  1. Forgot about Watch Dogs. I really can't understand publishers that fail to be prepared for online traffic when games are released. There should be no excuse for it these days tbh.
  2. First record I bought was Michael Jackson's Off The Wall. A bit frightening and sad when you look at that LP cover and compare how he looked then to how he looked during the later periods of his life. That was one messed up but talented bloke.
  3. I don't think a European nation has much of a chance because of the heat and humidity over there. I only put a quid on Holland because I always do for European and World championships. They've always had, on paper, a top class side with top class players but always fall apart - usually due to in-fighting. The fact that they've only ever won one trophy in their entire history is ridiculous...so I always put a quid on because they HAVE to win something at some point lol :-P  Really looking forward to it starting because of my new telly though. I've got a 37" one at the moment which I've been VERY happy with during the last 5 years or so but I just couldn't resist getting this 50" one at such a good price. I'll post a link to it later just in case anyone else wants to take the plunge. May is always the best time to buy a new telly because retailers want to clear their 2014 models from shelves in preparation for their 2015 models coming in. Edit: Here it is. There's a code you can use to give you £20 off too but I can't see it on the site now so maybe it's expired. It's not going to be the best telly in the world but I've been very impressed by my InspRED 37" one I got from Sainsburys years ago so thought I'd take the plunge. The only problem with it as far as I've read from reviews is that the sound isn't great but that's easily solved by getting a cheap soundbar or using speakers through the headphone socket.
  4. Am surprised that someone hasn't started one of these already! We're almost there!!! Have ordered a 50" telly from Tesco for £329.99 and put a few Outright Win bets on: Columbia £1 at 25/1 Uruguay £1 at 25/1 Netherlands £1 at 25/1 Costa Rica 50p at 2500/1 lol  A bit of a waste of £3.50 cos everyone knows that England are gonna win it :-P but I never bet on England or Manchester United because I'm the Kiss Of Death lol. So who do you think is going to win it..? Brazil and Argentina are obviously in for a very good shout.
  5. Woah! That time went quick! Thought it had been longer than that. Over 4000 songs in such a short timespan is ridiculous!!! Great stuff, many thanks to everyone involved. Brilliant!
  6. It basically uses a program to flood shitloads of visits to a site at the same time so that the server gets so busy that it denies access to the site to others.
  7. Buggering flip, I was only joking when I mentioned another 1000 songs before the end of the month but it looks like we're almost there!!!
  8. Got it sorted this morning thanks to a thread on the official Rocksmith forum about Amplitube. Just had to disable and then enable my PC speakers whilst Rock Prodigy was running then quit and restart. Problem solved!
  9. Anyone else having a problem with garbled sound..? Have contacted the support people but if anyone here can help me out before they get in touch I'd be very grateful! Had the same problem with Amplitude too and couldn't be bothered so uninstalled it but I'd quite like to give Rock Prodigy a go and see how it is.
  10. Love the avatar robage12, the Cookie Monster is awesome! Got myself a t-shirt with the Cookie Monster as a big blue furry Incredible Hulk and 'COOKIES' written underneath it lol
  11. I think you'll find this thread handy, particularly the first video. I also found another video I can add to the thread the other day and will post it soon. Edit: Have now added it. The first one and the last one are the two most important imo
  12. Too late for me, my hearing is well and truly fucked lol. I worked in a biker's pub for over 10 years. They had bands playing 3 nights per week and when there weren't any bands on the jukebox was turned up to 11. And if that wasn't bad enough I was also in a couple of bands around that time too. I was working behind the bar for anywhere between 40 and 60 hours per week and had an hour or two per week in a rehearsal studio plus the odd gig here and there. As a result of all that I'm slightly deaf in my left ear and have tinnitus in both and when watching the telly I need to have subtitles on or the volume turned up, and also lip read when talking to people. But that's all a part of rock 'n' roll imo lol
  13. Alternatively you could always abduct the guitarist you most like to play like, abduct a surgeon. Force the surgeon to chop off your hands, chop off the guitarist's hands and sew his onto your wrists and yours onto his wrists. Although if you do that you'll probably have to kill them both and dispose of their bodies, the idea of the surgeon continuing to work on sewing your hands onto the guitarist's wrists is just to lull him into a false sense of security before you land the killing blow. Did I mention those voices I hear in my head..?  :-P
  14. Electro-Harmonix pedals are amazing. I REALLY want to get hold of the HOG2, Ravish Sitar and Superego pedals but haven't got anywhere near the cash for even 1 out of 3.
  15. The rumour is that he's had a stroke. I guess all those years of touring have taken their toll unfortunately.
  16. Same as with anything, start off slow and play with a metronome. As you get comfortable at that speed increase it gradually. As otis has said above you can start off playing all 4 frets to begin with and then mix it up a little once you have 4 frets nailed. I'd recommend doing 4 frets first then switching to the chromatic scale (which plays all 12 notes). You play the first 4 notes on string 6 then stretch your index finger to the fret above on string 5 to play 5th note, then shift your index finger back down to play 6-9. Then continue to do that for strings 4 to 1. When going up the scale play the 1-4 notes on string 1 and for the next 5 notes shift your pinky finger down to play the fret below on string 2 and then back up to play the next 4 notes and do the same for strings 3 to 6. Hope that makes sense, I'm not very good at explaining things! The important thing is to start off slow with a metronome keeping time and increase the speed as you go along. Don't be tempted to start off too fast!
  17. Sounds like you'd benefit from a setup as others have said. It's very easy to do as long as you don't have a floating bridge, there are plenty of videos on YouTube showing you how to do it but if you're not confident enough to do it yourself it's pretty cheap (around £40) to get it done by a professional. A lot of guitarists are real slobs when it comes to cheap guitars, it's almost as if they've completely forgotten how serviceable their cheap guitars were before they bought their expensive one.
  18. Was still 2 songs left to go when I posted that but seeing as we've now gone over it you won't get fired...yet! I want another 1000 songs before the end of next month!!! :-P  Edit: Blimey, have just seen that we've almost got 20,000 members now too. Great going!
  19. Well I think you all deserve the sack for not reaching 3000 yet!!! :-P
  20. A fantastic songwriter but I've always found it odd that everyone does his covers better than his originals imo. Unless it's just me..? :???: I think it's down to his singing, perhaps..?
  21. I was trying to think of a funny alternative but my mind has gone blank lol
  22. If you want cheap strings then I highly recommend you get some Harley Benton Value Strings from Thomann.de if you live in Europe. They're 78p per set. They're not the best strings in the world for obvious reasons but they sound pretty good. They lose their tone quicker than more expensive brands so if you change your regular brand strings once per month you'll probably want to change them every week or two but at that ridiculously cheap price it really isn't a problem. Not too sure if they deliver outside Europe though.
  23. Just because I'm nosey...but too lazy to click on Search every time lol Just as a reference really.
  24. Oh right, didn't realise that. Is there any chance of having that on the front page though..? Just to save the hassle of going to the Search page every time you want to see the total.
