Set the World on Fire Updates: Set the World on Fire Bass Set the World on Fire Rhythm Set the World on Fire Lead The Lead part is way too difficult for me, i will pass on that this week and see if i can get Rhythm and Bass a little bit higher. 2. Update score lead Megadeth: http://i.imgur.com/LHBGVXkl.jpg P.s previous run was with very good streak 392, i almost good learned arpeggio at verse. So i sure, that almost every of int participants can learn it in RR. But still yet have problem with shifting at chorus, often lost fret position, and main source "miss" for me, it is post solo part, with open strings and hammer on. http://i.imgur.com/0orrM0Am.jpg

  3. Not a better accuracy score, but I want to make sure @@then3verend doesn't become afraid if he checks out the in-game leaderboard. http://i.imgur.com/fe2gdP8.jpg The good news is I only missed in three places - the fast legato sections before the verse riff first comes in, after the first chorus, and the tapping section, and I feel pretty good about maintaining that accuracy outside of those sections (except maybe the slide down right before the first chorus). The bad news is I missed lots at each of those sections. In the video I made earlier missed 1, 1, and 3 notes in those three sections, so if I can get lucky/learn those sections better I should be in business. Only problem is it's really hard in real time to tell how many misses I get on those sections (unless they go catastrophically bad and my multiplier goes below the most recent checkpoint), which makes it harder to know if I should restart or not. Wish I could say I could master these sections, but the only one I feel like I have the skill to master in the next few days is the one after the chorus. The one before the first verse is early enough I suppose I could keep trying it until I make it through without a miss, which would probably be the most surefire way to make sure I didn't miss 5 notes without realizing it. Feel like I need to practice it more before that's a good use of my time, though.

  10. Updated cdlc Megadeth v2.5 -->> Adjusted beatmap in subject area, and slightly in other places. I think half of troubles with detection there, is no clear rhythm, guitar played there not exactly in beat (and yet bass drum shifted of main beat), and hard catching right timing. But it possible to pass without miss. |Yet i added in bonus tracks lead and rhythm metronome, try to use it. Update score: http://i.imgur.com/VTDKbRJl.jpg

But when they do, he starts on the 1 and goes up the neck. :D It should be unpinched slide nevertheless in my opinion. ;)

  27. Oh, it was one of those things where the jewels (seemingly) randomly shift off of the beat markers? I've definitely had that happen to me a few times when making customs. Have to admit I have no idea why that happens unless I accidentally dragged them. That happens to me about 90% of the time when I open EoF, it's a real pita :)

  28. Yes you can use cdlc with RS2014 no matter where you get it from. Not related to the initial question, but the disc from RS 1 was just an executable with a pointer to DL from steam anyway, so it's probably the same for RS 2014

  30. @@SmellyOrc I am able to produce a working CDLC from the project files that you provided with toolkit version 9312319f (screen shot of my setup after I clicked Generate). I think the problem is with your workflow steps 6 and 7. 6) Add real tones to my tone list (DON'T use Add button. Use Edit button and then Load Tone button to overwrite the existing incomplete/unpopulated EOF tone.) 7) Edit arrangement to change the tones to the ones that I have loaded. (DON"T edit the arrangement. If you add tones properly using Edit the toolkit will automatically update the arrangements with new tone names. Editing the arrangement only breaks the tones.) See my step 3 below for more detail. Here is my work process that produces working CDLC. In the toolkit Creator GUI I did the following: 1. In Arrangments groupbox ... Add Lead (PART REAL_GUITAR_22_RS2.xml) Add Rythum (PART REAL_GUITAR_RS2.xml) Add Bass (PART REAL_BASS_RS2.xml) Toolkit pops up Tuning Editor form warning you because the Bass EOF xml tuning element has: You can correct this by clicking the red X (upper right corner) on Tuning Editor form popup to close it and then select the proper bass tuning in the Add Arragment form Tuning combobox, I used E standard. Also my personal choice, I changed tuning on the guitar parts from D Standard to E Standard so that I wouldn't have to retune my guitar for testing. 2. In Files groupbox ... Add Album Artwork (folder1hj.dds). Add Audio (guitar.ogg). I did not find any custom tone files in the project folder so I added my own for Clean, Lead, Distortion, and Lead End. 3. In Tones groupbox ... I added custom tones using the Edit Tone form and clicking Load Tone. The tones I used were named Bass, Clean, Acoustic and End. The toolkit successfully renamed the tones according to what was loaded. You can also generate CDLC without adding tones and toolkit will use default tone values (which may not sound too good). If you click Generate now toolkit will throw an error because Song Information, Year and Version fields are not filled in so fill these in first and then Generate. The files described in the steps above are the only files I needed to generate a CDLC for this song. The toolkit works as expected and produced working (confirmed by testing) CDLC from the project files you provided. If you follow these steps you should be able to produce a working CDLC too. I did find one bug in the Tone Editor which is unrelated to your original issue. The Load Tone and Save Tone are not working as expected which has no effect on CDLC Generation. I could not load tones from my archived tones2014.xml files and saved tones are not being named correctly for reuse. I will fix this in a future release. Please note that I did not use the "Amorphis_Day-of-Your-Beliefs_RS2014.dlc.xml" with Load Package because my system paths are different than yours. Also using Load Package can also result in some errors. Good luck.

  32. This may sound weird, but maybe you need to try going a bit slower, at least for a bit. While I certainly spend more time at the faster speeds in RR, I feel like the slower speeds are probably more important in terms of understanding and deconstructing the riffs and figuring out how I'll attack them at faster speeds (which is why I really appreciate customs that have lots of sections, as otherwise I tend to get impatient sitting through stuff at 50% speed that I already know I can do. This makes score attack much harder, but I think I've found a workaround by making lots of sections in a bonus arrangement while the main arrangement has relatively few). Anyway, here's an example of me working on a riff on one of my customs that's within my technical abilities (neither hand has to go at ridiculous speeds, it doesn't require crazy long legato, or tapping, or slap and pop, a totally flummoxing plucking pattern, or something like that), but still quite tricky at full speed. For something I'd need a new (or improved) technique for, I'd do much more practice at slow speeds, like I mentioned doing for that one section of the Orion solo last week. Anyway, I tried to put some commentary into the video description so you can follow along with what I'm trying to do at different points in the video. I probably should just get a decent webcam at some point so I can do it verbally and you can actually see me trying out different things at 50% speed.

  35. http://s15.postimg.org/cy92sh4cr/2015_06_09_00008.jpg I still give it about a 7, and heres why: That chorus is very dynamic, and while I know the notes, I still dont have the muscle memory for the song. I couldnt even hope for someone with a more than basic level to understand or see what needs to be played. They would just see 6 9 6 7 10 2 4 5 4 5 7 9 7 6 9 etc...Wanting to know what the numbers mean...String skipping should be a new concept, not a basic requirement. The Bridge, okay so yes, it is o2 oo on the D and G with E going 0 3 2 1, but if you get lost on that 0 3 2 1 on the E...good luck coming back. IF you dont want your score to die just focus on the o2 oo until it is second nature, then do that with the 0 3 2 1 After mastering songs like Twist and Shout and Connection, this should not be the next step in difficulty. I know Dead-end friends is much harder than this, but i do feel like these are both solid Advanced songs... Now with that said... This is a great goal song for Intermediate players, its a great taste of techniques and ideas that are basic requirements in Advanced. While this may be out of the range for some Intermediate players. They all should shoot to master this song someday.

  36. Thanks @@albatross213, @@Gamut and @@Mortalo, I probably spend an hour a day in RR at about 80% speed trying to work the kinks out of the advanced bass track for the week. I try to get to the point of near zero misses before speeding it up in small steps. My difficulty is that the time limit forces me to step up to full speed before my skill level is ready. I'm afraid of reinforcing sloppy habits.

  38. @ Don't be ridiculous. Combat Baby is really, really difficult song. For Intermediate at least. We added Advanced class because we felt that Intermediate was filling way too wide gap. You could level up from Beginner with not complicated From Our Hands - Sinners and get to play The Trooper next week. Or level up from Intermediate with Pour Some Sugar On Me and play War Pigs following week. So we added Advanced to ease the progression to MasterClass. Thus we allowed some easier songs to Intermediate, while taking the high end Int's and low end MC's to separate class. Still it's not a shame to struggle with a song in your class. Ba, I should even say that that's the goal. After all if you can handle song in your class, you should go up.

  39. @Gamut Classical system of practice mean a lot of repetition of simple basic techniques from which to build complex technique. And even professional always continue practiced on the base. I practiced in Aikido about 10 years, and know exactly how it work. if you have not perfect basic technique you can not have even good advanced technique. Аnd even when you have reached good advanced technique, you should praсtice with basic always, else you advanced techniques dilapidated If to say about guitar, all complex technique it is the mix of basic technique + speed up, all you need is to train every components to perfect state, step by step. So no point to try jumping over 2 meter, if you can not jumping over 1.5m. And especially no point practice in jumping over 2 m, if can not pass 1.5 m. Off course is possibility pass 1.5 with bad row of steps, from wrong position, but then you very fast riched gap, and you still have to go back to start for relearn basic.

  40. @@2groggy et. all: I think doing stuff above your skill level is a really critical part of improving. Not too far ahead, but just enough to spur on "a-ha!" moments. Getting better is all about playing the songs that are a notch or two above where you're at, and figuring out how to close the gap. Of course, there's nothing wrong with playing easy stuff for pleasure, I do that all the time too. But if you're bulking up at the gym, you don't get bigger by doing the same amount every day - the majority of your practice time should be spent pushing your limits.

  43. Dead End Friends on bass is up to 85% but still feels like a random note generator on the last third. I decided to try something easier just for fun and got over 98% on Goodnight Moon bass on my 2nd and 3rd attempts. I've got a sinking feeling that working on songs that are too far over my head does more harm than good because I can't learn them and build up my speed in one week, so I make do with sloppy as long as I get a valid score.

  44. @comp @Alex360 I think there is a problem with that song. Other RS1 CDLC are still converting ok. I am investigating. EDIT: So the problem is that the Bass arrangement xml element is wrong in the RS1 CDLC file. It is currently set to "Lead". Here's how to fix this CDLC song. In the Creator GUI, press Import Package. Select the song. After the toolkit loads the RS1 song into the GUI. Select (highlight) "Guitar -Rythm" and press Remove. Now open up "Part REAL_BASS.xml" in the GR\Behaviors\Songs folder and manually edit it. Change "Lead" to "Bass", save and close. Then back in the Creator GUI manually adding the three arrangements back. Press Add and select each XML file again from the GR\Behaviors\Songs folder. Adjust the tones for each arrangement or leave as default. Then press Generate. Your song should work. I will try to add an exception handler to the toolkit so that users are alerted of this condition and the need to manually edit. I am nice guy, I will just automate these types of repairs in next release.

As you find corrupt CDLC you may want to post them for @lahelio so he can add them to his list of crashers and jammers. The new version of CGT provides much more detailed information about corrupt CDLC than ever before. Edit: @lahelio the new CST CDLC error messages includes specific details about what makes the CDLC corrupt. I remember you had questions about this in past.

  48. Aww I didn't know there was an information panel. Thanks. and for #3, i meant it should automatically set you upto be notified for updates, (and not comments/replies on the thread) it used to have this functionality on the forum. but clicking on follow, then choosing the song updates, on each song, gets tiring fast, if i'm downloading it, obviously i'd like to be notified on when the cdlc is updated. #4, also i would like the list to be auto created, and not dependent on me adding it to my collection, again for every song.there are over 10,000 songs available, can you imagine having to add each one to your collection? Now. awhile ago they started using a cs link to download tracks to keep track of download counts, i'm sure. ( in that process.php they could also easily keep track of who downloads what, what version it is, and when it was downloaded (That info should of been stored from the start of process.php, if it wasn't then whoever wrote it, isn't a very good coder.) now that's not saying it's not keeping that info, I don't know, but if it isn't it should be. then it could give us our list, and personal updates, and then it could be used to auto notify us when the songs we have downloaded are updated as well.
