  1. I just started to get into the customs game, so I figured what better way to introduce myself than by showing the guitars, I do plan on streaming at some point (though not right away). I have 3 main axes and a 4th thats just a sentimental piece cause it was my first real guitar. I'll just show the main body shots, I have more detailed pics if anyone wants them. First One: Jackson Kelly JK20 in metallic blue, Student Model, Made in India. added coil splitter, duncan pickups. Same wiring configuration and pickups as Petrucci used in his Ibanez models. My first real guitar. Second One: Charvel 750XL in Trans Red (Flametop). Semi limited run model made in japan. Superstrat archtop. Custom made pickups . Third One: Custom Built Warmoth. Stacked Tone and Volume Pots, Custom made pickups, Amberburst (quilt top) mahogany body with a Pau Ferro Neck and Kingwood Fingerboard. Meets all Fender replacement part requirements. Last One: Jackson Custom Death Angel. Trans Green Burst. 5A Quilt Archtop, Koa Neck and Body, Abalone Zig Zag Sharkies, Contoured Bolt Heel, Natural Binding, Ziricote Fingerboard, 3 position spliiter tapped into the 5 blade, allows for 15 or so different pickup configurations. This is my baby, took me about 6 years to get the money together for it when I was in college. And it took them 2 years to build it. One of the last customs before Fender took over. Built by Mike Shannon http://i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r725/Khellendros5/Guitarsandsuch073_zps71480317.jpghttp://i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r725/Khellendros5/Guitarsandsuch068_zps68daae77.jpg http://i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r725/Khellendros5/Guitarsandsuch064_zps34ed6f28.jpg http://i1364.photobucket.com/albums/r725/Khellendros5/Guitarsandsuch059_zps9b061d1e.jpg

  2. Great ideas here! I think the most rewarding ability while playing an instrument is to be able to play what you hear.I wonder why Rocksmith has not included such essential lessons in the original lessons. What we need is some ear training lessons. I don't know if it is possible to do but I imagine this:Rocksmith plays a riff and the player has to repeat that riff on guitar. The notes of the riff will be hidden like in mastermode. The first levels will be two note phrases. The first note will be shown and the second note has to be guessed. This lesson is very usefull to begin to hear the different note intervals. The more advanced levels will be three note phrases, four notes etc. until we play little melodies by ear.

  5. http://i.imgur.com/TJLzxe7.png Well, hello there. I'm starting this thread as a way to communicate with other contributors and also to make a list (or whatever) of songs that are already done, or the ones that are being worked on, or the ones that the contributors want to do in the future. The thread is also to share tones, suggestions, and all the other Muse talk. If anyone needs anything from me, just email me Cheers to Contributors: It would be nice if you tried to get your custom songs approved. That means, provide the best tone, DD, RR, everything needed to get your song approved. We are doing it for people so lets make it properly ? 6. Well, I've been downloading songs for a little while now, loving all the incredible music and learning to play guitar and bass with some of my favorite artists. Regularly I'd hear a song on the radio that made me want to play, and I'd check to see if it was available for download. 99% of the time it's there, but this one wasn't. This is my first attempt at creating CLDC, so I'm sure there will be some bumps in the road. I'm also a novice guitar player, and just bought a bass about a month ago, so I probably won't be able to *play* what I'm creating! Oh well, part of the learning process! Artist: Anberlin Song: Feel Good Drag Album: New Surrender Video: Tab: http://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/anberlin-feel-good-drag-tab-s25311t0 I'm using a Tab from Songsterr, and I don't think that's the norm. I checked Ultimate Guitar, and they're all removed. I checked the tab from Songsterr and it looks pretty good - I haven't found any errors so far. I'm going to take a stab at this, hopefully I won't have too many questions. Wish me luck! BTW: I did searches to see if this song was in the works anywhere and I didn't find anything at all. Please let me know if someone else is working on this that I couldn't find! I did check The Big List and didn't find it, but I'm new to this portion of the CustomsForge forums, so I might have missed it.

  7. Originally posted on the Anvil, now linked here. :) ---- I haven't yet seen a simple how-to-use CDLC video guide for RS2014 so I created one. I hope that it's helpful to some. PC only, because I don't have a Mac, PS3, or Xbox. EDIT: Once CustomsForge.com gets fully up and running, I'll probably make a new video that showcases here specifically to replace this old one that has Anvil-specific sequences.

  9. I'm a pretty new user here, and I've downloaded quite a few customs. I figure it's time for me to try my hand at making one. I noticed the lack of Kamelot on the exchange, so I'm fixing that! My first custom is Kamelot's "Karma". If you've never heard of Kamelot, give them a listen; you won't be disappointed. Any tips as I work on this custom are greatly appreciated. I'll need someone that's familiar with the song to test it before I release so I know what I missed. I'm probably going to need a custom tone for it as well.

  10. I'm trying to make a Fraps recording of me playing a song in Rocksmith Score Attack to motivate one of my friends to pick up his guitar. I can play pretty well, but I do miss a note now and then. The problem is that Score Attack makes a sort of clunk sound when you miss a note and I really don't want to highlight my errors in the video. Is there any way to turn off or disable the missed note sound? I know that you don't get the sound outside of Score Attack, but the video is more interesting with the score showing. Plan B is to just not miss any notes, I'm working on that, lol.

  11. They addressed this in a patch a while ago. There should be an option somewhere in the game setting that controls the gain of the cable.

  15. I just type in the lyrics directly into EOF, it's very simple. I don't see the need for yet another program (there are already so many involved in making cdlcs). The lyrics are nothing fancy, but then most of the time I'm focused on playing guitar, not reading lyrics. I find having the lyrics in EOF makes it easier to create the tab too.
    1 point
  16. As above said. And when you´re in EOF synching the lyrics. First thing to do is CTRL+A -> CTRL+C (Copy all vocals) And then delete them and paste them in again. This will remove the autogenerated "sentence" breakers (Blue bar behind lyrics). Line them up. use mouse scroll to change how long the word is heard and then mark all words you want on ONE line and use CTRL+M. Do this through the whole song. You´ll understand :) Maybe there´s an easier way?

  17. Download the lyric from internet and use the ultrastar creator program to sincronize the text with the music, with this program you generate a file to import in EOF with the lyric import option (F8), here you need to syncronize again the text with the music (song>track>Part vocals) why? probably because you add a leading silence at the begining of the song (use the option select all to move all at the same time), and after save you have a xml file, this xml file generated in EOF is needed in rocksmith toolkit to add in the RS file.

  25. So ask for a Tester, allright here i'm. That'S definitely not my kind of music. But i played it and everything works good. Even the Bass Track seems to work in there somehow. I can't say if the Tabs are Correct i never learned that song. But it works how it is.
    1 point
  26. So u ask for a check up of the song here I'm. First what i had to say i miss the Rhythm Guitar. I couldn't see the Tabs and Songster they dont like me for unknown reason xD. But without that, Lead Guitar looks so far good , only some times a few second out of sync , only less than a second at the transition between intro to verse and later again. At Fullspeed u will not realy recognize it, but if u learn it with Riff Repeator u see it very Clear. Bass part, no i played this one without RR, looks so far in sync. Little bit confused about that but seems to work. But i would say that u also re check this with the RR only to be complete sure about it. Everyone has a diffrent Feeling about it and see/hear it diffrent. But for the First CDLC , as a overall view, a very Solid work. Keep on Rocking.

  29. Ok think I figured out Bandicam and Fraps, guess I will have to try both and see which one I like better. Thanx Baker and Rock for the suggestions!

  30. Might have to give Fraps a try. Got Bandicam and I am having problems with it. First it seems that it will only record if Rocksmith is in windowed mode, don't know if the the alt + tab command messes with the programs ability to record. When I did record with Rocksmith in windowed mode I got a message from Rocksmith that my "Audio devices were unplugged" (I tried with and without headphones) and the recording was only about 3 seconds long. The one thing I do like about Bandicam is that it records the selected program and nothing else.

  32. See the explanation about changing volumes -- you can change all of the song information in the toolkit too. You can even rename things to follow your own system if you want. You can go even further. If there are parts about the chart you don't like -- maybe you don't agree with the way it's tabbed for example, or you want to add in tone changes, or it's missing a bass part and you're a bass player -- you can open up the chart in EOF and make those changes. It's really truly fantastic what people have developed here (well, not here, I'm not sure exactly where this project started).

  36. @@cstewart, you make a great point, the ultimate-guitar solution would be far from ideal, but it might be partially solved if we go back to the "approved" vs. just a community ratings system. In that case, people searching for the "best" version of a song can filter versions / variations of a song by those "blessed" by a community song approver. (more on this later) Similar to @@RobotMonster's first points, let's say we have a user like @altamont who have uploaded a lot of Bass tracks, and I wanted to add a Rhythm guitar part to some, I shouldn't have to ask him permission for each track and wait for response if, in this example, he may not care if someone added the guitar parts, or fixed a tone. Having the checkbox per song or account that says "go nuts" would save a lot of time for both parties, and help promote community involvement in the process. And we'd leave the default value to be off, so that people don't accidentally open-source their work. @@RobotMonster, that's a great example for exclusive ownership. My only counter to that, and it would not win an argument, would be that writing a piece of music may not mean you'd be the best user of the EOF tool etc. I do think that putting up your songs here, especially if we created a separate forum in the workshop for user-created songs, would be awesome, and a great self-promotional tool. Plus, wouldn't it be great to be able to ask the actual author - hey, is this a bend or a slide, or what delay pedal did you use, etc. Here's the situation, as I understand it: This community is completely dependent on having authors of CDLCs that keep updating and uploading their work, so in the end, we have to keep them happy. The community is also a relatively new one at that and, as we saw with Smithy's, is definitely fallible, therefore striking a balance between those that publish their work vs. those that consume / rate them is a tough task. The problem: 1) the work that authors do varies in quality / accuracy. No transcription is perfect, and neither should it be held to that standard. 2) whereas author's efforts in transcription is worthy of recognition, unless they wrote the songs, they cannot have a monopoly on the actual songs themselves. Right now, if I wanted to do another version of Back in Black with an improved solo, and the original author is unresponsive or didn't agree with my suggestion, I'd have to do Back in Black v2, and then we'd have the same problem as ultimate-guitar. Chances are that I'd have used most of the same notes and tones as the original author anyway to save effort, then there might be an argument of me passing off his or her work as my own, but my counter argument would be that I was emulating the song, which they don't own, not their work. A possible solution: A great goal for a community like this would be to make the barrier of entry to contribution so low that everyone would be able to add work without fear. If their work was good, it would be incorporated to the "approver-blessed" version. This is why I like the open-source model so much. Authors could start a piece and upload it, others could clone it and submit pull requests which could be approved by either the original author, a moderator, or the community at large. Otherwise, someone can fork a project, and turn the tones all into Reggae for a lark. Having this ability to Remix music would make it a very enlightening community. This solution would require a lot of re-work for the forum, but just having an "open-source" checkbox per song or author would make for a great step towards it. We could test this out in a sub-forum, and work out the kinks before rolling them out to the rest at large.
