  1. Mikson thank you for checking it out and creating the chart for this tune. i did have to record the video a bunch of times for this song and to get the tone sounding close to zakk (switching between clean and distortion and then adding wah & delays to the lead tone) and get the changes right and hence got to play the solo a few times before i got the right take for video. yes thats how it works! I am using a helix pedal to get my tones, have a few patches that need to be tweaked slightly for songs like these and I send clean signal thru RTC to PC to get good recognition. I am gonna take this moment to dive further into the history of my RS journey: i had briefly dabbled with RS on and off since it first came out in 2011 but never got into it due to audio latency on xbox and limited music selection, then i discovered CDLC's and twitch RS community in 2021 and got interested in learning to sightread as i saw other ppl do it proficiently. Due to Covid and some other reasons my band was on a hiatus and this was perfect to focus all my efforts on getting better at RS through streaming as I missed the live aspect of playing in the band. a year and a half later i was a little burnt out after 1000 plus hrs of streaming RS, and in 2023 I discovered this great RSC community with all of u wonderful ppl and it motivated me to play more and discover new music along the way, but i was missing the performance aspect. i have less time to stream now so makes sense for me to upload vids on YT which gives me the feeling of playing live & RSC gives me ideas for what to play. I appreciate all of u who are a part of this community & who make it happen week after week. my band is still inactive we need to record our album at some point lol... thank u if u read this far... keep on rocking!

  2. I haven't played the rhythm one yet, but the Lead one has similar things happening, with like 5-7-10 which I can reach with index, middle, pinky but 3-5-9 is definitely impossible for me too. My guess is that either the guitar players really have huge hands or they play it differently from the transcription and 3-5-9 is 3-5-x-4 instead skipping the D string, which would go for most other big reaches as well. I'm advanced and suck at it too. It looks quite learnable to me and compared to my rank up song and other similar songs in that score range I think 5.5/6 is a good score - Just sometimes songs have arpeggios/patterns that we have to learn first but then they get easy Any intermediate player who is able to get 99%+ this week definitely belongs to advanced I think. I can't tell if it should be in int or adv. But maybe a song like this is perfect to be in both categories at once? So both classes can compete in it (Might be a good idea for more songs in the future toothat have scores like that too - I'm not tempted too much to grind a good score at a class that's lower than my own) One caveat might be that I don't know how Rodman's Ratings would be affected by this, but in general if it's 5.5 it should be still good for adv. bonus as well? ---- For me, I should probably nail the Backstreet boys song well and it'd be good practice. But I'm so tempted on focusing on the MC song instead because that solo looks like a great challenge that's learnable (Maybe not quick enough in a couple of days but we'll see) === First plays of the week

  5. I agree that it is tougher than expected for an intermediate song. The end for me is more in line with the intermediate level but the arpeggiated intro with the chord change from F# to the full voiced D major (C chord shape of CAGED) is super tough. I might try it with a different guitar as well. Once you have that chord change down with the picking pattern it should be a 90+ for me hopefully. Anyway, a very good challenge for my first intermediate attempt.

  6. @ RaZrShReD I'm glad you liked it. When creating this CDLC, I used tabs from UG, but this tab was split into several guitar tracks, so for the lead path in RS I created something like a mix of these tracks (acoustic verse + chorus, riff and solo parts), but I modified the acoustic parts to have more solo notes, and left whole chords on the rhythm path. Ultimately, I am satisfied with the final result @ avastreg Do you mean volume of the tones? Tones are definitely ok because I spent some time on them and used the right tones for the different parts - acoustic for the verse and chorus, reverb with overdrive for the riff and wah for the solo. It sounds very good to me. Only the acoustic can be too quiet, I usually have a problem with this in RS, because when the acoustic tone is too loud it sounds worse, so I try to balance it. Other lead scores I thought Backstreet Boys in RS wtf? But then I played it and it turned out to be really fun to play

  11. yes i enjoyed playing this chart. always fascinated by the process of RS chart creation, thanks for sharing! its a bit annoying when lead charts are missing some parts or not playing the parts u want to play ... i guess some people dont always combine different paths in UG tabs... ur work is greatly appreciated!

  12. What kind of fingers do you need to play this?? 3-5-7 chords well k, this works out somehow, but 3-5-9 ?!?

  15. Tough call. As you mention, once you get the main picking pattern down scores should jump up (since the bulk of the song is the same pattern).

  16. Improvements (and the right version of BsB ) I don't know if it's my resilience or some notes not getting recognized... But through the comments discovered and tried RSMods, so I'm using the mod to show the note played and see if it helps And many thanks to all the community for the hard work , dedication and good vibes

  19. I see that almost everyone thinks the Backstreet Boys song is rated too low. I think this should be a 6, just like the Red Fang song, but here it's easier to achieve higher accuracy here with a repeating chart. Question mainly for intermediate players? Do you want these songs switched in classes int/adv or should they stay where? If switched, then no later than today.

  20. True. But I'm gonna check with a metronome to make sure

  24. @ Mikson I think most find a few tones they like and stick to them like a distortion a clean sound. I am sure I remember someone saying you can use a pedal to change these also ??

  25. Here are my first results: Had some trouble importing a few songs (my PC has had some issues but some songs always end up corrupted). Fortunately the new song from Pearl Jam imported Ok Hadn't heard from East 17 in more than 20 years. Really liked the piano from the songs.

  28. @ Fokkonius which AV are you using? A new version of the installer has been deployed today which should only trigger MalwareBytes AV (and about 5 others far less common AV). Sadly not all AV allow for an easy process to get our file to be verified as safe by their system but we are trying to get as many as we can.

  29. It has come to staff's attention that there is some ambiguity about our position on customs of delisted oDLC being uploaded to Ignition. To clarify in no uncertain terms: they will be treated the same as past delisted content, namely the RS1 songs that were never brought forward into 2014. Covers of delisted songs and live performances of delisted songs may be allowed at staff's sole discretion and charts of covers/live performances uploaded to Ignition without staff permission may be deleted at any time without notice to the charter. Discussion of how to obtain delisted oDLC runs afoul of our anti-piracy rules. Discussing it on the forums or the Discord may lead to immediate suspension of your access to the forums/Ignition/Discord server for an indefinite period of time. Our response to piracy discussion has not changed in the aftermath of delists, nor has our position on the matter. Ban times are decided at staff discretion. Uploading delisted content to Ignition may result in a permanent ban on your account and any subsequent account created on the site thereafter.

  30. For any comment regarding the content, please do it here : Last Edition the 27th of June 2023 I.Software 1. Editor On Fire (EOF) It is the core of where the magic happens, it was created as a companion to Frets On Fire quite some time ago to allow users to create their own charts and has evolved a lot since then to allow the creation of compatible customs songs for the Guitar Hero games, Phase Shift, Bandfuse, Rock Band and of course Rocksmith and Rocksmith 2014 Remastered or not. You can find this software over at : https://ignition4.customsforge.com/eof (You will need full release + hotfix) 2. DLC Builder Without it, things would be a bit more complicated, it automates the whole packaging process and creates all of the files that are needed for Rocksmith to be able to read and play everything according to plan. It involves a lot to properly translate the files from EOF to the proper file format that Rocksmith can then interpret correctly. It also add Dynamic Difficulty as well as some quality check and is the place to manage tones. You can find this software over at : https://github.com/iminashi/Rocksmith2014.NET/releases 3. WWise Rocksmith uses the WWise file format for reading and navigating through audio files, so we will need it to convert our OGG files to the WEM format. Luckily the DLC Builder does it all on his own properly but we still need to have the software to do the encoding (like you would need the Lame encoder to encode in MP3). You can download the 2021 installer from here : https://ignition4.customsforge.com/tools/wwise The DLC Builder support WWise 2019 and 2021. 4. Other tools that can be quite useful a. Vocals synchronisation I would suggest using Ultra Star Creator because it has a practical interface and it allows you to quickly and simply sync vocals to the audio and then import them without any issues into EOF : https://sourceforge.net/projects/usc/ An alternate lyrics editor that offer a more visual approach is YASS though it is suggested to work from an existing MIDI file that has the vocal melody : https://yass-along.com/ You can also find existing lyrics file from the UltraStar Database (free account is required) : https://usdb.animux.de/ b. Guitar tab editing software I personally use Guitar Pro to edit and make adjustments to the tab that I will later import into EOF, but EOF can edit the tab too. I just find most parts of the tab editing process to be easier in Guitar Pro than in EOF. That is really a personal matter and I won’t talk about how to use Guitar Pro or Tux Guitar (for those who prefer a free Linux compatible tab editor in this whole tutorial. Just be aware that TUX doesn't correctly export the special techniques that Rocksmith can use the same way Guitar Pro does, meaning you'll have to add them in manually within EOF). I still prefer that people know they can use a different tool to do part of the tab editing, instead of being locked in a software they might not find practical. http://www.tuxguitar.com.ar/ https://www.guitar-pro.com/
