  1. 1. have you seen the rock-buddy app that @ RaZrShReD recommended? If not, here's a link. I think its 97% into solving the leaderboard problem. Check weeks 530 thread for details. @ TNTMusicStudios If you can solve the 'new board on file checksum change' thing I will shill your app 666% harder. 2. But then again, the CS is more than than just leaderboards. It's got a social element that, imo, is even more important. Also, just the fact that there's a new track every week makes it that: a. you have to play stuff from genres you wouldn't normally play b. you can see your competitors progress in real time c. once you get the win no one can take it away. d. Since you only got a week to do it, you're forced to push yourself everytime. Of course, if you can win every time with a sight-read it's easy to miss. But for us mere mortals it's a totally different game than a straight up leader board.

  8. CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT!!! YEAAHHH!!!! I realized I forgot to say something important: Thanks @ Hughmonty for hosting the week!!! Thanks to you, there is one guy here in the far east having fun!!! OK, here we go!!!! ---- Well, I would never imagined I would be playing Karma Chameleon on guitar!! And I really thought I would never be able to achive 99% in intermediate... I can't believe I finally did it!!! (Of course after a good session of RR) Who is organizing next week?? Yes, I want to be in advance!!! I thought I would never make it!!! (This is 5, so you can get a promotion, right?...) Full disclosure: I suck doing arpegios with pick, since I learned arpegios with my fingers in acoustic guitar in Mexico. So my RR session was about practicing arpeggios with fingers with the pick in my mouth, and then take it quickly to play chords I did another session of RR for lead as wel... I don't know why it includes the sound of the sax instead of keep doing the guitar riff that you can hear in the background.

  9. We already know that bass charts are often rated too highly for you. On the other hand, when I recently tested some of your suggestions for bass-only songs, I almost always thought that the diff rating was too low. One you even qualified as beginner when it was advanced. You have to take into account that bass charts are usually less complicated than guitar charts, so we take a more gentle approach to assessing their difficulty, otherwise it would be difficult to create a weekly songs selection for the championship.

  10. It's crazy what a little bit of competition does to one's motivation, ain't it? That's the value that the championship brings. Big thanks for sharing the score.

  12. New scores on the updated karma chameleon! I think the lead is definatley more polished / more doable now and i like the tones more now. Still think it might bea bit harder than the song in advanced lead though lol.

  13. I can finally post these scores. I played lead for the first time over a month ago, but I lost screenshot, so today I played again and it was good because I managed to achieve 90%. Epic composition!

  14. I know it is too late now, but there are few bass only songs laying there and I would change Bass Advanced class song as it is waaay too easy for Advanced IMHO..

  15. Pppfff you know me, the old fart complaining bout ratings xD if i see a chart with lots of straight single notes or open strings and minimum fills i probably will spawn in the forum saying it should be int. Not sure what song i put begginer and it was advanced..then again i havent really suggested in a long time except for a knower song which i put advance but could be mc (not sure if i can change with the new system) .... I know that when i was suggesting them if i 100% first try it itd usually be begginer or low int . beg could also be like a 4 bar or shorter riff that just repeats through out the song...or a song with like 2 sections A and B like verse/chorus.... or a song with not that many shifting or string changing...or if they did itd be one of them but usually not both..usually they were short aswell...atleast thats how I thought I did the ratings back then. But anyways, yea i understand the situation. Im just happy to play songs in the championship regardless of difficulty.Although... Its always funner imo when i see rzrshrd get a high score and im nowhere near it

  17. used to play this song alot. forgot thats what the bassline was like. kinda odd but a great tune. thought he had posted a version without the intro and outro....maybe im remembering wrong. another classic! that being said dont really enjoy playing it lol. also gl for intermediate lead players...thats gonna be really tough imo to 99. dont think i would be able to. the bass in the intro is also tabbed harder than it needs to... so also kinda hard to fc. i think this should be more of an intermediate rating for bass and rhythm...maybe also lead but slightly higher..seems too simple for advanced but i usually think this type of metal should be on the easier sides since its just alot of power chords/ simple rhythms/ not many changes/ not enough filler riffs. i enjoyed the tab tho. Havent really listened to aerosmith much but i liked the bass! fun song to play will keep it. For me its rated a bit high...i would put it in high int or low advanced.

  19. Exploratory runs... A little off the beat on the d to b part of the riff. Another 1 of those songs that I thought I'd never play but ended up enjoying... The aerosmith song seems a tad easy for advanced I'd say. Not that I'm nailing it yet, rocksmith is scoring me generously on this 1.

  20. Love playing this although I agree with another member Its been over complicated Rhythm barre chords galore hand workout Lead wasn't ready for the broken chords will have to play again Bass I believe maybe this deserves to be a little higher ranking as @ aNDESmASAMUNE mentioned maybe a 4.5

  28. WORLD WIDE ROCKSMITH CHAMPIONSHIP, FIRST DAY!!! YEEAHHH!!! Here we go!!! --- I am OK this being in intermediate, but I think this is between intermediate and advance bass and should be rated much higher... I would have rated it 6 or 6.5 If this is in advance bass, the correct rating would be 7 (easy advance) I am not a huge fan of Aerosmith, but Eat the Rich, and Walk This Way are the songs I like the most from them. I don't like much their hit ballads, and I think they just started to keep making ballads because that is what was selling... Anyway, fun song to play. The bass is a bit too easy for Masterclass

  30. How to Use Custom DLC (CDLC) on Mac (2023 Update) The following instructions are for Rocksmith 2014 Remastered, with the latest update installed. These instructions may not work for older versions or pirated versions of the game, and I will provide no support for pirated versions. Please buy the game and support the developer. Without the game, we would have nothing to play customs with anyway. Download the patch here : https://github.com/aik002/RSBypass/releases/download/1.8pre2/RSBypass.zip Video instruction : To convert PC customs to Mac version : https://github.com/glebb/rocksmithconvert/releases/download/2.2.0/RSConvert_GUI-2.2.zip Here are all the steps (read them carefully) : Your user account needs to be an Administrator account. Download the Rocksmith Patch: https://github.com/aik002/RSBypass/releases/download/1.8pre2/RSBypass.zip Unzip the patch file and double-click on "RUN_PATCH_RS.command" to run the patch. This will patch the Rocksmith 2014 app file to allow cDLC's to work. **If you encounter a permissions error, see the note below** Download the customs you want. Make sure they end in "_m.psarc". If they end in "_p.psarc" they are PC only versions and will need to be converted with the Toolkit. I'll put instructions for that down below. Place the customs in the dlc folder. The location is: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Rocksmith2014 It is a hidden folder, so the easiest way to find it is to open Finder, and using the "Go" menu, select "Go To Folder" and paste the location in there. You can then drag the dlc folder to your sidebar to create a permanent link. You can also find the folder by opening Steam and going to your games library and right-clicking on Rocksmith 2014, and choosing "Properties". Select the "Local Files" tab and click on "Browse Local Files" Launch Rocksmith 2014 by either opening Steam and running it from "Library", or launch it from the Mac Launchpad by clicking on "Rocksmith 2014" Say goodbye to your family, friends, and free time. You won't be seeing any of them for a while. **If you encounter a permissions error while running the patch: Right-click on the patch and select "Get Info" Under "Sharing & Permissions", make sure that all users listed have "Read & Write" permissions. If they do not, click the small lock icon in the bottom right corner to allow the permissions to be changed, and enter your Admin password. Then select each user that needs to be changed and alter the permissions. Repeat for the other two files needed for the patch ("insert_dylib" and "libRYBypass.dylib") Updated 2023/11/01, confirmed to work until Sonoma OS.

  31. That's way too difficult for a beginner. I would recommend 'BB King - Thrill is gone'. It's an official DLC for Rocksmith actually. Also 'Albert King with Stevie Ray Vaughan - Born under a bad sign' is a really good song to work your way up to. Solo is not too difficult to master by slowing down with the riff repeater. Also an official DLC. I would say just buy the song if it's available as official DLC instead of downloading it as a custom DLC. If the song I want to play is available as official DLC I buy the DLC. If not, I download the CDLC.
