I actually disagree with some of those changes, the second climb up shouldnt have those extra chords, the songbook(Hal Leaonard's version) I learned the song from has this(LINK).

I dont think those 3rd's belong

EDIT: Posted the right link

Double Edit supreme: I thought there was a reason that sweep seemed new, Its a major chord whereas the one I learned was the minor variant of that chord, I think the minor is the correct version.

Many nice scores on all songs :)

Thanks @@Teinashu for making a new version. Absolutely loving these new tones. I do miss the bit near the start in the old version where you had to play both rhythm and lead parts at the same time, I spent forever learning how to do that and now I don't have to anymore.  :(  I know it's more accurate, but it was giving me a scoring edge! Now I have to learn solos if I want to win this week! ;______;

*sighs wistfully and enters riff repeater*

@Gamut Thanks :)

I've watched a lot of live vids of this song the last couple of days. The way it is played live,
Marcus the rhythm guitarist plays the lead fills at that part. While Andre plays the rhythm part.
I like it this way around more though. I had great difficulty playing that part on the old version :p

Nice scores.......but aren't you in the wrong class after last weeks effort?  :P

I felt that his score was too lame ( ;) ) compared to last week winners. Unless you want to level up @@Bruce Force, we can't stop you :)

some bass scores:

Whole Lotta Love Bass

Download the Revolution Bass

Call of Ktulu Bass

I really dont like the Metallica one, in fact never liked that song.

Its boring to me and the solo is silly guitar-masturbation, i think i will pass on it

and maybe will go freebird completely, but i dont know for sure right now.

Aaaand i wouldn't stand a chance against @@then3verend and @@Nacholede on this song anyway ;)

Cheers and a happy happy birthday to you @ !

@ I'm not, but those new chords doesn't sound right at all, doesn't make sense either with fret logic or theory. In that climb the root notes are all on the E with the A serving as a supplement, why would there be 5th chords on the A if the E is the source of the root notes? Plus those thirds create a dissonance that I'm not hearing at all in the song nor have I heard in the entire album.

With Metallica being primarily a metal band, the big scale they play is a minor pentatonic and blues scales in their early days. So a major chord as a sweep doesnt make sense either, but the minor does.

You see a similar shape of that part of that section in the solo in the interlude of Master of Puppets.

Side note: Happy birthday, I know I'm kinda being a pain in the a$$ but I'll make you a cake and throw it as far as I can

thanks for all the birthday wishes :)

@@then3verend about theory, at those parts always two chords are changing: A + F (then going up chromatic)

and now tell me what 3rd is the note a to f, minor or major? Of course it's major, so a minor chord would make no sense.

Also the A5 makes sence because the E is the 5th from it, so full chords here would be Am and F (try just strum those two chords and sing/whistle the played melody, fits perfect) then try the same with E and F (souds absolutely wrong) and maybe E and Fm (worse)

Next is I hear it  :P , and I hear no powerchords there, but like it was before it was also not wrong, because if they're all powerchords they have no 3rd as you probably know. It was just a bit easier to play. And it doesn't matter what keys they usually play, maybe they didn't care much about theory and keys at this times, but I don't think so.

edit - The E in that riff is a pedal note from the A chord

you talking about sweep... in the solo are no changes though

SUPER MYSTERY EDIT 5000:

tl:dr the last version of this post was me disagreeing and giving reasons, the new version is me asking a question:

@ can you explain to me how those new chords work within the song and why they should be there?

Edited by then3verend

Many nice scores on all songs :)

@@then3verend, what you're saying sounds incoherently to me.

Do you think if there is a major chord it's no minor key? Sorry, but that's just stupid.

If the key is A minor the F major chord is just the 6th step of the key! It never switches to major key. I think you still need to learn a lot of theory.

And I didn't revise the solo cause lack of time, just what I noticed while playing (and listening)

Mixed feelings this week...

Bass - loved it. When you finally got the feel of the music - then it was only fun and inspiring:

Lead - don't care much for this song (sorry Led Zeppelin fans):

Rythm - to fast for me. For this one I only played the game - and I suspect that music were harmed during the process.

Take care out there - and Happy Birthday @frippchen !

Problems with Rocksmith registering? Don't bother - remember the wise words of Yngwie Malmsteen:

To anyone that cares, I did this

Has some changes in the solo @4:52 and @4:27

Added the harmony at 7:20

As a result of the new harmony, changed fretboard logic
Dunno how to bend single notes in a chord

Dunno if I fucked up any tone changes in the process

and Fixed that goddamn section starting at 5:23

I wont upload this version at all, leaving it up to @@bernixix to decide what to do with it

Many nice scores on all songs :)
