  4. cool song sounds very blink182 sum41 inspired. vocals kinda remind me of the plankton ai rock songs that are being generated..some are on cf under boiwhat by dell cool foo fighters song havent really heard of them since early 2000s and their latest hit last year? that one was always playing in all the retail stores lol. This one kinda sounds more like a stone temple pilots song or queens of the stone age vibe more than foofighter imo cool song fun to play on bass, would be nice if the sections where shorter to riff repeat more efficiently i liked this song dont think if heard of them before. fun to play nice challenging song

  5. oh haha, I'm at 500 hours in Steam now but only have ~250 hours of in-game playtime ===== Happy new week! First playthroughs lead: The advanced song seems to be quite a bit easier on first glance, but we'll see how it pans out

  8. yes I have backups (i've also got corruption once but I was lucky to have a somewhere fresh whole disk backup), and I definitely played more outside Rocksmith that inside it, like 24 years now (I'm also a long time Rocksmith player, since the first edition). My sightreading indeed is way better on tab than RS. So maybe that's why my scores are good, it's not only 525 hours, probably 5000 sloppy hours I played a lot in my first teen years, then with university, I lost the focus and played randomly (even if I was playing in a band for years). Quitting gaming 3 o 4 years ago helped me to fall in love again with music and playing guitar @ Mikson impressive!!! Returning to scores, I heard this song on some playlist on Spotify, it's a strange dejavu to play it here. Strange song too

  9. Steam Will count every moment RS It open I believe, the game stats only count when you are actually playing. I also sometimes leave RS open for days

  10. great! This week I'm also celebrating my 1000ish hours on Rocksmith 2014!! (Not net net because sometimes I forgot Rocksmith open because of interruption and then I let it open for hours!) The championship has definitely boosted my hours. I think two years ago, when I started, I was at 500 or something (and I didn't play guitar outside Rocksmith anymore for years) now to the scores, I started with a nice simple Foo. more will come PS. I'm also back on working on the score assistant (OCR application) to make it more robust, but it will take a while

  12. - sorry for another repeat week - ratings are original - Deep Purple song links to version from week 330, no longer available in ignition. There are newer CDLCs of the song now. If you think they're better, let us know. I didn't have the time to test. - have fun

  17. @ avastreg Wow grats on the 1k hour count!! a big achievement for sure and time can fly after that lol. I guess your next milestone is 1k net playing hours (make backups to not lose progress if you ever want to aim for that). Do you practice alot outside of rocksmith or had some training beforehand? cause you are a good guitar player and yet i probably have alot more game hours and im not at your lvl. Unfortunatley i cant access the actual hours since the game has gotten corrupt so many times/ had to restart from 0 but the steam hours is absurdley high. (i think from testing cdlcs or leaving computer on, and honestly cause i only pick up the guitar when playing or trying to record something) kinda curious how many hours @ Rodman has since he's been in the competition for so long and also has made some cdlcs

  18. @ coldrampage mad respect for you playing lazy by deep purple atleast 26 times on bass in that weeks competition! that's so much time just waiting for the song to play xD I didnt know he had been playing in the competition since that time but it makes sense why he was good at bass.

  22. Changing it to 1 won't give you better latency on a normal set up. I have heard at least 1 person claiming it makes a difference on an audio interface with ASIO drivers, but can't confirm better latency. I can, however tell you that changing from 2 to 1 when using an interface can cause audio distortion.

  23. Definitely hitting a wall on this one. I've gotten better at it and I can play each part with 100% accuracy most of the time but putting all of it together is out of my reach for this week

  24. Sorry, the song from Wilki seemed to me to be on the border between beginner and intermediate, but I see that I rated it too low and the participants had problems with it. I will raise the rating to 4. Class improvements

  25. If anyone is interested in the song format I'm using, there are a couple of github repositories to look at. First, the song format (as defined by some C# classes designed to be serialized/deserialized): https://github.com/mikeoliphant/OpenSongChart Second, here are libraries/tools I'm working on to convert existing Rocksmith charts: https://github.com/mikeoliphant/PsarcUtil

  26. And with today's news, add bullet point: You won't even be able to buy Rocksmith a month from now.

  27. Some of the issues I have with Rocksmith: Even modded, it takes forever to load. It frequently has trouble connecting to Ubisoft servers. The user interface is slow and clunky. You can't play with your own custom guitar tone plugins. It is a proprietary ecosystem. Custom songs help, but they are still tied to the Rocksmith platform. Official DLC is being delisted as licenses expire. Overall, my feeling is that the custom song community would be better off if it wasn't tied to a now abandoned commercial product.
