Beginner:  Nickelback - Million Milen An Hour

Nickelback was never for me, but this one has interesting guitar and is fun to play. Quite fast, with some string muting.

Intermediate: Coheed and Cambria - You Got Spirit, Kid

Too poppy? 1st Coheed song we played was really fun, even tough it was quite hard. This one is not for me. But it has some varied stuff to play.

Advanced: The Rolling Stones - Angie

Yay, Rolling Stones. Quite difficult, solo-less song. And bass is very fun while easy.

Masterclass: Symphony X - Domination

I don't know. Fast riffs, sweeps. That should be something for me, but it just doesn't tick. So I can't get into it, the way I got into Sylosis. Maybe Sylosis is better band overall? :P

Also, I should note that there are some note detection issues on Domination, at least on bass. I made a post about it, so hopefully we'll be able to find a fix before the week runs out.

But if not, I don't think the random misses in the verses will have much of an effect on the ordering that the rest of the song will impose.

I figured it might be easier to start from scratch rather than fix whatever's gone wrong with the note detection on Domination, so here's a test version I made that's bass only at the moment. Still some other changes I want to make, but I played through it and I think only had 1 miss on the verses, and none on that crazy trill thing before the last verse (which usually knocked me down a few score multiplier checkpoints). Sadly, my fretting hand dexterity is otherwise  remarkably awful today, so I still haven't beaten the score from the playthrough video I did a few days ago (and was alluded to above).

If there are recognition problems on guitar I can try to whip something up for that as well.

@@then3verend - this should help in your quest for master mode, I hope! It also has fewer sections, though I think still enough to practice to.

I got a start on Angie on bass this week

On You Got Spirit Kid, I have to admit that I don't have the rhythm down yet but still had a reasonable score.  I won't post it because I want to get a better feel for the song first

Finding Coheed a real battle. Not a fan of the song either, so i'll probably focus more on Angie. I'll be punching above my weight but a more satisfying result if i can make some real progress on this.

I think I messed up the link in my original post, so here's again a link to the fixed bass version of Domination: link. I fixed most of the things that I messed up or had been lazy about in the previous version, so it should be good.

Here's my score on this version:

Fretting hand still kind of sucks (and my pinky is kind of sore which does not help with many of the riffs in this song), but this was a pretty good run. Video will come when it's uploaded. Maybe 20 minutes from now, maybe more.

Also, here's a sick playthrough by someone else:

Last night when i played Angie i had lots of problems with note detection. Today i started with a calibration and it got me another 5% accuracy without improving at all.  And when my frustration of bad note detection disappeared learning got a lot easier.

Huge improvement.
