  1.     I confess, I've had plenty of practice on this tune..."Teacher", was a song on my bands' setlist.

  2. Leave it to a FreeBird to behave like a seagull - swoop in, make unpleasant noise, drop unwanted deposits and then soar into the distance. ;) Both beginner bass songs this week are just too easy to the point of being boring. I did one pass through of each, without RR and both scores were 99% plus. I'd never even heard the song Where The Sky Ends before and still scored 100%. For Who Can It Be Now, I had to settle for 99.2%. Teacher was more challenging and probably my choice for practice this week. After an hour in RR i"m at 95%. The middle bit around the flute solo will take some work. Kickstart My Heart seems easy to score well on bass, but tougher to play well. Not having heard the song before, I scored 98%. If I liked the genre, I could learn the song and improve my playing, but I'd have more fun sticking to Teacher. I'll stop crapping all over the place and fly away now :P

  4. First scores/reviews http://oi61.tinypic.com/w20ymq.jpg SWEEPS, MY ONLY WEAKNESS, this is a very nice tune though, very enjoyable to listen to Diff id say 9, this song is short, sweet, sweep, and to the point Tab 7? I gotta double check those sweeps, but for the most part I thought this was a very good tab. I do think the main riff could use a bit better fretboard logic with open notes, but thats an easy transpose. Sync N/A Tone 8 This isnt more knocking the tone, but there was once where It was late on the switch, creating an awkward kind of moment http://oi60.tinypic.com/e5kwuh.jpg Diff 8, the arpeggios were rough, and I did think that the harmony was unexpected(even though i heard it the first 3 times I played it), fairly difficult but not impossible like lead. Tab 8 same problems stated with lead above Sync N/A Tone 8 This also had a late switch on tones http://oi59.tinypic.com/oapuma.jpg Bends on a bass, seriously, who does this? and why? Tab is an 8? again the bass in this song is very hard to hear and I cant confirm or deny anything, but for the most part I thought it was okay Sync 6: This is more me complaining about the recognition of a couple of notes, dunno where else to put this Tone 8: Too loud if you're going for true authenticity, but then again you want to be able to hear yourself playing, this is kinda of a double edged sword of a problem. Unsure if 10 will be possible for tone. EDIT 8 on difficulty for bass P.S. If anyone has recommendations for image hosting sites, postimg.org stopped showing the pics for me and I hate Tinypic...thanks in advance

  5. Have played MC song. It is fantastic, I really like it. The only thing is that I can't pass that super mix of tapping and little sweeping and always get 3 crosses there in SA :) But that melody before is killer: at first it going to hands memory very fast and at second I were suprised I can play it without mistakes on 85% speed and even litter slower playing it makes me feel like I am flying somewhere, really... That song really motivates to participate this week hard. And that will be probably the last real competition week for me that year, I'm going back to university, so will have a small amount of freetime. http://i.imgur.com/vIlEHv4.jpg http://i.imgur.com/bSL1B9Z.jpg

  7. Adv Bass: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=504996759 Hoping to see these guys as they're playing local to where I live in Manchester around November :) Bass line's pretty simples, the odd leap to D string to "mix it up a bit" but nothing particularly "Arghhhh! Eye, brain hand co-ordination!!! Does not compute *click click* Roger, Roger!" moments... about a 5ish imo... not sure on the tone as I'm not sure if my game was loading it or not, lately have been having some issues with tones disappearing when I tab out from a song. Happened about 30 times with Helsinki Jam, both versions but it's happened with other tracks and ODLC's too so it's an issue with my computer. Can't seem to get Jethro and Sylosis to load, for some reason the dropbox simultaneously downloaded 2 versions of both CDLC's and I can't fathom out why they're not unpacking correctly... I'll sort it later with a re DL, but now, WORK! :)

  17. She did choose the song, so I'd guess it's a song she knows quite well and has played a lot (probably out of game) rather than that she's mastered the song in two hours. Either way, it's pretty impressive.

  22. In perfect harmony there is... no me, no you ... so one always do break it for more fun... for me for you, and for some other people and things too. Yep, Planned to only mention "later" charter. In many cases earlier charter is buried, or something like that. As i have mentioned, i have reported all other issues straight to charter... not yet reported or unknown to charter issues. So listed issues are truly known by charter. Except was: Same namers That's not the case as Warren Zevon didn't crash my game once so I didn't know there was an issue. I seriously doubt a charter would release a cdlc if they knew it crashed a game.

But its still up to charter fix or not as usual...

  24. the testing idea sounds very similar to what I've tried in the CC. The convenience there was a random selection of 4 songs that are played anyway by the participants, so it shouln't be too much to give some ratings about the 3 points or 1 or 2 of them, but it didn't work really. I think the collaboration thing should be realizable in the most social groups, maybe with some admins with the needed skills for that. For only testing cdlcs someone could found a new group where existing cdlcs can be proved. I would singn up for such a group and offer my help anyway if wanted.

  26. Tons of awesome stuff you have put out over the last week or so. Particularly wanted to thank you for Iced earth. Travel is one of my favorite tracks from them along with The Coming Curse and Atilla. I noticed you were looking at doing Lost Horizon-Highlander (The One), before you spend any time on it you should know that Teinashu has done it. Its complete on guitar but I think he is doing the bass and vocals still (he hates to release unfinished stuff). I also loved the Death songs you did. Though I still can't believe no one has done their version of Painkiller.....

  30. If you list a song any song which has an issue you should list the charter as well so they know there is a problem ( i.e. they get a notification if they are mentioned ) as I for one would like to know so I can fix it.

  33. Well, I suppose there could be a few different things that come out of it. If it were to be a group collaboration thing, it might make sense to keep it in a private forum (like this social group), and only let people in who you (or whoever heads the group, of which there could be several for different genres) trust to do a good job at their part. For the different parts, the most obvious breakdown of roles that I see is sync, transcribe/arrange, polishing, and tone work (not all of which have to be different people). There's a pretty natural "handoff" structure, where the syncer syncs and produces a synced EoF file, the transcriber/arranger produces a GP file with the arrangements for bass, lead, and rhythm (or whatever) set up (and if it's a very non-obvious song structure or there are no existing GP tabs, maybe send them to the syncer before he starts syncing), the EoF project and GP file go to the polisher, who gets the tracks set up and polished, then things (either EoF project folder or .psarc) go off to the toner, who gets good tones for the song. And I guess you could also have someone to do the vocals somewhere in there. Then you'd probably have to figure out a credit structure - probably the easiest thing to do would be to make a new account that represents the group. The main problem I see is that the transcriber/arranger can either be a trivial task for great GP files or take orders of magnitude more time than the other tasks. For the other idea, it wouldn't necessarily have to be group internal testing (which to me would imply a smaller group of people testing things before release), but just a group of people who will try to critically evaluate already released CDLC if requested. Charters could submit their own for consideration if they think they're good enough, or people could also submit the work of others for consideration if they think it's great and want it to be recognized, or even if it's not very good but an interesting song selection (more as a "Hey, this guy is doing interesting things but looks like he could use some help learning the ropes. How can we help him out?" than a "Look at this guy! He sucks!"). Then people in the group would give feedback and decide whether the custom should receive an accolade or not. I can post more later, but I'm going to get lunch now.

  34. I was just thinking about things that might be useful to me, and started thinking about how slides are imported into Rocksmith. I have a couple of ideas (apologies if these are features I'm unaware of). The first was whether it would be possible to have an option to import slides as unpitched rather than pitched when importing from GP files. I feel like usually when there's a slide I want it to be unpitched rather than pitched (a la this section of Aces High), with the main exception being when there's a slide into a sustained note (with no picking on the new note), which I usually have to stop and fix anyway with a linknext and such. Another reason for this is also that pitched slides often aren't adjusted for hand positions (whereas this doesn't really matter for unpitched slides), which can make for some awkward transitions (i.e. when the the 4th finger is used to slide down to a subsequent 1st finger fret). The second was whether it would be possible for slides off of sustained notes with ties to be imported as the first note linknexted to the last one, then a slide off of that (so it would be a sustain then slide rather than a slow slide). That is, if I had a GP file that had something like (parentheses indicates tied note) 5---(5)\-2 that it would import as a, say, quarter note 5 linknexted to an eighth note 5 with a slide down to the second fret. But if it were a dotted quarter 5 instead it would still import as a slower slide down. Would either of these be possible? They'd really make my life a lot easier when trying to polish CDLC. Thanks!
