I practiced this one the most out of all of them yet you guys still obliterated me 😛

i opened it in eof to analyze it a bit more

Theres a metronome throughout the song but denver is slightly late or early ( can be up to 1/32 note, its not constant which is relief cause i also tend to struggle to keep in time so its nice seeing it happen with a pro).

Basically you have to ignore the metronome/ tapping and try to play where he plays the guitar ( which is hard to predict since its not as constant as the metronome)... its also a bit hard since this is a rendition of the song and not really the notes he plays  ...so yea xD...

I agree that the current tabbed lead path theoretically doesnt have anything too hard which generally would make it be a beginer/ intermediate song however the timing/tempo/and it not landing where you think it might land makes it really hard to get a good score. There's probably another version of the song by john denver that is more cdlc friendly to tab/play along to/ doesnt have a metronome/ has a metronome and he plays more on beat.

should we do ratings off of score or off of content? I wouldnt mind lowering it but seems like not that many people are getting 95+s? Any technique will be hard to those who dont use it ..so i guess the line is a bit blurry

anyways its a really good song and i do enjoy the campfire lead rendition, fun fingerpicking warmup thanks rodman, hard version to tab!

congrats to all of you with highscores, hope to see more!

Yeah. Well - when i do a song that is missing in the db i always try to use the original version that has been released, so in that case i ripped the track from the 1971

Poems, Prayers and Promises. And yeah, there is that metronome which John doesn´t seem to care so much about. Fun thing - he seems to have used metronomes all the way there, cause also the other later recordings of that songs i just listened to feature that 🙂

I did that already 6 years ago when i wanted to have some campfire songs to practice with my acoustic, so the important part for me then was the rhythm track i created. When i played the lead now that week first cause i was a bit shocked that the pattern has nothing to do with Johns playing. Most likely 6 years ago that was totally unplayable for me and i was happy to get a somewhat decent version together. Initially i was a bit pissed about that being my most downloaded CDLC, but i took some time to play it and on the pro side - if you only have one guitar and no band it plays quite nicely....

There are 3 guitars and a banjo on the track and the main driving track is something like that:

I think i´ll try to find the time to create a complete new lead based on the above, adding a bit of the intro melody and put the lead we have now as alternate. Then also it would be easier to match the timing to his playing when i got the actual notes played, but lets see for that - i might have to create 2 EOF files, cause the bass will likely follow the metronome well.

Thank you so much for listening closely and giving feedback - that helps so much.

Rock!! Rod.

Thx for the difficulty feedback, everyone - Diffs are updated and matched in opening post and in leaderboard sheet.

For Babymetal all paths we accept scores from both versions of the song!

somehow note recognition just don't wanted to work with this song, dunno whats wrong here... (tried several fixes, even the dashboard shows the correct note, but in 90% of the cases even the full notes just don't get recognized)

A few hours later...

Ok... redid the song. @ cacahuate51  - you´ll like that better.

LEAD - It plays the lead - single note melody. cool to play so i left it as lead (7.5 or smthg)

BONUS LEAD - the lead wea already had, except that i redid the whole beatmap - it´s in sync with the guitar now, not the metronome 😉 so much better.

RHYTHM - The Rhythm pattern Denver plays - damn hard, damn cool. Spent the last 2 hours trying to get the chords shown correctly, failed. pain in EOF - if someone is confident with that please contact me.

ALT RHYTHM - the campfire guitar we had - also better synced

BASS - redone - the bassline from the song.

Everyone who likes - take a ride 😉

Rod.

PS: The 2.0 version has a unique DLCID and new arrangement IDs - so both can stay in your library.

damn @Rodman you went all out on this cdlc! overall really fun! i know how time consuming it can be to make a cdlc and especially one like this so i really respect the effort/ dedication!
20240706114339-1.jpg
very fun new path strongly reccomend everyone to try it out!!(added link to the main post it is also above in rodmans comment and might aswell leave as a link here ) amazed you tabbed it .
20240706114734-1.jpg
had to play it again cause it was lots of fun! even played it another time but i got a worse score so im not posting that 😛 i personally think it could pass as an advanced 6.5 song

20240706115947-1.jpg
im still pretty bad at it need more practice
20240706113616-1.jpg
And here I thought your campfire rendition was tricky 😛 This one imo could be masterclass 7.5- 8 or higher..Might be biased cause I dont finger pick as much so itll be interesting to see other peoples opinion. It is alot more like the actual song really impressed (atleast from the small bit I could play xD) . The picking is less obvious to me which is why i think itd be masterclass  . both paths would benefit from some ctrl shift h (handshapes) to make it easier to sightread
20240706120323-1.jpg
seems like the one in the previous version but i think i have better detection on this one.
20240706120909-1.jpg
i enjoy both versions of this path.  i do like that this one has the chromatiscms so thanks for updating it!!
