  1. FINALLY got some submitable scores, although not sure I'll be able to break 97% by the deadline. When are last submissions due weekly? Stacy's Mom - Guitar - Beginner Lead - 86% https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0ChgIR6P5iyMkNCLU5WYndMN2s/view?usp=sharing

  4. @@Telboy , It was a great song; enjoying the challenge! To be honest, I didn't think I liked the song at first, but it grew on me and now it's on my main spotify playlist (same with the GoGo's song last week). =) Finding this Championship is a great way to discover new music. It's been a while since I played guitar, but I played for several years in the past - but it was a nylon string acoustic and I always played fingerstyle. Getting used to a pick is much more difficult than I was expecting, and my fretting fingers are sore, but I'm determined!

  5. Well; I still haven't gotten everything in the purple; but I'm a little better @ Stacies Mom! https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0ChgIR6P5iyZUFJTnlyR1pFM1k/view?usp=sharing Can't quite get through it on Score Attack, but ALMOST there. Hopefully I can so I can get a score submitted for the week!

  7. I really prefer 's version of Stacy's mom. (even if he misspelled it) http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k228/maztor42/Rocksmith%20championship%202014/Staceys%20mom%2099_zpsrlmh4bp4.jpg Also. Its a lot easier. So don't count this.

  9. At the end of the day, if we get enjoyment out of it, then who cares, eh? For me, with the issues of wrist pain and a general lack of progress, I simply wasn't getting that enjoyment out of the guitar, then, thankfully, last Saturday night one of my strings snapped. Dismayed, knowing that the shops weren't open yesterday, I decided to use Rocksmith and my guitar to emulate bass, and everything that I'd been missing from the enjoyment came flooding back to me. I've spent at least 2 hours every day since playing bass on the guitar and then today I went to the local pawn shop and picked up a cheap, £40 bass. And it's just great. My next thing, as you mentioned, will be to get myself a webcam and see if I can record myself, hopefully improve my technique

  10. Lol sore fingers here too! :D Since I'm making zero progress on Dani California (a song I already play every day so I've plateaued) I've started attempting some of the slappier RHCP songs (very, very badly!). All the popping though....I've worn through three fingers! :o  @@Berneer Welcome to the phat end! Glad you see why we love it so much, emulated just doesn't compare does it? :)

  11. OMG, I just rented a United States Fender Precision Bass just for fun. Brought my score down by 7% in Stare at the Sun for Bass. But it was fun to play this behemoth instrument with huge fret separations and put my every fret change into question. I could definately see now the appeal of playing bass, and of playing those sick galloping Steve Harris baselines like a badass! After playing Stare at the Sun my strumming fingers feel absolutely exhausted LOL. Well, now I know what my next purchase is going to be! And it is nice and slim enough to hide under the sofa when my wife ventures close-by .... 'Oh no honey, it's something RS calls "emulated base". Still my same ol' guiitar. Cool huh?' Took her 6 months to notice my Line 6 Helix effects pedalboard while vacuuming. Then I giddily scolded her for waiting 6 months to pass the vacuum cleaner under the sofa. Ah love and the games we play... nothing must get in the way of music.

  12. Here's a minor improvement with +1% and 100+ streak, but I don't think that I can get it into the 90% in this short time - more of a long term goal http://i1057.photobucket.com/albums/t384/papillon-pb/championship/championship2014/Bildschirmfoto%202017-02-24%20um%2022.57.53_zpslwzqxdzh.png

  13. @@JuneBeatle80 , this weeks Beginner song was a bit more challenging than some weeks, so don't worry if you don't get the 97% next week you can go for the 100% Unfortunately for me my first post will be my last post due to work and a weekend away so hopefully I'll get more time next week.... very disappointing when you like the songs :-(

  14. Probably :-) However, as for the comemnts not showing up - that's likely just the same bug several of us (myself included) see constantly. Sadly we haven't managed to nail down it's cause. We are hoping that with a forum version upgrade cmoing soon that this is one of the issues that'll be squashed. For now, your best bet is write your response, then leave it for a few minutes (until you see the "Last auto saved:" information showing up below the response box), before submitting the post.

  15. http://i.imgur.com/sSC87OP.jpg http://i.imgur.com/fHZjSpZ.jpg If I've had played with pick I would score better, but if you want any kind of fun playing RHCP, you need to play bass with fingers. But where are all those slaps that you would expect from Flea?

  16. My scores for this week: Always Summer, and Stacy's Mom. I'll try and improve on Summer later today or tomorrow. For some reason, my dog started licking my foot about half way through playing Stacy's Mom. Not sure if she was trying to help me or if she was trying to distract me. Or maybe she just doesn't want me to play that song anymore?

  22. Rocksmith was the reason i picked up a guitar, I had never played an instrument before in my life ; to be honest i never thought i would be able to as i broke my wedding ring finger years ago and it has never set properly, as a result i cant close it fully so stretching it actually hurts at times so i don't push it. I know i will never be anywhere near as good as i would like to be as i started too late and i have a shockingly bad short term memory ha ha. But you know what? I enjoy it when i nail a song (even if its an easy one to any one else) I am 43 years young lol (did you see what i did there?) so i know i left it late to start. I know i have improved last year , this year not so much with the stress of my wife's cancer ops she has had to endure. but now that the last lot is done and she is on the mend again i can put some more time back into it again :) One of the greatest things i find about rocksmith is the community right here! with all the new artist's i am discovering that i have never heard off and the totally awesome guys and gals here willing to help out. Do yourself a favor and record some videos to help yourself reflect on how far you have come , that is what i do. When i doubt i pull up the oldest one and cringe then realize i am not that bad after all :)

  27. So I had a playthough of all arrangments on both alternate versions of Stare at the Sun, due to the bass slight variances I made and mentionned earlier and posted in post #32. For Alternate 1 (6-fret sections - same frets, different fingering) I noticed this morning one odd, accidental, addition of an E6 amidst a bunch of repeated A2's. So I fixed that and replaced the link. I see one person downloaded it, so you'd best re-download. Sorry. I had to rush to get it out. Should be good now. I regressed on my CS playthough's on Lead and Bass, but improved on Rhythm.... I need a day off work to really improve my score... :) http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad41/Berneer/CustomsForge%20Championship/Week%20174%20-%20Ending%2025Feb2017/Blaze%20-%20Rhythm%20-%20Attempt%202_zpsv660bijq.png

  29. http://i.imgur.com/xt96Zo7.jpg Not that easy. http://i.imgur.com/UsrL9Cr.jpg Octave chord won't register. I blame the muted D string in the middle, it was always causing recognition issues. http://i.imgur.com/gJQvMEY.jpg I played it few times in Rock Band, as my cousin is RHCP fan. It wasn't unenjoyable on plastic guitar, it is on real one. http://i.imgur.com/KKZ09Dl.jpg ! http://i.imgur.com/x6d4Ykl.jpg Yay! More time and I will 100% it. Way to go is to memorize the pattern and play with looking on the fretboard (crazy, right?).

  31. With that section of Stare At the Sun, I'd agree that the way it's charted is roughly the best way to play it (I might disagree about some of the fingerings, but that's another thing). If the 11-16 stretch is a bit much I'd probably either try moving it to the E string (16-21, or if you don't have a 21st fret barring the 16th and playing the high note there). It's a fairly tricky riff, but it's mostly in the handshaping (which most bassists aren't especially used to) since the plucking pattern is fairly simple and familiar (root-fifth-octave then mostly raking). Anyway, here's my best go at it, after a bit of practice on that riff: http://i.imgur.com/mz9EGA0.jpg

Delete ALL of the zippyshare links on the servers and allow us to download the files without infecting our systems please. I have not bothered to test my systems security by clicking one of their links..I'm not installing anything to download a file, EVER!!

  34. Yeah, it would be different depending on whether it's a bend or slide. Assuming you mean slide: Select each of the 7/10's, hit N to bring up the note menu and check the linknext box. This connects the sustains in-game and removes the noteheads so it looks continuous.Select the second 7/10, hit control+up arrow and enter 8 as the end fret.I think that's it, unless I'm missing something. If it's a bend it might be a little more complicated, requiring tech notes. Still not too difficult though. Good luck!
