  2. Updates on my week so far. Beatles: http://s14.postimg.org/yu36f1txt/beatles_she_loves_you_lead.png I don't play enough of these types of songs, my chord playing has gone downhill. Took a good few goes to get this down. http://s7.postimg.org/hfikysx6j/beatles_she_loves_you_bass.png Iron Maiden: Working on getting the descending legato lick up to speed, everything else is done. Dream Theatre: Bass is finished, unfortunately the low tuning leaves my strings with all the tension of wet noodles which leads to lots of note recognition issues. I had a run earlier where I hit every note but finished with 98.75%. It is what it is, nothing I can do about it. Guitar wise I've done most of the rhythm parts and I'll be starting on the solo tomorrow.

  4. So after getting two more 99.9%s tonight, the last one being the most frustrating because I cracked under pressure and failed on one of the last notes of the song, I went off, had another beer, and played some other songs. Of course, I had to have one more go before hanging up my bass for the night, though: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B49Qq-EFnmrKZ0g3V21pZ0JQTkU/view?usp=sharing I am slightly disappointed that despite the extra beer, I still panicked a bit at the end and didn't hit the notes exactly when I wanted to, but 100% is 100%, and it's the first time I've done it in Advanced. :)

Still haven't played since Sunday! :( kids are off, working weird shifts, crocheting a frog for my #1 son that turned into "the thing that should not be" (it's quite hilarious, my son however will be deeply disturbed by the monstrosity I created). I am hoping I can get to play DT tomorrow, it's been painful not being able to practice :( and i miss you guys' :(

  9. I put a bi of RR time into Running Free on bass. I'm already up to 98%, but I admit that my swing eighths are a little uneven. I should work on keeping an even swing tempo some more regardless of the score.

  10. The one with the really long name on bass = 100% It looks like it only took 3 tries, but I spent a lot of time in RR at 90% to 95% speed.

  15. In this song you have a very low tuning, is it drop C? In your video's first run are many misses on that one note A1, also it sounds out of tune there: the pressure of your index is way to strong. On second run are no misses, also it sounds in tune, using a light pressure there, so what's the problem? For low tunings you need to play heavy gauge strings to avoid any going out of tune effect by pressing the string too hard and/or strumming too hard. So the problem is not caused by the brand, more the gauge of your strings. Generally you finger should always placed as close as possible to the next fret rod, not in the middle or the bottom of a fret. This way you need less pressure and the notes are sounding clear.

  18. http://i.imgur.com/bZcvQBB.jpg Less than 5% until 90 on this. I'm realising lately that, whenever I accidentally score 99% on Advanced one of these weeks and get to MC, I might be able to keep decent pace against the pros if I just get less LAZY. :unamused: I'm actually so lazy about practising things (especially solos ). I've played it 3 times now; you'd think I would have stopped at some point to figure out those chorus arpeggios. But nah! I just barely chug through them every time, and think "this is fine since I 100% the other half of the chorus". So lazy!!

  19. Hello everyone. I hope his darling is dead now! Because I can't play the easy song. Again! I can't find the golden mean on the 2nd fret of 6th string! And I guess on the 5th string too. I can push the string till the end or I can just press it a little. And all the time I get that annoying "Streak broken", "Streak broken", "Streak broken". Broken and broken again and again! http://i.imgur.com/SfE3cQ9.jpg

  29. This problem seems to be caused by having Rock Band export enabled, because in other rhythm games, pro bass tracks aren't capable of having any number of strings other than 4. When you load the project, one of the related files is read and overrides the string count for the bass track. I'm going to have to think about whether to keep this logic, but in the mean time, the easiest solution would be to disable "Save FoF/GH/Phase Shift files" preference and then delete the song.ini file in the project folder.

  32. Re: Supersonic Live Ok - I had to do a lot of work to get the notes into the correct measures b/c the import into EOF was not great. The Solo and Improv sections took the most time due to the amount of notes and the timing seemed off. But, I think I have the lead in pretty good shape. The last few measures are dicey b/c the BPM seems to change a good amount. I am debating whether to take it out or not. Can anyone test out this cdlc and provide feedback on timing, sound quality, etc..... Thanks @@albatross213

  34. @@albatross213 Thanks - I will play it shortly and see how it plays. The other issue I face is that the song was tabbed for the first night of a concert but the dvd I have is for the second night. Ripping an mp3 from youtube for the first night sounds awful so I decided to pick the lesser of 2 evils and record the audio from the dvd. Most of what is played is the same but there are some small differences. Im hoping the improv is the same but it was hard to tell. I will know more once I test it out.

  35. @@jhespada - I just synced it to the bass and drums, resulting in this EoF file. It's possible that the guitar is much more free form, but at that point it probably just makes more sense to note sync it rather than to try to beat sync to it.

  36. Hey Guys - Hoping somebody can help me out here - I am trying to sync up a live version of the song Supersonic by Oasis. The end gets a bit messy b/c the lead guitarist goes a bit improv and I am having a difficult time syncing at that point. 38. Hey, Terry, Just played Green River. Tones, volumes, and sync all look good. I always struggle with CCR songs. He uses a lot of chords on the little strings and I end up getting lost a lot, but that's common with my playing. I agree on Gloria. Even though it's basic chords, you've got to get through them really quickly, plus there's two open strums in the middle of those chords making it even harder. I started out at 50% speed and increased from there, but still was sloppy as hell. Working on my 3rd version of Only You Can Rock Me by UFO. Finally got proper tabbing for lead and rhythm, now have to put a lot of work into bass line.

  39. @ - I fixed a bunch (maybe all?) of the things you mentioned in my version. I also recently (like a few minutes ago) fixed the time signatures (don't import) and added in the harmonics that were missing (from the import?). At this point I think I've done just about everything I can do in terms of polishing. If you notice anything else off, the notes.eof and guitar.ogg files are in the folder so you can add whatever modifications you want on top of mine.

  40. The Dream Theater cdlc looks good to me except a few things, like @@albatross213 mentioned, the solo needs definitely cut into at least 4 or more sections. Noone will learn it decent in only one long section. @@Nacholede Please if you redo the custom, arrange the solo into practicable sections. Best is always to make a section after every played prase which makes sense.... Then I noticed any unpitched slides sometimes that shouldn't be that way, don't know which exacliy at the moment. And another thing is, like also already said, also by albatross, the G#maj7 chord 466044, it sounds just crap with the open G string (and is no pleasure to grip). You can build a G#minor chord of it just 466444

  41. for Running Free Rhythm it is better to play the harmony part(s) like this instead on one string moving down all 3 notes http://up.picr.de/24609511jx.png also the part later is more easy like this http://up.picr.de/24609537mw.png edit- sorry, but I think those two powerchords are D5 E5, not A5 B5, so one string up. I made this today from memory. Yesterday after playing I was too tired...
