  1. thanks for sharing.. :) i like that track/arrangement, and (as well constructive critizism) would agree that a bit more time should be spent on the mixing phase.. please don't just wait for the mastering process to get a "good mix" ;) 10 hours for recording and mixing the whole 5-track EP? that's basically what a mixing session for a single song takes when you want high quality results (if it does not contain too many tracks.. some songs may take days to mix well) definitely keep it up and i'd like to hear more in the future :)
  2. i agree with the others.. i bought it for PS3 at first, however only then I realized i needed to first crack my PS3 to play cdlc's.. i did order a hardware-flasher to crack my PS3, however while waiting for the shipment I found one of the above mentioned sales, so i bought the game for PC for 15 USD.. i'm using the cable that was supplied with the PS3-game, but now i primarily play on PC and hardly on PS3 (which i did crack once the flasher arrived, but only to not have wasted money on the flasher :P )
  3. i think steps by 10% are actually a bit too much in the higher registers (especially from 90 to 100).. what i do is i start at a low value (usually around 50) and then go through each section (usually bundled in sets of 2) until i can play them without error twice in a row.. then i go to the next set of sections.. once that's done i go through the whole track and then increment in steps of 5%-points.. sometimes i don't bother getting it 100% correct, when i know i played it right, and it was just the note recognition that's messing with my temper ;)
  4. http://static.fjcdn.com/comments/5113044+_467b34e6803bb2a9f38b7e753bfbaada.jpg no, currently on either a leather chair (with arm rests, which are really annoying), or a similar big chair without rests when i'm upstairs, or my couch.. need to get something like this quick lock seat soon
  5. i as well can recommend the squier models.. i have a telecaster vintage modified SSH (my first guitar) and i still enjoy playing it.. my former teacher has a mexican fender and told me that he actually prefers mine ;) a good setup also makes quite a difference, so i'd recommend having done that right away when buying it..
  6. hehe, yes, sometimes i do give a f.. but it's better other people have low/no expectations at first, and then are positively surprised, than the other way around ;) according to your description this might have to do with the drivers.. have you tried deleting them and then re-installing them? might be worth a try..
  7. usually when windows closes a program, there's a log-entry in the "event viewer" if you open this application (just use windows search for "event viewer"), then go to "windows logs" - "applications" and search for the crash of RS.. maybe the output there can provide a bit more information on why this has happened (i.e. the faulty module). even if this doesn't help you/us to find the cause, it will possibly help ubisoft..
  8. I agree.. a friend of mine (female) asked me a little while ago: "why do you have so many guitars? you can only play one at a time".. after my question "how many pairs of shoes do you have..??" there first was silence, and then she changed the topic of our conversation..
  9. i have 5 at the moment.. still trying to catch up with my uncle (he's got 17)
  10. oh, because i just looked into them: stone temple pilots' "plush" and "interstate love song" might be interesting to you?
  11. Hammerbox .. a band out of Seattle during the big grunge time in the early 90's, but they never made it big..i found out about them from a snowboarding video-tape around that time.. (oh.. i'd LOVE to see someone do a cdlc from "when 3 is 2")
  12. i don't drink coffee (hm, ok maybe one cup a year.. and that's a lot to me ;))
  13. have you tried anything from dire straits? (sultans of swing, tunnel of love, money for nothing ..)
  14. i bought the game for my PS3 and only got to know about cDLCs later.. then I ordered an E3 flasher to jailbreak my PS3, however while waiting for this flasher in the mail i came across a sale for RS2014 on PC for 15$US (about 12 Euro for me), so i bought it.. i could use the cable that i already had from the PS3-kit.. now i mostly play on my PC.. oh, and when i finally received my E3 flasher, i did jailbreak the PS3, but primarily to not have wasted money on the flasher ;) i just checked, the sale at the store where i had ordered the game is over, so it's back up to 60 USD...
  15. i'm a bit surprised that Orianthi hasn't been mentioned here yet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQKvyqG7Nc4
  16. i'm not at home to check the exact stats, but it's gotta be Aerosmith - Dream on.. close second is Weezer - Say it ain't so
  17. thank you :) your LP looks amazing as well.. half plain, half flame.. (i really love plain tops!) is it a '58?
  18. i have a Gibson Studio and a 68 Reissue (so one of the cheaper and one of the more expensive ones in Gibsons lineup) and i have to say that i grab the Studio 90% of the time (unless I need the sound of the PUs or the seemingly endless sustain.. so nothing of relevance when practicing or playing RS ;))).. I went through a couple of Studios at the store and they all felt and sounded different.. when i got a hold of the one that I now own it just felt "right" (size of the neck, movability on the fretboard..) when playing.. not even the 68, or a friends 59 RI feel that "good" to me, so the best advice I can give is to just try them out locally before spending any cash.. if it feels right to you it doesn't matter if it says "Gibson" or "Epiphone" on the headstock (or if you paid 500 or 5000 for it).. a Gibson would be easier to re-sell (in case that's ever needed) though.. edit: oh.. weight is also important.. my 68 is so heavy that you couldn't last a full gig with it over your shoulders without getting sore.. the studio is MUCH lighter, as it's not solid (either chambered or weight relieved, which also affects tonality).. one of the reasons the 58/59's are so expensive is also that they are solid and still pretty light..
  19. Marshall AFD100 Marshall YJM100 Marshall 1960av Marshall MG10 Roland Micro cube ..then i also have Guitar Kontrol/Guitar Rig, but I hardly ever use that, because when I record it's more going through the YJM or Logic's amp designer
  20. (I swear the first image is in focus! did you go for the booze again?? ) Gibson Les Paul '68 Reissue 5A Quilt top in Fire Mist (the bridge PU is from Bareknuckle), a Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster SSH and a Gibson Les Paul Studio.. (in case someone wonders, the Amps are an AFD100 on top and a YJM100 below, connected to a 1960AV) http://666kb.com/i/cqkgo39ycmwiw3alp.jpg http://www.ijustdontgiveaf.com/img/68RI.jpg and this custom made Lapstick travel guitar: i don't have a picture of my acoustic one, but it looks like this:
  21. initially PS3, however as i just saw the PC version for 15 USD at macgamestore (serial is for steam, so it also works on PC), i got the PC version yesterday as well.. cable is the same that came with my PS3 version
  22. oh, that sucks big time.. do you have a list of serial numbers to look out for (i.e on ebay and such?) i assume he already put it on http://www.theguitarvaults.com/ and similar sites?
  23. that's a great link.. i remember having found it a couple years ago, when i started guitar, however completely forgot about it again.. thanks! another link that i can recommend is (for some people obviously) http://www.musictheory.net/ it's not guitar-specific though..
  24. it's based on a regular 12 bar blues played in a shuffle rhythm, however he doesn't really follow the standard pattern.. the standard progression is I - IV - V and usually is played in a pattern of: I - IV - I - I - IV - IV - I - I - V - IV - I - V and over again (which Slash doesn't really follow here) so let's say you want to play a blues in E you'd play E - A - E - E - A - A - E - E - B - A - E - B.. the notes to play within this shuffle for instance for E would be the open E string, and on the A string you could "move" between B and C# (both belong to the E major scale.. they're the 5th and 6th).. i think it's easier tabbed out: e:-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|B:-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|G:-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|D:-------------|-22-44-22-44-|-------------|-------------|-22-44-22-44-|A:-22-44-22-44-|-00-00-00-00-|-22-44-22-44-|-22-44-22-44-|-00-00-00-00-|E:-00-00-00-00-|-------------|-00-00-00-00-|-00-00-00-00-|-------------|e:-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|B:-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|G:-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|D:-22-44-22-44-|-------------|-------------|-44-66-44-66-|-22-44-22-44-|A:-00-00-00-00-|-22-44-22-44-|-22-44-22-44-|-22-22-22-22-|-00-00-00-00-|E:-------------|-00-00-00-00-|-00-00-00-00-|-------------|-------------|e:-------------|-------------|-----------------------------------------|B:-------------|-------------|-----------------------------------------|G:-------------|-------------|-----------------------------------------|D:-------------|-44-66-44-66-|-----------------------------------------|A:-22-44-22-44-|-22-22-22-22-|-----------------------------------------|E:-00-00-00-00-|-------------|-----------------------------------------|obviously this can be transposed to any key you like..
