  1. It seems that another of my custom was selected on the championship :D I'm really glad, another user proposed it. "Cementerio Club" is the second track of the album "Artaud", which is considered by many experts the best album of the story of argentinian rock. Spinetta was by far one of the greatest (if not the greatest) musician of hispanoamerican music. Here are my scores for this beautiful slow blues:

  12. Be sure to run the CLI once by itself and read the full help message. The CLI has been fully tested and is working as expected. Bug reports are welcomed. If you can't get the CLI to work then re-read and follow these instructions. If you still can't get the CLI to work, then wait for next release of CFSM which will include a GUI for the CLI. Always make a backup copy of your CDLC files before ever running them through any CLI. The latest beta version of the toolkit includes an UPDATED CLI (Command Line Interface) DropletApp for bulk remastering of CDLC for use with Rocksmith 2014 Remastered (RS14R). Basic CLI Usage (remastered.exe) for CDLC that have been played in RS14R and the song stat has changed to 100%: 1) The 'remastered.exe' file is located inside of the toolkit root folder. NOTE: The CLI is dependent on the toolkit so it must be run from (remain) inside the toolkit root folder. 2) Double click the apps icon to start the app and read the help screen. 3) Close the app by clicking on the 'X' in upper right hand corner of the Windows command window. Now for some fun! But first, did you take time to read the CLI help message (see Step 2). 4) Drag and drop a CDLC file or a folder containing CDLC onto the application icon. (Start small with one ore two CDLC files until you get the hang of the CLI application.) 5) Go get some coffee while magic happens, unless you feel like watching the feedback. 6) The CLI creates 'REMASTERED_CLI' subfolder in 'My Documents' folder. This subfolder is used to store the 'remastered_error.log' and (.cor) and (.org) CDLC files. The log file contains the file paths and error messages for any files that could not be remastered. 7) Be sure to remove any CDLC that has file extension (.org) or (.cor) from the 'dlc' folder (this is a VERY important step) The new version of remastered.exe CLI automatically removes/cleans the CDLC source folder. 8) Test and report bugs. "I can't get it to work" is not a bug. This version of remastered.exe offers several command line switches [option]: - Added option [-org] to remastered.exe CLI to permit renamed (.org) CDLC to be repaired by new CLI. - Added option [-pre] to remastered.exe CLI to preserve Arrangement Identification (song stats) - Added option [-ren] to remastered.exe CLI to quickly rename (.org) files to (.psarc) files - Added option [-log] to remastered.exe CLI to specify a customize path for the 'remastered_errror.log' - Added option [-sil] to remastered.exe CLI to run in silent mode so Command Window will close when finished. There are five new batch files included in the toolkit root directory which may be used to access remastered.exe command line options for bulk CDLC remastering using drag/drop: remastered.exe -pre.bat -- Preserve song stats for CDLC that have never been played in RS14R. remastered.exe -org.bat -- Remasters CDLC that have already been remastered (has file extension .org) remastered.exe -org -pre.bat -- A combination of the above (only works for songs that have never been played in RS14R). remastered.exe -ren.bat -- Renames CDLC that have file extension (.org) back to (.psarc) remastered.exe.bat -- Remasters CDLC that have been played in RS14R and the song stat has changed to 100% Batch File Usage (remastered.exe [option].bat) 1) Locate the batch files inside of the toolkit root folder. 2) Select (highlight) all of the 'remastered.exe [option].bat' batch files 3) Hold down the ALT-key and drag and drop the batch file shortcuts to anywhere you'd like, e.g. the desktop. 4) Locate the CDLC files and directories that you want to remaster. 5) Now drag and drop the CDLC files and directories onto the appropriate batch file shortcut. 6) Go get some coffee while CDLC are processed. 7) Be sure to remove any CDLC that has file extension (.org) or (.cor) from the 'dlc' folder (this is a VERY important step) 8) Test and report bugs. "I can't get it to work" is not a bug. NOTE: For very large CDLC collections ... user reports that multiple copies of the remastered.exe CLI may be run at the same time to reduce the time it takes to remaster an entire CDLC collection. Just split the large CDLC collection into separate root folders and drag each root folder to a new instances of the CLI executable or batch file. EzPeeZ ... Enjoy!

  13. This song is quite good! I dont know how it passed me by but i was never into metallica that much. For some reason i get a nostalgic feeling in some parts of the song, all i can remember is a song around 2005 or something like that sounded similar to the filter parts right before the chorus. All they did is improved their own game with what they know was possible considering their own DLC standard of quality. Sadly CDLC don't have this standard and many issue arise because of this like the camera issue that is linked to the lack of section or the play count not counting properly due to the lack of DD. And the 100% bug is 100% the fault of how chord were counted during the creation of the CDLC inside the toolkit that was different to how it is done inside DLC. Those issue weren't meant to arise by Ubisoft SF. You wanna blame them, fine but please find actual fact that would back up your claim first before going all out with accusation.

  25. Great week ahead (not only because of songs  ). When Worlds Collide - THPS 2 classic! You know, back in the days before Guitar Hero, it was Tony Hawk games that had the best soundtrack and here is a song from that legendary 2nd installment in the series. Kinda fast, but doable for beginners. Future Retro - great surprise, fun electric track, with that 8-bit feel to it. When I was little there was Jean-Michel Jarre coming from speakers, and Future Retro not only sounds nice, but is very fun to play to. Train of Consequences - Megadeth and Metallica the same week! And Megadeth's song is better :o My favorite song from that band, so that explains a lot :D Bass is in Bb but I was able to tune down there with my 4-string  It's not really difficult, but my G string wouldn't accept any lower tunings :D Moth Into Flame - newest Metallica track, in my opinion much better then Hardwired, but, well, 80s are gone :( and 2008 too :P Heretics & Killers - as explained we had it selected once, but RR was not working, and we couldn't get it fixed in time. It was a while ago, I'm surprised that it took me so long to bring it back, especially since I liked that madness and always wanted to see you try it + bass has some fun moments (like a wild slap part) but overall is not that crazy.

  27. Is seems to me that the issue with the 100% mastery bug has shown a deficiency in understanding on the part of the community over the correct structure of DLC. This is an opportunity to improve the creation tools and make future CDLC better than in the past. Most existing CDLC still works in that it can be played. Most of them actualy work pretty well, only a few are broken and the 100% bug isn't a show stopper for most people. And there is a pretty decent fix for that now if you can be bothered. I would have lost interest in RS long ago if not for this community. I think you all rock and I'd like to thank all the programmers and charters who make this possible. You are as gods who stalk the earth. Full disclosure. I play exclusively BASS and haven't experienced the 100% bug personally. The only issue I have is the inability to riff repeat songs without sections and that is down to a change in the new riff repeater affecting less well made CDLC. I'd still rather have the imperfect CDLC than it not be there. At least if it exists it might get fixed or I might even take the time to learn to do it myself if I care enough about a particular song. Anyone can do this with a bit of effort so I don't understand the moaning and complaining. The only real issue left from the REMASTERED update is that it has shown up the deficiencies of some CDLC. The tools have been updated to allow most of these problems to be fixed almost automatically and the remaining issues can be fixed by re-authoring the CDLC. We should celebrate these guys and the RS creators for allowing the CDLC community to exist. I'm sure they could make life very awkward for us if they really wanted to so kudos to them for tolerating us.

  30. Ive tried to learn guitar for 20 years, without much luck. I could fret chords and play a few progressions but nothing to really force myself to push. Last October I bought Rocksmith and discovered Customsforge, in the last year my playing has progressed well beyond the last 20 years. Today Ive logged over 350 hours in Rocksmith. I don't just play songs, I also play the technique challenges and the guitarcade games. Since the update RS seems to have a slight lag issue displaywise as songs I had 90% or higher playing I seem to be missing notes. Although what I hear is me hitting notes in time with the tune. Stick with it and keep it fun, you will get more from it. If I look back over my life and the countless hours I spent playing games, rs is the only one that devoting time to it produces something tangible.

  33. Playing along doesn't have to be at 100% difficulty, nor does it has to mean a 100% accuracy at the end. And everyone has a moment where they feel like they don't really learn anything. It's fine! Don't let it bother you, just go do something else and come back later when you feel like it. You might more easily see how much you improved while playing a song you didn't play for some times than while playing the same ones over and over. Learning is not something linear, we all have our ups and downs depending on many criteria, but the more you do the more the brain adjust itself to be more efficient, sometimes that means breaking some habits to allow for something new to come in and it's a long damn hard road. As long as you keep training regularly, there's no reason that you aren't progressing, you might just not see it. Also on the topic of chords, some can be a pain to get at first sight especially when they requires a position you aren't used to but you don't have to practice them directly to learn it. Even learning a single note run might improve how your finger stretch and relate to each other which will also be helpful for chord. And as a last word : FUN! you need to have fun, your brain will more easily remember something that was fun!

  34. Please discuss Rocksmith Remastered here. FAQ: Q: My CDLC doesn't work! A: For windows: Please use the new .dll | Mac: Please use the Patch. You can get both here For further help regarding customs not playing see : CDLC not working - General Rocksmith - CustomsForge Q: I'm getting 100% on all the CDLC songs I play A: Thanks to @@cozy1 and @@Lovroman you can now update all your collection in the 1.2.6.4 beta version of CFSM that can be found here : http://ignition.customsforge.com/cfsm Q: I'm getting camera issue on some CDLC, why? A: The remaster update slightly changed how the camera is handle in game so CDLC that don't have section have now different camera issue than before that are more problematic now. Note that not having section also means that Riff Repeater (RR) isn't available in game and also means that the play count won't be incremented every time the song is played. If you find such CDLC, alert the author of the problem and report the CDLC to us via the appropriate report button. Q: The play count isn't getting updated when i play CDLC, why? A: The remaster update slightly changed how it counts the number of time someone play a song which seems be related to DD instead of only section as it was before the remaster. So any CDLC without DD won't have is play count properly working. Q: I'm getting crashes when on the Learn A Song page of some CDLC? A: The remaster update changed how bonus and alternate arrangement are visible which also have a side effect of provoking random crashes when looking at songs that have too much (more than 5) arrangement in the Learn A Song area of the game. If you find such CDLC, alert the author of the problem and report the CDLC to us via the appropriate report button. Q: I'm getting an error when launching the Rocksmith Remastered A: Please verify your integrity via Steam. We do not support pirated copies and we will ban you if caught with a copy. Make sure to have Cherub Rock DLC to be able to use CDLC. Q: Is Ubisoft trying to ruin CDLC? A: No. When they updated the game, the executable file changed which is why the dll needs to be updated, it's a side effect of software programming not a voluntary maneuver to break up things. Other issue arise by the discrepancies between how CDLC and ODLC are made, they aren't 100% similar inside and some of those differences can be put to light when the game changes how it react to some information. This is not ubisoft's fault as they never provided CDLC or mod support in the first place and when the main code changes, is it our duty to fix our mods to make the CDLC work again.

  35. Is there a way to tell if it's working? I dragged a file on to the box. It came up with the path and the flashing curser is flashing next to the path. It's been there for several minutes on that one song. It doesn't look to be working at all for me. Windows 10 pro. I can let it sit on a song for more than an hour and nothing happens. If I run in admin more it never adds the path to the song. Fixed: Making a shortcut to the desktop fixed the issue.

  38. @Billkwando "OK I'm a little confused now. All of my songs were generated by toolkit at some point, so shouldn't they already be validated?" SongInfo validation is a relatively new feature added to toolkit. Old versions of toolkit did not do complete SongInfo validation. To force toolkit to validate an existing old CDLC you will need to: 1) Use "CDLC Creator" tab, "Import Package" 2) Click on and then off of each field in SongInfo (this will force validation). If SongInfo is invalid it will be changed by CDLC Creator. 3) Change the version number. 4) Click Generate and assign new Arrangement Identification when asked.

  39. Funnily enough, the fix fixed the 100% error on my (unreleased yet, due to this reason) latest update in Prince's Alphabet St. This is the one that was having the 100% issue weeks before Remastered was even released. About the periods thing, can't I just generate the song the regular way, instead of using the CLI? This is CDLC I made after all. I have R.E.M. songs too. If folks are mass fixing, chances are they're not going to remember every song that has an apostrophe in it or whatever (Jessie's Girl?) so they're probably gonna be stumbling upon borked CDLC for some time. I'm guessing the special characters thing should be added to the FAQ unless we're not sure that's the problem. If you are sure, at least I guessed right and saved you a little bit of digging. ;) Edit: If there's no way of making the CLI fix songs with periods in the fields, could you make it generate a list of which files were skipped at least? Edit 2: I just realized this is gonna by a huge pain in the ass for me. The majority of my songs are by a group named.....drum roll...... L'Arc~en~Ciel! 133

  41. That's basically the right idea. Between the two bend tech notes the bend will progress linearly, so if you have just have 0--------2-------0 both the bend and the release will be gradual, which may not be quite what you want. Something like 0--0--2--------2--0 would be a short hold of the initial note, a relatively quick bend up a step which is then held a while, then a relatively quick release of the bend. You can imagine other configurations that should be able to get you what you need. Also, I'll say that you can often see bends in EoF using spectrogram view (see for example this post). In the image you can see how I aligned the tech notes to match the relatively gradual bend and quicker release.

  42. @@Biermeister 44 "Added two more by dragging psarc files onto the remastered.exe icon, actually to a shortcut on my desktop." If I could give awards for great tips I would give you two. I forgot that the CLI drag and drop feature would still function through a shortcut. The shortcut can be place anywhere. How cool is that! Thanks for sharing. :plus1:

  43. I disagree on a few points here. It might have been accidental that the 100% glitch on CDLC occurred, but based on this only it is not possible to say that they are not trying to ruin CDLC. Since they don`t give support to CDLC and modding it`s actually indicating the intention to break it. Why does Songs2See provides a software to help you chart the tab to a music so you can use in the game but Ubisoft doesn`t? Why are they so afraid of EMI and Warner`s lawyers? Why don`t they stick with the teaching instead of gaming and just disclaim it all for educative purposes?

  46. Who said Rocksmith is all you need to be able to become a guitar player. Ok, right, publicity! Who cares about publicity ? RS is just another way to learn, a damn effective way, specially in keeping you motivated. But it has a giant flaw : It accepts bad techniques, because it cannot see them. Bad technique is what slows down progression. Don't avoid exercices, youtube and face2face teachers. And why not attend are real guitar school, where the teacher gives you a deadline to master a special technique. And then play with a band, or in a duo, it's like running a race, it gives that little extra in concentration, attention. Progression is being able to see things happening slower than they are, and being able to react. Ever got that feeling, when you run to the finish line and you remember it like in slow motion? So much information and thoughts registered in a couple of seconds. The beginner is only focused on the next note, and one of his fingers. Progression is done by anticipation, not actually looking the next note, but the next couple, the next half a dozen of notes. And the fingers know by themselves what to do : it's called automation. My progression is constant, but very slow. I have to be patient. I have about 50 songs I play regularly, most of them Buckethead's. I note the number of errors at a speed (I normally start at 80%) When I replay a song 1-2 Month later, after the first or 2nd try, I always reduce my number of errors. So by daily playing, there is a progression. Though, I'll be probably 120years old before I can play like Buckethead. My advice : always keep an eye on a clean technique! This requires memorizing a couple of riffs from songs you play and playing them away from RS focusing on clean sounding strings and correct hand and finger positions.
