I can do so much better, there are so many hits on the E, A and D strings during those straight runs on the 1st, 3rd, 8th and 10th  frets that I'm hitting but not accurately enough, get one perfect in every 10 notes or so on those parts... not sure if there is a subtle sync issue or if there is a very slight rhythm pattern... I personally would like a "bewm budum bewm budum bewm budum bewm budum" rhythm as opposed to the "buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh" I'm reading :( but that's just me. :)

That might be all you need as I don't really love this song. I started a new job with tons of hours and time is limited. I will focus on Zebra, but I might give this one a few more runs if time permits. I work Saturdays now too, so probably not.

Dying with the bloody cold again today :(

Could barely make it though a song without sneezing, which makes it quite hard to play !

Managed this run on Foo Fighters lead before giving up, getting some lemsip and cuddling up on the couch :D

Put some more work on the Foos lead today.

http://i.imgur.com/YtVTe1n.jpgSo close to the potentially lead-preserving @@Gamut-buster! Played pretty cleanly throughout (phrase status), but with some pretty stupid mistakes, which made this run much worse than it should have been.

1) Missing some notes during the "fast octave chords" part and "lead during the chorus" part, which led to me being distracted and

2) Forgetting where the unison bends come in and instead going to the descending octave chords. Then panicking when trying to get back on track. For these actions I was awarded a strike.

I think there was a little bit of other foolishness in there, but those were pretty serious. That same run with 7 fewer misses (maybe a little optimistic given how I do on the unison bends) probably would be near 97% territory.

Also, since I forgot to mention this a while back... if @ was talking about the bends at the end of "All Along the Watchtower" with the fast bends, those aren't that bad to hit, as most of them are (appropriately) charted as picking a held bend and continuing the hold. Just holding that bend and picking it I was able to "only" get 15 misses on the last two sections (~127 notes), with most of the misses being due to rebends. Might be a bit easier to read if it were charted with tremolo picked bends (each lasting maybe a quarter or half note, or from one rebend to the next, or something), but as is it's charted well. Pretty sensitive to your bend strength, though, so I can miss a lot of notes during a run if I'm not paying attention.

Ok, because of poor results and overall lack of skill @NoonyDeloony gets downgraded to Advanced. She would be forever remembered as shameful person... and then she'll make another charming video and we'll forget about that.

Foo lead reprise:

http://i.imgur.com/vDNynY2.jpgHad 3 stupid misses on the easy high lead part. No idea how I managed that. Anyway, this (barely) puts me in the lead with a crappy streak. Come at me, @@Gamut and @@ezeikiel2517 (winner of this week's dedication award!)! And maybe you other guys who are still pretty close.

Also worked on Hendrix for a bit. Here was the result:

http://i.imgur.com/NMG1fSR.jpgCould do better on some parts as is (some of the less crazy parts of the verses, some of the leads, the outro where I went off pitch for a bit), could probably do a lot better on some of the parts with dedicated RR (again, some of the less crazy parts of the verses, some of the easier leads), but I'm pretty happy with this. While there are definitely some motifs that repeat throughout the song, there's not really anything significant that's a straight repeat, which combined with the difficulty of the individual pieces means learning to play it well would take quite the effort.

Edit: And while I'm in Eb, why not do rhythm too? Not as painful as I found it my first time through, I think since I approached some of the chords a bit differently. Also more comfortable with the chord transitions near the end. Probably could push this a decent amount higher with practice, as this was just a second run-through without any RR.

@@albatross213 , making me work!! :P

I really struggle to get these transitions exactly right. After some RR, I can kill it on the squealy bends, but I can't help but drop a chord or two every time I have to fly halfway across the neck. I might have a few more goes at it in the morning, but this is pretty good for now.

I don't even know what's going on in my brain when I'm doing this song. There's no repeated parts, I'm not really working from memory. I just watch my fingers fly around, mildly pleasing sounds come out of my speakers, then at the end my score is a percent or two higher each time.

Not much time for me this week, SOMEBODY hornswaggled me into starting a jazz user group (check it out: BlueNote Jazz Cafe).  My feeble attempts for this week:

Beginner (Bass) - Pat Benatar; Hell Is for Children - 97.08%

Yet another fun week. I believed that taking on a challenge with the name Jimi Hendrix associated to it only was a challenge for the guitar player - I was wrong.

Pulling off some parts at a decent level, and other parts was an embarrassing stumble.

Here is the result:

Bass MC - 93,08 %

23169418709_602147bef7.jpg

Lead on guitar brought back some memories (yes, I am that old). A great tune! I had some trouble with the quickest part in the solo, partly due to the speed, but also partly due to the fact that I didn't really catch the musical idea - there was no "tune". It was more or less a set of notes on top of each other...

Lead IM - 96,06%

23241647970_1f633f1ef8.jpg

Finally - love Foo Fighters. Didn't put to much effort on this one...

Rythm IM - 94,66%

Looking forward to a new week of challenges -  :)

Problems with Rocksmith registering? Don't bother - remember the wise words of Yngwie Malmsteen:

I'm late, I know, but here's my first go:

I've had a bad couple of weeks.  I got stabbed by a falling chisel at work last Tuesday, right at the base of my right index finger, so just haven't been able to play.  It still feels a bit weird, so I don't know if I'll be able to do much better.  I will give it a try though. :)

After a smattering of ~96s, I think this is the best I'm going to do.

Well played, @@Gamut!

Might use the remaining time to see if I can get to 97% on rhythm on Hell is for Children.
