  4. Changed strings to 11-48 gauge and still I couldn't improve on Ace of Spades, small improvement on Paradise Lost http://s9.postimg.org/ta03i7bcf/rocksmith.jpg I guess that old saying is correct....A poor workman blames his tools!

  5. There has been a lot of cdlc posted in the last few days but I am disappointed that we have moved away from the older classic rock from the 60s to 80s. Whats up with that. Come on guys lets get back to it. I will say thank you in advance if any get uploaded. :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad:

OK, so after watching the video tutorial on making CLDC's made by @@SkepticSquid here: http://customsforge.com/topic/841-how-to-make-cdlc-full-in-depth-tut-completed/ some of us still have difficulties so I thought that a non-video tutorial with screenshots and text instead might also be helpful, let's start: I've divided everything into 6 sections, some of them are currently in progress, but in the end you will be able to make your own customs for Rocksmith 2014. Rhythm: Open Chords (C, Am, G, F) 1st position.Lead: Power Chords (C5, A5, G5, F5) all over the low-E string for a heavier sounds.Bass: Single notes over the low 3 strings 1st position. The track is 12 bars each its own 2 independent section without counting the lead-in silence and the out. Well 12 in 4/4 time, you can also think of them as 24 in 2/4... I had to do it this way or there would be over 256 levels of difficulty. Each section has 20 difficulties each with a completely different rhythm pattern: 1 & 2 &0:1: *2: *3: *4: *5: * *6: * *7: * *8: * *9: * *10: * *11: * * *12: * * *13: * * *14: * * *15: * * * *16: * * * 1/617: *** 1/1218: *** 1/1219: *** *** 1/12That should be enough to let you practice almost any rhythm. Using this page as reference we some example strums patterns using 4 sections: #1 15 15 15 15#2 6 6 6 13#3 6 13 6 13#4 13 13 13 13#5 6 14 13 14#6 1 7 11 13#7 13 13 13 13 with only the bass strings on the 1st beat of each#8 6 15 6 15 only bass strings on the 1st beat of the 6s#9 6 13 6 13 only bass strings on both beats of the 6sBasically it is mix and match to form the patterns you want.Needless to say you want Riff Repeater to NOT level your sections up automatically if you want specific patterns, BUT it is fun to get constantly changing patterns too so that's another way to play.   8. ...when I find a great tab for guitar but all of the tabs out there have a worthless bass track. It took me about an hour to get the guitar parts done for Refugee, and am having to do the entire bass track by ear, adding the notes manually to the chart. So far I've been doing that for about 6 hours and am maybe halfway finished. It is oh so tedious. On the up-side, I'm learning a lot of things about bass that I didn't know before.

  11. Generally speaking, if it's happening with CDLC, it is a .dll file issue. If the song just doesn't show up, it's an app id problem. If most CDLC are working but just that one won't, try repackaging it with the Rocksmith Toolkit. If THAT doesn't work, the song is broken. The last option is to try to update the app id for the song,, also done with the toolkit. I would just do app id and repack at the same time. Sometimes that will fix it, sometimes not. But it seems you have the .dll file wrong. Does the little debug window pop up before Rocksmith launches? If not that's the .dll file.

  15. But we allowed to post different version of same song... We have been working on allowing the conversion of older songs. I think we almost have it nailed down for how we are going to do this, just a little more time. As you can imagine this website is a huge undertaking and so even the decisions that seem like little ones, take time to ensure they are done to the best of the community. :ugeek:

  16. Another frustration... when charters don't set a beatmap to the audio, but instead sync to the notes. Which means the notes don't fall on the measure and beat lines in Rocksmith.

  17. Weird. I thought Layla had already been done? There was an RS1 version. The GP files won't be in sync unless you've already set the beat map. And even after that, you usually need to select-all and copy, then delete, then line up the cursor to the first beat (where the guitar part begins) and paste. Don't just select-all and drag the notes into place, this will throw them off the beat.

  25. I've been learning ever since RS2014 came out and I've been constantly practising, but I feel that I've kind of hit a wall so that I can't get much better without being able to alternate pick. I hold my pick correctly, but my upstrokes just always sound and feel off, and it doesn't sound good when I try to alternate pick (and I can only do it relatively slowly).Does anyone know any ways I could get better at this?

  28. I hope this site doesn't go down in flames like the other did. It's absolutely amazing and I love coming here several times a day. The search is fantastic, the theme is too. I hope everything can just work out. I'm poor so I couldn't afford to donate but I would have liked to. My very first track was either a poor choice or a good one, depending on how you look at it. http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/brown-eyed-girl-r4206 The bpm did a slow increase throughout the song from 149 to 160, and the bass tab was accurate enough for a live performance but the actual single is more like a 3 minute bass solo. Major headache (took about a week to complete) but I did teach me ALOT about how to make customs.

  31. I've got one, it's almost complete....except for a four-measure section (which comes back a few times) where whoever tabbed it must have thrown his hands up in despair. What they hell ARE those chords? I also really hate it when they place the solos on a separate track -- as if people actually listen to GP files for pleasure -- but that's easy enough to fix.

  32. I've tabbed a whole bass part for a song. It really does suck. One other complaint, I may as well add, about guitar pro tabs is that some tabs will be missing a series or single repeat and it really pisses me off.

  34. another thing... would it be possible to add something to reflect the "slightly flat/sharp" tunings... a lot of the CDLC I did are all in A427, and it would be nice to have that really obvious in the search.

  35. Alternatively you could always abduct the guitarist you most like to play like, abduct a surgeon. Force the surgeon to chop off your hands, chop off the guitarist's hands and sew his onto your wrists and yours onto his wrists. Although if you do that you'll probably have to kill them both and dispose of their bodies, the idea of the surgeon continuing to work on sewing your hands onto the guitarist's wrists is just to lull him into a false sense of security before you land the killing blow. Did I mention those voices I hear in my head..? :eek: :mrgreen: :-P
