  1. 100 weeks ago, on Smithy's Anvil, Organizers of Rocksmith 2012 Championship decided to move on to Rocksmith 2014. Few months later, when Anvil died, they moved to CustomForge. Unfortunately, @@Kaijin was forced to make a break, and he left the Championship in hands of @@Joey. But with each coming week @@Joey had less time, so he asked participants for a help. @ answered the call to help him with Organizing the Championship, and to be honest, if he didn't, I would. So I was really happy that he took the job and gave me few more weeks of normal participating. Cause finally @@Joey had to step down, and I knew that it is my time. Last but not least was @@Rodman, with his idea of Rankings (honestly, I didn't liked that idea  , but it turned out quite funny ) and he joined us in the battle of better tomorrow (or something like that). 7. We played Stairway to Heaven (though not live version) on week 17. We played World on Fire on week 60 and Lemon Song on week 74. I decided to use this songs only because I wanted something really cool this week, and I would use other past played songs to fill other gaps, but fortunately there were none. And I wanted different song for MC bass this week, but couldn't get good quality version of it, so had to go with plan B (and I'm quite sad about that, as that bass song was great and I don't like Lemon Song :( ). There was only one instance when participant was allowed song that we already played. That was Hotel California - but it was played in dark ages and I couldn't say no to @@missis sumner. Though I use songs from the past as an emergency replacement (when song is too hard, or there is something terribly wrong with it) or when, again, I don't want to one class had no song two times in a row. But I try to keep it to absolute minimum.

Though solo is where the battle will take place :) Advanced Lead - 93%, streak 198 I played other versions (they do not differ much) a lot and it's not my best. That part before solo, was always killing me in Guitar Hero. Nothing has changed :( MasterClass Lead - 75%, 37 streak That felt like Jimmy Page! Haha, everytime when I hit this hybrid-picked chords I feel like lord of the universe. Most of the song is insane, even this Am7s gives me trouble. At least the power chord section is easy :P

  21. @@albatross213 I stop RR, check position and play this chord by chord, play very slow with checking strings sounds, step by step increase speed ~20-39 min (i have not more patience), then check progress in RR, if progress enough for one day, play total a song, and repeat all this every day, else again stop RR and repeat all row actions. If i very like a song, and chords really hard, do same, yet play without RS14 (guitar is offline), this changing chords and watch TV (films), a lot time. (Same for some arpeggios or solo) P.s. If i unlike a song and have not enough progress i make post there that a song bad, or this is not adv level difficult :) Pp.s For great a song, yet play this phrase with metronome(drums) via zoom g3x(start with low speed, step by step inc), like it was with one a song by Megadeth. (Real temp to got via tap function.)

  24. I was traveling all week and couldn't bring a bass. I'm planning to build a travel bass, but it will take a while. So today's scores are hampered by fat finger syndrome. Jailhouse Rock - after score attack, I must have pressed the wrong key instead of [F12] because the screen shot is nowhere to be found. It was high 90s, no red "X" marks, but could still use some tidying up. Comfortably Numb - 96.45% and most of the errors seem to timing related. So I have a couple of things to work on this week, and a couple of ideas of how to offend the FreeBird Police.

  25. Also on Songsterr you can download the Guitar Pro files of the songs, if you can find them there. I've also found a few on other sites by just googling: artist - title guitar pro. If there are really no tablatures there is no other option than getting a copy of Guitar Pro and charting it yourself from maybe text tablatures, a tablature book or recognizing the notes. Also I have to move this topic to 'Help & Support' since this forum to ask people to help you with some specific part of a CDLC like testing it. Maybe creating a tone for you.

  31. Are you sure you're clicking on a different beat marker before adding each new section? By default when you open/create a project, the first beat marker (-->) is automatically selected. If you don't manually click on a different beat marker, all Rocksmith sections you place will be on the first beat marker instead of where you want them to be. The Info panel will indicate which beat marker is currently selected (with Beat = #).

  35. I know what you mean with that. I was playing Star Chords (level 5, I think) and it took me a while before I realized that for transitioning between the C and Am chord all I had to do was move my ring from A3 to G2, I think. Before that I'd freak out and start fingering each chord from scratch. A similar thing happened for the interlude in I Want You Back, where for most of those chord changes I could slide a mini-barre around and move one other finger. I still feel like I really suck at Star Chords, especially now that there are no power chords, but it seems to actually be pretty good practice. Would be more useful if you could select which chords would show up (and not be eligible for leaderboards), but that would be too convenient.

  36. @@albatross213 there's like 10 chord shapes you need for 95% of the songs. The other 5% are Hendrix,QoTSA , and others. Learn those, and yer good. Oh, I just thought my name got really mad :P
    1 point
  37. Well, I've been giving "I Want You Back" a go on rhythm, and except for the chorus, I guess it's going OK. The interlude was pretty tricky for me, but I was able to do pretty well on it after slowing it way down in RR and getting used to the chord patterns and the transitions between them before speeding things back up. Still some room for improvement there, but... http://i.imgur.com/putSw5F.jpg But I don't really know where to begin with practicing the chorus. I have trouble arpeggiating those chords even when I have all the time in the world when looking at the chord book (speaking of which, the fingering on many of these chords is totally fucked. Unless the charter has a very uniquely shaped 255th finger) because I have trouble either cramming all of the fingers into the itty-bitty frets or if I try to fret multiple strings with one finger I usually inadvertently mute another string. Which I guess brings me to a broader question: when practicing a song that has new chords, i) how do you guys familiarize yourself with those chords and ii) how do you prepare yourself for the transitions between chords? I can deal with power chords pretty well (obviously), but when it comes to assuming more complex chord positions and then swiftly changing between them I'm pretty lost. And there's still a lot I still have to learn with regards to right hand technique, though I'm slowly getting better. Lastly, @@then3verend and @@Nacholede are mods
