  2. Hello,We are now taking votes on releasing an CDLC approved area. mini-faq: What does this mean? If the votes equal "YES", we would launch a new CDLC area for APPROVED CDLC's only. This means the CDLC will have everything finished, and tested by the community. This would include: Lead, Rhythm, Bass, Vocals, Custom Tones, Synced up, RR And optional DD. (NO issues) (exception is if one of the Arrangement types isn't available for the song)Additionally, you would need the appropriate album artwork, title, and everything else So like SA's old system, right? Similar yes, but better executed. All of the "approved" CDLCs would have to be 100% finished, in the correct format, and at an appropriate host that won't delete the song in a week or month if not downloaded. EDIT: This is NOT going to a separate section! There will be three filters - approved, unapproved, and in progress. The default will be to show all customs, but you can filter if you would like to see only approved customs. It will be integrated within our current search.

  3. Hello folks, Using this to keep updated what I'm working on, how soon it will be ready for release, take requests, get input/feedback, etc. Current Works in Progress: Crosby, Stills, & Nash, Southern Cross Jethro Tull, Up to Me Completed Works: Dio, Don't Talk to Strangers James Taylor, Fire and Rain - Will be adding the bass to this, hopefully...it's a double, bowed bass, and I haven't quite figured out what to do with it. Will be cleaning up the beginning of the song, too. Iced Earth, Waterloo Indigo Girls: Closer to Fine Future Projects: Alan Parson's Project: Sirius and Eye in the Sky - Will include the lead guitar at the end of the song. May do a live version to get the whole thing in before it fades out. Alan Parson's Project: Games People Play Black Sabbath: Die Young, Voodoo Fiddle Fever: Ashokan Farewell (Thematic music from Ken Burn's "The Civil War") Indigo Girls: Nashville Jethro Tull: Rocks on the Road, One White Duck, Quizz Kid, Elegy, Dun Ringill, Farm on the Freeway- I have to transcribe RotR...doing the live version from "A Little Light Music" and have to transcribe Quizz Kid. Have to check on the quality of the tabs I have for Elegy and Dun Ringill. Moved FotF here from in progress. EDIT: March 18, 2014 Abandoned Farm on the Freeway for awhile. Will get back to that one later.

  4. We're working on so many features for you guys, unfortunately it takes time. I don't pay our developers (and I wish I could) so it's all based on freetime. We'll get there though. :)

  8. I use DD all the time for the official Rocksmith songs. For the most part, they've been pretty carefully developed. At least it seems like someone took the time to make the choices about what to show for each progressive level. That said, anyone who'd attempt to program DD in EOF has my admiration. Just the amount of time that would take -- just to make the right choices about what to include and what not to include. The DDC works pretty well, all things considered. It's easy enough to add that to a psarc, so I don't see why we shouldn't do this. More important than DD, I think is dividing the song up into sections. One huge disappointment of the RS2014 Riff Repeater is that the sections are still too long (in official songs). But CDLCs give us control over this. I'd like to see people be encouraged to add a lot more sections to each file -- it's easy to combine small sections. It's annoying to have to wait through an entire long section just to see the one or two notes you're not quite getting. Apart from a checklist, though, I'm against ratings of any kind. That just encourages bad blood -- and trolls. The comment threads are there for people to alert charters if something's not quite right with a custom. I know that's helped me out a lot.

  9. Your only options that I know of is to do what @@GetTheLedOut suggested, purchase another song you like that is in the toolkit's song list, or unpack your customs with the toolkit, change the appid with a text editor to one of your Kiss songs and then repack it. If your not sure how to do this we can walk you though it. IMHO though the easiest thing to do is to purchase another song you like. Kiss appid's are: Detroit Rock = 271422 Heaven's On Fire = 271424 I Was Made For Loving You = 271423

  10. The KISS DLCs came out fairly recently, so that's why the app ID isn't in the toolkit. It wouldn't hurt to bring this to the attentions of the devs over in toolkit sub-forum. Maybe it'd be easy for them to add.

  14. If there ever will be an official list of things required for the "perfect" CDLC, I would like to add "section names"! When you name the sections of a song "intro", "chrous", "verse", "brigde", "solo" and so on, Rocksmith regognizes those names ingame. So when you mess up the solo, the recommendation for that song will most likely be "go practise that solo", or "seems like you're having trouble with that chorus" and so forth! While this is not very important, it adds to the authentency of our CDLC. Also, I think it helps the DDC to do a good job. This is important if DD doesn't make it onto that official list :-)

  15. I'm a guy who believes in completeness. If I chart a song, I chart all the parts, and add all the 'bonus' to it (DD, sections, etc). I think approved songs should be as such. I want my song to be indistinguishable from official DLC, and I believe providing options is a good thing. It's easy to add DD to a song, and I like the level markers in it. I've also added non DD bonus arrangements for the DD rage crowd. Again, I believe in options. I chart songs I can't play because I want to learn how to play them. You don't necessarily have to be able to play them to ensure the chart is right. ...and... As a side note, it's cool to be passionate, but lets keep it civil in here, peeps. Everyone should be entitled to their own opinion without hostility. It's getting a little heated and it's easy for things to boil over. Rock On

  16. Adding DD is a fucking 10 second step in the toolkit for the creator, Its a 5 min step for someone who downloaded it work it out for fuck sake it no 2 second job for someone who doesn't even know how to use the toolkit and for those who say if you can't play it why create it, I made a song I cannot play and it seems to be one of my best pieces of work (except for the tone :???:) so you cant say if you can't play then dont make it thats not what RS is about I am afraid.

  17. The approved section on SA was the reason I no longer wanted to be a Mod on there due to the approved section being changed for just any old shit goes in here regardless of how complete it was, If you are saying complete then mean it complete not missing anything.

  18. I have over 400 and played over 350 from them and everything works fine :) Much faster than in RS1 and I do not have this problem that after some time RS2014 is slower, while in RS1 it was slower and slower to run the program after each day :) (btw: PC version)

  21. Yep, what they said, ALSO -----------------ALWAYS USE A METRONOME...... Even the pros do daily time practice with a metronome.. http://simple.bestmetronome.com/ <--- a little wind up key on the side to start it.... set your speed practice slowly with it.... It's also sort of like drumming and piano playing, coordination, timing and hitting the target spot accurately.See what it is you need to do, and go very slowly at first to ge the feel and maintain the accuracy, don't try to do it tempo.when learning new music on any instrument, first and foremost is go as slow as it takes to do it right, and do it over and over, never try to do it fast, speed will come with accuracy.next, you sit and watch tv while you practice it, and try to talk while you practice, this will help free you from intense concentration to just play, and your playing will become automatic..... Tools to learn with;Guitar Pro 6 1st choice. You can do more with more control in guitar pro for guitar than any other program. Guitar Pro 5 2nd This one is better for beginners, the ability to set the speed without it getting faster each time it plays. TuxGuitar 3rd FREE it loads gp5 files but handles them a little differently, you have to re-adjust the lyrics. & other minor details. Rocksmith 4th ONLY when using Riff Repeater, and only if the custom has been set up for it, and ALWAYS crank the difficulty to full 100% and speed down slow, and just master 1 section at a time. Listen to what is playing and to what you are playing, get to where you can play it by listening instead of watching before you crank the speed up, for piano mainly, but they do midi, with speed control so you can follow with guitar, (good to have both of these) Synthesia 9 FREE Musescore FREE older tools, Table Edit TabPro JAM (chords and lyrics only) Hydrogen is nice drum looping program, quickly set up a pattern to jam with. You can download loops, or song files or make your own. Enjoy...

  22. I like being part of a community where "general douchbaggery" is actually a violation of the terms of service. If only the entire world could implement this rule. I could just see a bunch of people I know getting pulled over "Sir, I'm gonna have to write you a ticket for being a douchbag". Sad part is, they wouldn't even be able to argue the point.....
