  3. Here we go for another week........ weapons cleaned and ready for battle. first tries on ADV R & B having A5 recognition issues........ Having fingers won't go were I want them issues...... I'll have a go at the other song in my class at a later date as my guitars hate the D tuning, plus i think i have enough to work on in this song.

  4. So not a 3, guess will try Intermediate now. Though I'd say that solo part sound much different from what he actually plays and probably much easier.

  5. So, Make Dame Sure had F#3, open A+B chrod and riffs 10-11 which are simple at glance but not due to speed. Brand New Kind of Blue had barre chords, reverse double stops were you had not to mute lower string and intro riff which can be a bit speedy. King of Fools had what? Hammer-on chrods and pinch harmonics. Pinch harmonics Carl, doubt many beginners can actually pull them off, RockSmith ability to tell it aside. So tell me again how ATWA here is 3? I'd 93% it in 15 minutes...

  6. First time playing these songs, all on LAS mode. 1. Insomnium - Winter's Gate I (3) - definitely not a beginner song. It's boring and tiring, goes too fast for no reason. I generally like Death Metal but this just went through my ears and didn't remember any of the melody or bass line. Played mostly 8ths and Rocksmith didn't care. Will skip it this week. 2. Thrice - Black Honey (5) This one should have been the beginner level. It's ok... I only like one of their songs and it's not the one :) Check out Beltsville Crucible. Any masterclass guitarists who can play the intro? :) 3. Steven Wilson - Hand Cannot Erase (6) Also pretty easy except the solo part. Doable at my level, so will focus on this. I wish it the bass line would start sooner than 3 minute mark though. 4. Metallica - Orion (9). Tried this for giggles. Most of the song is easy and even the bass solo... well, I'll try :) there is something wrong with the tones though, the beginning sounds like shit.

I'm going to try the IM one next, but I want a first place beginners badge dang it! edit: and just to let everyone know. The main DL link for Orion has been taken down by mega, use the backup links that go to Dropbox.

  8. So I'm not going to lie: This week was SUPER rigged. Normally we roll randomly to see who gets a pick each week, but nobody else could and I had to cover... so I put one together quickly out of customs I knew were good offhand so I didn't have to test. Hope people enjoy these Gamut picks. I noticed we had somehow never played any Steven Wilson in the CS, somehow, and so I have riggedly fixed this with the title track of a really breathtaking album. Sometimes higher class players want to play songs that aren't their class, even it's they aren't competing there. :D Like this! Really fun riffs in this one. Nothing too crazy for our Adv players, yet keeps you on your toes.

  10. Hi, folks. I'll be using this thread to maintain the latest versions of EOF in one place. To start, download and extract EOF 1.8RC12: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ih70h6p67iy77ka/eof1.8RC12.zip You can keep that zip file handy to avoid downloading it more than once. When I release a new hotfix, all you have to do is replace the files from the above zip file with the ones from the hotfix. The latest hotfix (9-26-2020) is here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/6xzg32k4a9gqwxs/eof_hotfix_%289-26-2020_4%29.zip/file *If you use a non QWERTY US English keyboard layout, and keyboard controls/shortcuts aren't working for you, please make a post describing what keyboard shortcuts aren't working, and what the Info panel says the "CODE" and "ASCII" values are after you use each of the keyboard controls in question. I can make Mac releases and will try to post one with each Windows release, but my ability to do so is sometimes limited. If I don't get around to releasing a Mac build you want, just remind me to do so. The latest Mac build (9-26-2020) is here: http://ignition.customsforge.com/eof/download/487 Unless you have oggenc and LAME installed (these don't come with the Mac build for licensing reasons), you won't be able to have EOF automatically convert from MP3 to OGG when you create a new chart. If you have trouble getting those set up on your system, here is a package that should get them installed and usable by EOF: http://www.t3-i.com/apps/eof/downloads/eof_utilities.pkg Please provide any and all feedback, including bugs and feature requests. If possible, also please review the included documentation (manual, tutorials) and let me know if you find any room for improvement there. Eventually I plan to add a Rocksmith authoring section to the pro guitar tutorial, but the community's knowledge of the Rocksmith songs' makeup changes pretty quickly so it's hard to know when particular features are considered fully known. For any features that ARE fully known (like anchors), please feel free to remind me if they aren't incorporated into EOF yet, in case I missed any information being passed around on this forum or the Google group. Note: If you are reporting a bug, please specify which hotfix (date) you're using. I release hotfixes on a somewhat random schedule, sometimes more than once per day, so the issue being reported may have been fixed in a release you haven't tried yet.

  13. NEW INT LEAD: Graveyard - Submarine Blues (D Standard) (as played on Week 171)
    1 point
  14. As a result of the whole rushing them out thing, the difficulty scores might be little less accurate than usual this week. Whether Atwa is a 2 or a 3 depends largely on whether you're talking about difficulty scoring 100% accuracy, or difficulty 100% emulating the sound in the song. That main riff has very specific dynamics that a beginner is going to have a hard time pulling off, but Rocksmith doesn't care at all what dynamics you play it with. (There is also a minor charting error, as both strings should be ringing at the same time... but again, this is not a thing Rocksmith is going to give you misses for.) Insomnium, on the other hand... I am sorry I did this to you, Int Lead players!! :persevere: Winter's Gate I is most definitely not a 5. I'd even call it a high 6 with that verse riff. Replacement Int lead coming up in a sec.

  17. It is an aquired taste. I could not stand them once too. In fact, they made me uneasy, because of the raw emotion they can convey. Nowadays I prefer them over clean singing. But I also changed from a caring social worker type to a man ready to kill to protect his family. ;) In this vein, Insomnium, first tries As the play count betrays, I have actually played this before. 25. I'm not sure what stage your at but if your a beginner, like me. I would recommend spending a bunch of time on the arcade game string skipping saloon. I spent 20 hours doing almost solely this, id listen to a podcast (Joe Rogan) turn the game sounds low and just play over and over. I sucked at first but couple of weeks later i scored in the top 1% of players and i saw massive improvements in playing riffs which change strings frequently. I would then recommend joining the Rocksmith Championship on here, they put up new songs each week for lead beginner, int, advanced and master. Compete and work on that song throughout the week, you should be able to do alright with repeated practise and riff repeating the parts that are tougher for you. I've actually now progressed to lead Int :) . Then Generally just keep practising, i'm far from good, but i do feel like i'm making progress. I've only been taking learning seriously for a couple of months tops.
