Good songs this week, Baesd on first play I'd also switch Pink and Helmet on the bass paths. Pink uses all 4 strings and has trickier patterns. Helmet is almost entirely on the E string with only one part that's a little tricky near the end. I'm moving this week so not sure how many more scores I'll have, maybe a few. I never expected that someone will call 24 (in October) years old kid a grandpa :lol: Ok, maximum song time idea ain't that bad. But I would stick to ~8'30'' (Orion, Master of Puppets). I can live without Call of Ktulu :P This week is quite not in my taste, and then it's not in my skill with DT, so we all are going through some bad weeks. And I played Pink quite few tries :wacko: If there was rating for Nina, it could be added by me, to place it somewhere in SSL, though I'm doing so rarely, I'm trying to play song before.

@@Rodman "no exceptions!"" 8 min and more will moved to extra list. We can allow special longer songs for anniversaries (and got it from extra list), as 5-th a song for those who want (and it will not have any awards) , but not for main challenge.

Yeah 8 min max +1 BUT we may further allow special longer songs for anyversaries - i mean it was great having octavarium, and a longer song eventually every 25th week wont hurt anybody - not playing not losing DHM status o.c. - lets keep the CS special! I am grabbing a beer for sober now ;)

I`m totally agree with opinion by @, should be a strict rule "Not allowed a songs for Week Challenge longer then 8 min, no exceptions!"

I have a huge burn blister on my fretting thumb from an unfortunate Easter party cooking accident. I was transporting a homemade deep dish pizza with insufficient hand protection, and I got caught in the position of dropping a 4 pound scorching hot pizza on the dog, or blistering my thumb. The thumb lost.

Thought about it, and this week I definitly play no MC, no guitar and no bass. I play every week everything what's been chosen for all MC paths, but for no more longer. I'm gonna loose my trophys then, I know, but don't wanna waste too much time with practicing stuff I don't like. I'm also waiting every week for songs I added in the list or just songs that are fun for me to play, so I'm a bit dissapointed if one is finaly chosen and in my Class, so that I can have really fun this week to play and rise up good scores there, and then it gonna be changed with something absolute disliked like DT. I think we need more limitations for songs to get picked. No songs that are longer than 10 minutes. For this week I'm out, next week also I think.

I'm OK with a max time limit, but I think 9-10 minutes would be my preference. Largely because I definitely also want to see Orion (my favorite song) in the CS sometime... :D I think I'm still going to sit this week out though. Dream Theater is on my "no thank you" list just as much as Fishbone... :P

Some of the greatest songs ever are long. LSD fueled trips into hyperspace over radio edit any day :)

Don't forget Maiden songs like Rime Of The Ancient Mariner or When The Wild Wind Blows...those songs are EPIC, long but epic I think the lenght is not going to be a problem, for now i'm taking a break from DT songs on MC, i will give you a Megadeth challenge :D

Similar to Rodman: Guitar thru ABY splitter to PC & Fender Mustang amp PC sound (guitar sound set to 0) through Logitech 2.1 speakers. IMO, Rocksmith masks your guitar sound too much. Playing through an amp really highlights where you need to improve (everywhere in my case :lol: )

Pc (guitar sound muted) -> guitar amp line in and Guitar --> ABY Splitter to amp and pc. So real (horrible ;) ) guitar sound with 0 lag mixed with RS backing in amp. When the kids are sleepin headphones from amp. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Depends on which kind of music you like, but some good bands for beginners are The Black Keys and The Cars. Black Keys don't use many chords, mainly fairly simple riffs. The Cars use all power chords and lots of palm mutes, but not too difficult. UFO songs aren't too hard, cool riffs and lots of power chords. I suggest using riff repeater and slowing down the track to match your playing speed rather than using dynamic difficulty. Even if you have to slow the track down to a crawl, it's better than DD. With DD, you don't see the chord progression and how all the notes fit together at speed. Just my opinion.

@@Captain Kitty Whiskers When i get random misses on the low D on drop d tunings it is usually because i press the string to hard. You can check the ingame tuner for that. (press esc and look in the lower left corner when you fret the notes). When I release a new hotfix, all you have to do is replace the files from the above zip file with the ones from the hotfix. i know i'm older than most on this site but please tell me i'm not senile already. when i got the list of songs saturday i would swear that bass went from easiest to hardest: Pink, Helmet, Protest, Fishbone. usually once i get the list i don't check back until i'm ready to post a score. is this something i should be doing more frequently, or is there a certain day that things are pretty well set?

Tuning is not a problem, it's not happening all the time that we have low tunings in the same class, so I wouldn't demonize it. It's not fun when you can't play a song because of tuning, but that's something we have to live with. I'm trying to not select low tunings back-to-back. It's definitely better if you select E or drop D, also for chances to song be selected, but I think you should be able to select whatever song you want*. *At least not below C (guitar) and B (bass) for sake of my guitar :P
