It's down-tuning week - Perfect timing! I just strung my main bass for BEAD. I was having difficulties switching between basses of different scaIe lengths. Now with a capo on the 5th fret, my main bass is tuned EADG and has the same effective scale as my travel bass. When I want D standard tuning, I just move the capo to the 3rd fret. And Monstertruck is my first test - 100% (Don't Tell Me How To Tune) Edit - For the record... Take THAT FreeBird police!

It's a lot thicker, front to back than the original, but with the heavier strings, I don't think that's a bad thing. I had to adjust the intonation on the E string, but that was it. I've just cut a new nut for my old Yamaha RBX 170. It's been sat for the last year with a cracked nut, because I put heavy gauge strings on without widening the nut slots first. The reason it's taken me so long to cut a new one, is that I saw the Yamaha nut and though "I've got no chance of making anything like that." But then I looked at the nut on my Peavey, and just thought "What the hell? I can do that" and I just got my files out and got on with it. :D It looks, and plays good, so far. I'll have to wait for the glue to set before I complete the set-up. But D Standard/C Standard - here I come! I think the next thing to do is put a decent nut on the Peavey... :lol:

Well here is that bass playthrough, though 2% lower than my best. And I know I have terrible form. Wrist totally bent. Nothing to be proud about for showcasing, but, I want to have as much content for the video compilation I want to send to Blaze. Cheers! Thanks to all for being so welcoming. I cannot keep pace and currently participate to the CS regularly for now, but probably by the end of the summer, I should be back much more regularly. For now I have a bunch of other Rocksmith work to do to test stuff for raynebc, for Alex 360, make a Tech Notes Sequel caslled "Chordify tutorial, and then this summer my 2nd child will be born and I administer a pretty serious soccer league, so it is really difficult to be a regular. I hope you guys have a blast and I'll see you all soon! As I am even less a bassist than a guitarist, please do offer things that stand out as the first candidates for me to correct when playing a bass. I feel the tension everywhere, so my form has got to be very, very poor. :)

Rocksmith was the reason i picked up a guitar, I had never played an instrument before in my life ; to be honest i never thought i would be able to as i broke my wedding ring finger years ago and it has never set properly, as a result i cant close it fully so stretching it actually hurts at times so i don't push it. I know i will never be anywhere near as good as i would like to be as i started too late and i have a shockingly bad short term memory ha ha. But you know what? I enjoy it when i nail a song (even if its an easy one to any one else) I am 43 years young lol (did you see what i did there?) so i know i left it late to start. I know i have improved last year , this year not so much with the stress of my wife's cancer ops she has had to endure. but now that the last lot is done and she is on the mend again i can put some more time back into it again :) One of the greatest things i find about rocksmith is the community right here! with all the new artist's i am discovering that i have never heard off and the totally awesome guys and gals here willing to help out. Do yourself a favor and record some videos to help yourself reflect on how far you have come , that is what i do. When i doubt i pull up the oldest one and cringe then realize i am not that bad after all :)

As you may of heard there is a major security flaw on Cloudflare, a service CF uses. We are recommending everyone to change and update their passwords on all websites as a lot of them do end up using Cloudflare for protection. Also remember to enable 2FA. Here's a recommended password generator: http://passwordsgenerator.net/ You can use software such as LastPass + 2FA to use it securely, which is helpful. Additionally we have secured our login system by adding SSL (https) to all logins. We had an issue with this that we finally fixed. I am editing this post to confirm there has been no leaks and none of your passwords have been compromised. It is however still strongly recommended for you to update your passwords.

Steam has added for different people a temporary ban for uploading screenshots of customs - the days accumulate depending on the number of posted screenshots. Some have deleted all their uploads - I've not heard that they've closed an account, but I would not test it out. Was it only relevant to use one of the services or a general problem if a website uses cloudflare? The search keyword is "cloudbleed" ... Some say change the password, others it's not necessary ... maybe the truth is a mix :) If you don't use the password on other sites it's probably not a high risk to keep the password. 1Password data was said it has been encrypted ... but I'm not a fan to transfer passwords or other private data into a could.

This tip really helped me with my gallops: Gallops are not triplets. They are an 1/8th note followed by two 1/16th notes. Picking pattern = D DUD DU Make sure you count "1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and" and keep the picking hand in constant motion. My gallops aren't where they need to be either, but getting a lot better practicing this way. -Hope that helps.

@@Huumetucca there's a lot more than just one click when it comes to a mac version though if you at the sharing/dl part. Charter can only put one direct link to file for the fastest way to dl a CDLC and this is required to be for the PC version. This link can also lead to a folder that contain all the platform but that mean that ALL user will have more step to get the correct CDLC and mistake happen too. There's also the solution to put the link to other platform in the release note but that mean that the user has to read the note BEFORE downloading, it's slower and requires way more step for those user. As for pack of CDLC, we won't make it a thing for now for many different reason for any platform and if you find such pack, be aware that CDLC inside might be corrupted or outdated and it will make comment regarding CDLC harder and other small detail that we consider important.

After all of this, I decided 'fuck it', and I've since gone back to my first love: Bass. No wrist pain, no stiffness and it's all coming back to me nice and easy. I wish Rocksmith had been around when I'd first started playing bass.
