Rhythm: Open Chords (C, Am, G, F) 1st position.Lead: Power Chords (C5, A5, G5, F5) all over the low-E string for a heavier sounds.Bass: Single notes over the low 3 strings 1st position. The track is 12 bars each its own 2 independent section without counting the lead-in silence and the out. Well 12 in 4/4 time, you can also think of them as 24 in 2/4... I had to do it this way or there would be over 256 levels of difficulty. Each section has 20 difficulties each with a completely different rhythm pattern: 1 & 2 &0:1: *2: *3: *4: *5: * *6: * *7: * *8: * *9: * *10: * *11: * * *12: * * *13: * * *14: * * *15: * * * *16: * * * 1/617: *** 1/1218: *** 1/1219: *** *** 1/12That should be enough to let you practice almost any rhythm. Using this page as reference we some example strums patterns using 4 sections: #1 15 15 15 15#2 6 6 6 13#3 6 13 6 13#4 13 13 13 13#5 6 14 13 14#6 1 7 11 13#7 13 13 13 13 with only the bass strings on the 1st beat of each#8 6 15 6 15 only bass strings on the 1st beat of the 6s#9 6 13 6 13 only bass strings on both beats of the 6sBasically it is mix and match to form the patterns you want.Needless to say you want Riff Repeater to NOT level your sections up automatically if you want specific patterns, BUT it is fun to get constantly changing patterns too so that's another way to play. We're trying to provide a creative and fun environment for CDLC creators and rocksmith players. You will be warned a few times before a permanent ban. Please do not let it come to that. This forum is a place to learn how to make customs, post customs, and download customs for Rocksmith. Additionally I have updated the 'sendspace' rule: [*]Please use an approved site to host your customs - That includes Mediafire, Dropbox, Skydrive, BOX.com, Google Drive, 4shared, and zippyshare. PLEASE DO NOT USE SENDSPACE - users have had too many issues with Sendspace and is infuriating when trying to download multiple customs. If you do use sendspace, please provide a mirror that provides unlimited downloads PER ip and no download caps. This is my stance on sendspace (some users who use sendspace who have premium accounts are unaware of the problems for free users (aka downloaders) This is a direct quote from sendspace's website: "How fast can I download a file?The actual download speed achieved is dependent on the type of your connection to the Internet and traffic using the Internet at any given time. I shouldn't need a premium account to do the most basic things that the other big file carriers already have such as mediafire. For example: I went to download 50 customs the other day to update my collection. I was able to download about 40 fine, super fast at blazing speeds (I have 100mbit internet) yet had to wait about 10+ minutes for the ones at sendspace. They limit the max speeds plus only allow 1 download per IP. The downloaders shouldn't be punished with restrictions or forced to buy a premium account. If you use sendspace, please provide a mirror. We're not forcing you to stop using sendspace, just trying to have willing users that are able to switch, to switch.   6. Having leading silence is actually a good thing. IMO you should always have at least 3000 milliseconds of leading silence so that the player has a chance to get ready and be in position to play before the song actually starts. Once the leading silence is added, you'll want to move the first beat marker forward (to the right on piano roll). You'll also want to designate the time signature (4/4 being the most common). If the actually starts on the first beat of the measure, then you'll want to move the first beat marker to where the first note is played. If the song has a "lead in" measure where the music starts in the middle of a measure, you'll want to align the beat markers in accordance with this.   8. A few years back I picked up a guitar magazine with an article by Steve Vai called "Freak Show Excess." It has several pages of intense excersizes covering all manner of guitar playing as well as training tips and insight from Vai himself. They cover a program that Vai believed would help make someone a much better player with practice of his key concepts. It might make an excellent base for a set of guitar training excersizes. I lack the skill and fluidity to play them myself, but if anyone would like them to start a project of their own, I can provide you with them. -k

You contradict yourself - on the one side you want to recycle others work without asking them (recreate it from scratch if you think one is missing or be kind and ask) and now you write how much work you put into a custom and no one can take it away. What custom are you creating? Please post the song and artist and 2 or 3 other charters with some experience should do it faster than you and publish it before you. Then re-read your posts if it discourages you.

  14. Dunlop Ultex Jazz III 2.0. Best pick I ever used. I also have lots of Dunlop Max Grip Jazz III on stock, love those too. I HATE light picks, I find them extremely unresponsive, the delay from when I move my wrist to when the pick finally produces sound is insane.

  17. Lot of great albums mentioned and many are among my favorites. But this album just has to be mentioned: Diary of a Madman - Ozzy Osbourne Randy's guitar sounds so evil. I was in 5th grade and it changed my life. Huge influence on every metal guitarist in the 80's and ever since!!

  18. Well, the fact that the guy in the video bought one bad guitar just means... that he was stupid enough to spend $450 on a knockoff. I mean, seriously. Even a quick glance around -- ebay, Amazon, wherever-- will tell you that you can pick up a LP copy for as little as $100 (which includes the 75 percent markup the seller is taking). Paying this kind of money for aclear fake? Insanity. What would this guy's opinion have been if he'd paid $100 for it? I'm sure he'd be like a lot of people, posting glowing reviews of his excellent deal. Just have a look at people raving at the GFS guitars -- they're the same guitars. Now, here's another little factoid this guy doesn't know: That $2000 he paid for his Les Paul? Sheer marketing. The Gibson company was nearly bankrupt in the mid 80s or so when it was acquired by a group of Harvard MBA types. These people set out to restructure the company -- they did a lot of good work in that respect. But the biggest thing they figured out was: the higher they raised the price on their guitars, THE MORE THEY SOLD. Gibson also did an excellent job repositioning the Epiphone brand. For a long time, Epiphone was synonymous with crappy low-end guitars (like Squires). But they changed the brand positioning, and in the last 10 years or so, Epiphone has become a pretty respectable brand in its own right. It's basically Gibson's Asian-made line (because they know they'd destroy that $2000 price tag if they put the Gibson label on their Asian built guitars). And especially when you're getting into the higher-priced range of Epiphones -- and especially Epiphone's own guitar models (their reissues), they're making some great guitars now. For $450 bucks, you can get a pretty fine guitar. No need for a knockoff brand. I'm sure Epiphone (and PRS) have a guitar at that price point.   23. I can't do it. What I can try is: Elementary school: Dark Side of the Moon (Blew my mind that cash registers and clocks could be used musically)/Sgt. Peppers Jr High: Joshua Tree (Don't hate, I'm still fond of it. ;P) High School: I essentially left Pearl Jam's 10 in the CD player for my grad year. During the "Now I'm a grown up and living on my own" phase I found NIN - The Downward Spiral and Ben Harper's Welcome to the Cruel World the same summer. (I'm pretty sure Whipping Boy is the most groovingest-badassed song ever http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYMYCUVuDYg&feature=kp) From this Century, the two I'd pick would be Sweet Tea by Buddy Guy (for pure blues authority) and The Concert for George (Harrison) because of the virtuoso musical diversity. ...or B.B.King's entire catalogue... I have to stop now.
