley......they are in Sydney in Australia. http://www.artistguitars.com.au I bought a "fat" start and amp and bag pack delivered to my door for under $200-00. Yes it is all made in China, allegedly in their own factory. So I knew what I was getting. Now how to learn to play.....surfed some forums.....and found Rocksmith 2014. Jumped all over youtube and watched 60 day challenge videos, reviews, gamers using it, musicians using it, guitar teachers using it. Thought that this might be the tool for me. (Did a lesson as the only adult in a room of under 12 year olds....not cool.) I have been buying PS3, Mac and PC software from this place for some time now.....so headed over and they had a good price on Rocksmith 2014 with a real tone cable. http://www.ozgameshop.com I then added RS2014 to my steam account and went from there. I have since bought the original Rocksmith and the disc import tool....so have both sets of songs. I have also bought a few DLC packs....Matchbox 20, Kiss, and some individual songs. I was mucking around on Rocksmith 2014 channel on youtube and found a video of somebody playing a song they had gotten from customsforge......jumped on a browser and here I am. I did not get pointed this way....was not recommended by a friend.....just tripped over you guys on youtube. Sadly, I have since pointed my friends and some people with Rocksmith in this direction as well.....so maybe a few aussies will invade. During May 2014 I got the itch to try a better guitar.....My artist guitars strat is great.....just wanted to see what a step up would give me. Asked some friends and surfed some more. I made a choice and grabbed a Yamaha Pacifica 112V in the old violin sunburst....picture as the background header on my profile. Young William saw mine and liked it....so watched online and got him a Yamaha Pacifica 212VFM in translucent black....112V with a flame maple body veneer and headstock veneer.....looks good....better in real life than pictures.....little jealous actually. During May the daily playing of Rocksmith had led me to wanting to play when not plugged into my pc. The little amp that came with the guitar was just tooooo loud, and needed to be turned to 11 to get good sounds. Searched about and found some recommendations for a third amp....not a big stage amp, not a still loud but smaller practice amp.....but a third amp you can use inside a house, lounge, bedroom or in a study etc. I have the Yamaha THR-10 version 2 in wonderful boring beige. This is such an awesome amp....I do not do it justice and hope that I make full use of it as my skills grow. The sounds from this thing are amazing....and it runs on batteries as well as wall power. http://au.yamaha.com/en/products/musical-instruments/guitars-basses/amps/thr/thr10_v2/?mode=model#tab=product_lineup So that is me.....my rather wordy journey.....and hello.

  15. Hey all, I just wanted to let everyone know we're still making huge progress with our future projects. A few things we are working on: Ignition: This is our new front-end we've been working on. It will have all of these functions built in: Search, Requests, an area just for CDLC Creators (tutorials, upload and manage songs, and more). We've been working hard on Ignition and at this moment it's taking up most of our time. Another project we're working on that I would like to announce officially is a Song Manager program for our users. You will be able to finally manage all of your DLC. We'll have more information about this project in the coming months. I personally want to thank all of our staff for making all of this possible, and the community for the continued support.

  16. I also think it is a great idea, the only problem is that everyone sees certain songs at different difficulties. What might be impossible for me might be easy for you. I suck at playing chords, but I'm good at tapping, some people are the other way around. That's just my opinion, but I do like the idea.

  18. As you'll see from my example the two don't always match :) That 8 for phrase length was also due to the 12/8 time signature on all but about 2 bars of that song, most others I take it back down to 4 for phrase length, and then some songs still have levels ranging from 5 to 9. I mosty take the number from the lead guitar chart unless it's a custom without lead as they are generally the more complex tracks, but I do review each to be sure. Another benefit of enabling the logging is you can see where DDC has identified errors and the action it has taken (if any) to try and resolve them, this information in turn can help you to make things better in the future, it also helps if trying to troubleshoot problems with the generated custom afterwards.

I'll be passing the First Act guitars on to someone else soon. The acoustic is in bad shape but it belonged to my mother so it is hard to give that one up. The 3 electrics and bass are the only ones that get any real playing done on them.

  27. I might be wrong, but depending on the complexity of the song, it will generate different amounts of levels. To find out how many levels a song has, you must open the XML generated by the Dynamic Difficulty Creator in Editor On Fire. Anyways, I don't think too many people get confused when they see 1 difficulty level, I think they mainly look at whether DD is Yes or No.
