  1. Hi, folks. I'll be using this thread to maintain the latest versions of EOF in one place. To start, download and extract EOF 1.8RC12: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ih70h6p67iy77ka/eof1.8RC12.zip You can keep that zip file handy to avoid downloading it more than once. When I release a new hotfix, all you have to do is replace the files from the above zip file with the ones from the hotfix. The latest hotfix (9-26-2020) is here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/6xzg32k4a9gqwxs/eof_hotfix_%289-26-2020_4%29.zip/file *If you use a non QWERTY US English keyboard layout, and keyboard controls/shortcuts aren't working for you, please make a post describing what keyboard shortcuts aren't working, and what the Info panel says the "CODE" and "ASCII" values are after you use each of the keyboard controls in question. I can make Mac releases and will try to post one with each Windows release, but my ability to do so is sometimes limited. If I don't get around to releasing a Mac build you want, just remind me to do so. The latest Mac build (9-26-2020) is here: http://ignition.customsforge.com/eof/download/487 Unless you have oggenc and LAME installed (these don't come with the Mac build for licensing reasons), you won't be able to have EOF automatically convert from MP3 to OGG when you create a new chart. If you have trouble getting those set up on your system, here is a package that should get them installed and usable by EOF: http://www.t3-i.com/apps/eof/downloads/eof_utilities.pkg Please provide any and all feedback, including bugs and feature requests. If possible, also please review the included documentation (manual, tutorials) and let me know if you find any room for improvement there. Eventually I plan to add a Rocksmith authoring section to the pro guitar tutorial, but the community's knowledge of the Rocksmith songs' makeup changes pretty quickly so it's hard to know when particular features are considered fully known. For any features that ARE fully known (like anchors), please feel free to remind me if they aren't incorporated into EOF yet, in case I missed any information being passed around on this forum or the Google group. Note: If you are reporting a bug, please specify which hotfix (date) you're using. I release hotfixes on a somewhat random schedule, sometimes more than once per day, so the issue being reported may have been fixed in a release you haven't tried yet.

  2. So first of all, sorry for my bad english. I'm an austrian guy, but I'm sure you'll understand what i say. I play guitar for over 12 years, but after learning the basic "campfire" chords, and all the powerchords i was stuck. I usually played for 1 hour/day/week because I had much shit to do. Since i got Rocksmith, I usually play for at least 2-? hours a day, which is incredible.I also started to learn scales and theory, because i love listening to/making music. I was browsing SA for a time now, but I'm not the writing guy, because of my english skills. So basically, I just wanted to thank all you guys/girls that provide me with new songs!!! Also a big thanks to the people that run the site! You guys don't know, how much you've helped me!!! Party hard and rock on!

  3. No, I think this will only cool people's enthusiasm for creating customs. The ratings system (and the whining about it) is part of what brought Smithys down, after all. I'm not able to make my own customs -- time, ability, talent -- so I'm pretty grateful that other people can, and are taking the time to do this for the rest of us. I agree that a lot of the customs I've tested aren't all that great. In fact a lot of them are just unplayable -- partly because I'm so used to the official songs, which of course are professionally charted. So the difference is too jarring. But you know what? I didn't pay for any of the CDLCs and therefore can't complain about them. I've argued for the need to consider CDLCs as part of a vast Open Source project -- once a CDLC has been posted, there should be a process allowing interested people to continue to refine them. It's like a lot of fields -- take books, for example. The writer creates the initial manuscript, but there are a lot of people involved in cleaning it up and getting it ready for publication before it finally becomes a book.

  4. Well, well let me say what i have to say about it. What i see here is some "problems" in the communication at all. 1. We have some person who moaning about other person, because of there "bad" CDLC. 2. We got some person who are only think about " YEah i download it, thats it" 3. We got some request guys who don't care about the other 4. We got a lot of talented guys for everything (charting and so on) 5. We got charters who are give the whole thing a try (me included) 6. we got a lot of very helpfull person here But there is one thing we don't have yet. A community that works together. Look at the points i wrote down. What do u see? Most of the person here work for themself. As u see i totally agree with the idea, that we should work as a team some guys works for the quick first charting, other fore the fine-tuning and so on. If we could work like that, we got a lot of good cdlc and the crying about possible bad cdlc would stop. Of course this would be a lot of work, to creat a base team. But i also see the point that the fun may get lost, if we do it that way. But what do we want? CDLC that works to share it with the community or do we want CDLC for our own? If we want it for our own way we share then here? i don't wanna attack anybody with those words. it's only my oppinion about the situation. Either we work together as a community or even not. But we can't do it in 2 or 3 weeks and not everyone by his own. Maybe we should open a Topic in the Workshop section, everyone who wanna help out the community can post there. If someone wanna make the quick charts or just the fine tuning, because he can do it good, than it is good and he can post there. Also we should give feedback for the songs we downloaded, because without them we can't make good cdlc everytime. I give normally everytime a feedback when i download a cdlc. And that is all i got to say. Think about it. Greating from the friendly angry german

  5. I definitely consider this all collaborative. After all - the tab I used, for the most part, is not my own. The cover art and youtube videos I'm linking aren't mine. I didn't write any of the software that makes any of this possible. I don't own the website or the hosting services. The only thing I can claim ownership over is the time and work I put into it, and I like doing it so who cares?

  6. Die in a fire? Hmm. I don't make customs --yet -- because I work two jobs, have a wife and two kids, and need time to play guitar. I'm hoping to have a bit of a break in my workload in a couple of months, at which time I may well give it a shot, since I do enjoy playing with software. But I'm usually into the creative parts, not much of a technician. I do try to contribute in other ways, as small as they may be. As for opening other people's customs and working on them: I think there should be a section here in Customsforge where customs builders who are open to working as a team can post their CDLCs. By doing this they can agree to relinquishing authorship, or at least sharing it. Perhaps they can call themselves "Team Leader" or something like that.

  11. Hi all, Here's a small collection of tools to deal with Rocksmith songs: https://github.com/x0l/rs-utils Mostly intended for OSX users (command line batch convert), it can also be useful for others (make WEMs without launching Wwise). I'm a bit lazy at the moment, but if I (or anyone else) find the time, I'll add JSON and aggregate graph generation. Mostly python and shell code, easy to understand/port/improve. Cheers,

  12. Hello everyone! I wanted to say thanks to everyone who's supported us so far. First off I wanted to explain what your donations was used for. The negatives are what I've purchased. The websites domain for $15 and the IP.Board & IP.Download system for $225 I have $142.93 USD Left in paypal and I plan to let all users know where their money went. I will not pocket any of this money as it will be used for this website only. Edit: I've moved the transactions list to Google Spreadsheet. Please view it here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zfCUmm0Wj8V1KW_Xrh8JWhV1Sio7H7F-OHeY4E09NAA/edit?usp=sharing Thank you SO much to everyone. Okay now, for the future of the website I have a few things in motion. 1) We will most likely use http://rscdlc.com/ for our DLC system. We will modify it to make it better. 2) We will use IP.Downloads for our file system. You can do EVERYTHING you dreamed it. Some of the features: - It counts every download - Searchable fields (Title, Artist, etc) - NOTIFICATIONS for file updates. This is a huge update I'm looking forward to. No longer have to deal with outdated CDLC. - Report broken file downloads to the CDLC creator & More! 3) We are actively working with PHP developers to upgrade to our new CDLC system. 4) We are looking into hiring a Skin designer to design a professional dark-themed type skin. (Possibly a white one too). Please note this will take some time but I'm hoping to get all of this in motion within the week. I'd like to have everything up and running soon so we can have an awesome community with awesome CDLC. I also want to give thanks for my wife, Ally who has been here since the morning helping me out with everything. I'm looking forward to working with everyone to create the ultimate CDLC website.

  14. To get it close you can use Ultrastar Creator to find the BPM. Divide the result by 2 and change the BPM in program. Then you can tweak it from there and move the beat markers. I'm still learning too and have had many times where I've been super pissed but don't give up. -k

  17. If song that need things fixing are to be put into the workshop then you will have no feedback at all, I haven't even open the workshop forum and all you get in the workshop is 'thanks' and 'request this' so no my customs will go into the CDLC area and people can tell me what's wrong that's how it works that's how it should stay.

  22. You are entirely correct. We already have WAY more than we know what to do with and we don't want this to turn into a situation where accusations happen and fingers get pointed. Attitude - Maybe your gaming clan site kept needing that money and you were in need of a steady stream of it - we aren't. We only ask for what we absolutely need and nothing more.

  23. I think he is trying to be open where the funds go. If all things are paid up he don't need anymore donations. Once those funds get low he will open the donations back up. He don't want any drama. This is not a for profit website. It is for the love of music and Rocksmith This is what happened to you clan site and you can see where that went. Not trying to be a dick but this is the way I understand it. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will chastise me . :-P.

  24. Im of the idea that if its not at least a full arrangement+tone+lyrics 100% it should stay at the "Workshop" area which i treat as a WIP zone, anything goes there but when hitting the submitted form and uploading to the customs DB then it should at least, as ive said, have 1 fully tested arrangement, can be rythm, lead or bass either way as long as its one fully tested (at least by the charter and a friend, doesnt has to be a official test something like "hey man, what do you think?" "its good, the tone was ok and the tabs were ok too")+ 1 ok tone (as long as its not horrible, as a sense of the effects used in the song, even if its not the spot on settings of the distortion/flanger/delay/etc, at least something resembling)+ lyrics. I wish your idea comes true but it will take a lot of work, effort and dedication and i can already tell it will make some people feel like this is a job and for some it seems that charting already has that effect so, i would suggest to have a set of friends who are willing to give you some minutes of their time a couple of days a week (if you are a constant charter) and asking them in chat, shouldnt take a lot this way it also promotes some charters being more social which in communities like this is always good. Good luck.

  28. The newer versions of the toolkit do add the v1/v2 on the end of a file name by default. If you're finding customs that don't include that, then they either pre-date that version of the toolkit or the person making them isn't filling out the "version" field.

  29. I started to play games at the age of 4. My first console was Pegasus (the European clone of NES or Famicom) and my favorite game on this console was The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (1992) and I really recommend it to you (an emulator, a ROM and there you go). Sometimes I re-play it, because it was a great game for me and still it brings me fun. There we're also a lot of classics like Contra, Contra Force, Tiny Toon Adventures which we're also nice. Then PSX ruled my life. Every Crash game that came out (there we're 5 games if I remember correctly). I achieved over 90% completion on almost every one of them, except on the third one - Warped in which I achieved 100%. Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone was also a nice adventure. Those we're the times, when games based on movies we're done nicely. The Resident Evil trilogy, Tekken 3, Ace Combat trilogy, Gex trilogy - let the memories be with you. PSX was the platform on which "THIS" game came out. The title was Metal Gear Solid. It was one of the best experiences on games that I had in my life. It is a shame that I didn't complete it. There are still some classics that I didn't play like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, which I will play on my PSP later. Then my father bought a PC (it was 2002) - I didn't have a solid, stable and fast Internet connection until 2010. My friends and the rest of the family we're bringing me games. All the GTA games from the "III Era" I played for fun. I didn't care about the story or objectives, I was using cheats and doing free roam :D . The best games of my early years on PC I can recall are: the NFS franchise (starting from Hot Pursuit 2), Colin McRae Rally 2.0, Sonic franchise and a lot of freeware games like Happyland Adventures. Then I bought myself a PS2, which now has laser problems, but I will buy a new one and everything will be ok. With this platform I will have the best memories ever. Metal Gear Solid 3 (Subsistence) - one of the best games I've ever played. The whole Sly franchise, Shadow of the Colossus (didn't complete it, because of the laser problems), God of War II, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011, Def Jam: Fight for NY, Ratchet & Clank 2, Resident Evil 4 (also one of the best games I've ever played), Ace Combat 4, 5 and Zero, Medal of Honor: European Assault (still playing it with a friend on split-screen), SSX 3 (OMG, this one's also a masterpiece), Tony Hawk franchise (ProSkater 4 is my favorite), Beyond Good & Evil, Call of Duty 3 (this one's the best from the WWII era of CoD for me), Red Dead Revolver - these are my favorites that I remember. If you have something to recommend then tell me.Then PSP came in. Sid Meier's Pirates!, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (one of the best games I've ever played - 150 hours), LocoRoco franchise, Patapon 1 & 2 (have problems with the final boss in 2), God of War franchise, The 3rd Birthday, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (actually left it, played it 18 hours and didn't make a progress, but still it's a solid game for me harder than Dark Souls), Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact, Ace Combat X, GTA: Liberty City Stories, Worms: Open Warfare 2, Tetris ( :D ), shift EXTENDED, Gun Showdown - my PSP favorites. My favorite games for PC by years:2004 - NFS: Underground 2 (my favorite NFS), Scrapland, Tony Hawk's Underground 2 (I completed this game on three different platforms - PC, PS2 and PSP), 18 Wheels of Steel: Across America, Neighbours form Hell 22005 - GTA: San Andreas (my favorite GTA), Call of Duty 2, NFS: Most Wanted, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (This game is so good that I will play it again in nearby future), Battlefield 2 (a lot of memories), Counter-Strike: Source, Psychonauts, Worms 4: Total Mayhem 2006 - LEGO Star Wars II, NFS: Carbon, Rayman: Raving Rabbids2007 - World in Conflict (my favorite RTS), CoD 4 and Crysis2008 - Assassin's Creed, Fallout 3 (played it after New Vegas, I still have to do a lot of things on this Wastelands), Far Cry 2 (IMO better than FC3) and maybe GTA IV (but SA is better), World of Goo (Hah, this one gave a lot of fun), Audiosurf, GRID (That's one hell of a racing game), Pure (ATV rulez!)2009 - Assassin's Creed II, Batman Arkham Asylum, CoD: MW2, L4D2 (This one will never die...or maybe if Valve will learn to count to three), DiRT 2 (my favorite off-road racing game), Burnout Paradise (my favorite open-world arcade-style racing game), CoJ: Bound in Blood (great memories with that one, especially that the game was made by polish Techland), Street Fighter IV (a fighting game that came out on PC after some long time), Section 8, Crayon Physics Deluxe, Plants vs. Zombies, World in Conflict: Soviet Assault (a small, but interesting expansion), Braid (a beautiful game with an interesting ending)2010 - Sid Meier's Civilization V (my favorite turn-based strategy game), Splinter Cell: Conviction, Fallout: New Vegas (one of the best games in my life...), Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (DAT Rome), CoD: Black Ops, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Best BF game - still playing it), Bejeweled 3 (a simple game, but fun), Super Meat Boy2011 - TES V: Skyrim (Words won't describe this game, this game describes itself), The Witcher 2 (tie with Skyrim), Deus Ex: HR, Batman: Arkham City (one of the best action-adventure games ever for me), Driver: San Francisco ( the best story in the racing games), LEGO Star Wars III (this one I was playing with my younger brother), The Walking Dead from Telltale (I still hate this episode formula), Portal 2, Bulletstorm, Rayman Origins (this one was fun) 2012 - Dishonored, Far Cry 3 (this one is a good game, but it never gave me such fun as FC2 did), Hitman: Absolution, Max Payne 3 (a great game, but I hate it's linearity), Sleeping Dogs, Borderlands 2 (Oh, memories...), Torchlight II (actually playing it with friends), Dark Souls (I didn't complete it, I'm in the Sen's Fortress), Spec Ops: The Line, Transformers: Fall od Cybertron (one of the best TPS games ever), CS: GO (the best CS for me), Street Fighter X Tekken, XCOM - Enemy Unknown (this one also left some memories), Castle Crashers. Now to the current games. Dust: An Elysian Tail and FEZ are masterpieces that I won't forget for sure. Skullgirls is a nice game. Trails Evolution: Gold Edition was also a nice experience. Also a lot of conversions from other platforms came out like Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (this one gives me more fun than any game of the God of War franchise), Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (as a fan of the MGS franchise I find this game good), Mortal Kombat (HELL YEAH!). Also don't forget that Rocksmith 2014 came out. At the moment I'm playing Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and it's the best action-adventure game I've ever played. Really. The story, character, audio (What should we do with drunken sailor...), Caribbeans, hunting, sailing...I wish I could have Sid Meier's Pirates game in TPP, 3D and everything...and Ubisoft served it. Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a great game. It's as good a Chaos Theory for me. BioShock Infinite - I didn't really like the game. Story was the only thing why I played it. Call of Juarez: Gunslinger - the game that describes what a "shooter" is. Outlast - The hide'n'seek formula was boring for me, so I left the game. Tomb Raider was a short and not so interesting experience for me. Just a game to kill some time.I'm still waiting for the PS3 price to become lower...there are so many games like Red Dead Redemption, GTA V or Metal Gear Solid IV that I jus have to play. I still have to play franchises like Gothic, Mass Effect, BioShock, Prince of Persia, Metro, Final Fantasy or Silent Hill.

  31. Hello everyone,I wanted to keep everyone in the loop of what's currently happening. 1. We have a custom skin being worked on. Right now the order has been processed, we're just waiting on receiving it. 2. We've purchased a new chat system that can hold up to 50 users. This will take over the shoutbox. Unfortunately it doesn't look as nice as the shoutbox, but we will mod it to make it look better (if possible) 3. We're working with RSCDLC.com. He will begin development on the new search system that will be hosted here soon. Our search system will be awesome and hosted at search.customsforge.com 4. We're also working on modifying the download system. I've contacted a few PHP developers and have created a team to help tackle any issues we face. (Still looking for additional programmers for PHP/HTML/CSS & MySQL. PM me for details) All of your donations are helping, as you're aware I've kept an open policy and you can view everything here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zfCUmm0Wj8V1KW_Xrh8JWhV1Sio7H7F-OHeY4E09NAA/edit#gid=0 This may take some time to develop, but everything is in progress. Please go ahead and post in the Temp CDLC area.Unfortunately when we move to the new system, we won't be able to move your posts, so if you want to hold back that's totally up to you.Thank you everyone, and we're looking forward to keeping you up to date.
