  1. Hello everyone, long time no see :D I haven't participated in the championchip in years :o And it's good to be back  To kick this off, i'll just add those: I played Altitudes just for fun ;) The Bass one was great fun! Took only 3 attempts, but really nice to play. My Johnny B. will properbly improve in the coming days. And once again, I'm really happy that this championchip is still going! It's great to see what this has become since the first weeks. A massive thanks to everyone who is keeping this allive!!!

I also gave MC a go since I've been trying to learn to play slap lately......an attempt was made, let's just leave it at that! I'll probably work on it this week though since ADV is really INT ;) :P

  8. I've played other Metric songs before, but both songs are new to me and can't post a previous score. The French song has some challenging bends and I start with a 88% - I've played it with another guitar and I'm not sure if it's me with crappy playing :D or something else which causes recognition issues. At the end I recalibrated - the sound vlolume has been adjusted to 7.2db (it was at 4.2db) and maybe it was too low. I guess that the battery is almost empty and I'll see if I get into the 90% after replacing it - if not it's skill related ;) But enough lame excuses :P Excellent scores posted by @@MaZtoR, @@SirKoolaid and @@Rodman http://i1057.photobucket.com/albums/t384/papillon-pb/championship/championship2014/Bildschirmfoto%202017-03-19%20um%2022.20.03_zpshfqifjd7.png http://i1057.photobucket.com/albums/t384/papillon-pb/championship/championship2014/Bildschirmfoto%202017-03-21%20um%2000.30.29_zpshq4iudxa.png

  16. If you find Johnny B. Goode to be too easy on bass, try No Particular Place to Go, also by Chuck Berry. It has a lot of string skipping which is kicking by butt. I'm still struggling in RR at 75% speed.

I've been in a freezing cold rehearsal room today and only now are my hands starting to defrost. Never go to a budget based rehearsal room. We played stuff. Some sounded not bad :) I heard myself sing... that bit was awful

I wondered when this week was going to come up. I did get a 95% on the Supergroove, but I don't count it as I cheated. I got fed up with trying to slap and pop half way through and reverted to playing fingerstyle. I mean, I might as well play with a pick.

  33. Another trick to try, if you have the money to spare, is get a bass and horse around with it for a while. I wanted to play bass, started with it and now fool around some with baritone and the occasional regular guitar, but it gives you something to work up with. Especially since if you play bass, it gives you a mechanical advantage in going to guitar, namely guitars are much smaller and have little delicate strings. I can reach 7-8 frets on a guitar and bend a tone and a half if I want to. There's no way I could physically do anything like that after only a year and a half only playing guitar. And who knows, you might get the short straw setting up a band and be stuck playing bass. ;) Just kidding. Bass is a very different instrument, musically, but it is much easier to get into playing cool songs on bass, as long as you're not a huge fan of Rush or Dream Theater. Both of those groups are ... well, Geddy Lee is why I play bass.

  34. Hi Ovoid :) 99.9% of learning to play is playing!IStarted with Rs1 when it 1st came out.I played years ago&only knew bits, beginings&the odd reconisable rift,I wanted to play a track not bits!I tryed&tryed with tabulature, listen to (back then)records of tracks i wonted to learn trying to get the right rythum by following the tabulature&listen to the records(lifting the stylus&putting it back again&again lol),some friends also used to show me bits! The frustration of not being able to link tabulature&listening to the tracks together got the better of me&i stopped playing!I still had that wish to be able to play&1 day i decided to look into getting guitar hero to see if that could help me develop my rythum&therfore help me with playing a real guitar! This is when i found Rocksmith!I started looking on ebay for a cheap guitar!I found&won an Epiphone SG400 Pro,i went to game station the next day&bought Rocksmith, jump on the train to London, payed&collected my SG,got home put RS on(xbox 360 then)started playing(after going through the setup ect)the recommended tracks,Rolling Stone's-(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction&Black Keys-Next Girl, obviously being a beginner the DD was on!Sat there single notes twang-twang-twang got more notes twing-twang-twang-twing,tryed some other tracks(there wasn't many tracks i knew or even licked!)again twang-twang-twang!Puff don't think much of this!aint what i was expecting, aint as good as i thought it was going to be!I was disappointed with it but i kept at it cose my passion to be able to play was greater than my disappointment!I found tracks that i could get more&more notes(even tho i didnt perticulary like them)like The Cure-Boys don't Cry,2 top strings mostly!built this track up to all notes(ha im getting somewere!)tryed harder tracks that were way out my skill set(Avenge Sevenfold)but found there were parts of the tracks i was getting! Then i got Rs on pc found Smithy Anvil(which was the cdlc site before this 1)got cdlc's to play,i found Metallica-Am I Evil downloaded it played it&WOW!i played it better than i could ever had emagine!that was a massive turning point in my ability to play!I download tracks now&i have to put all notes in(if they have DD)to be able to play them anywere close! That is my experiance with Rs&i can now see that all the twinging&twanging in the beginning was wurth it!The slow buildup of notes help you move around the fret board, get familiar with positioning your fingers on certain fret's or strings untill you automaticilly position you finger on the 5th fret 4th string&slide to the 9th or power chord the 6th&5th strings on the 3rd&5th fret&jump to the 5th&4th string on the 7th&9th fret!Keep a it!IT WILL!come in the end if you really wont it to,as you get more familiar with the fret board you will start to learn different technics, palm mutting ect! Then 1 day you will find that you can play(like me not brilliant, but you can)&then tracks you play WILL!start sounding better the more you Play!Hope this give's you the incouregment to continue! :)These people are very helpfull https://www.facebook.com/groups/801980203218983/?ref=bookmarks

  38. 1. Prepairing: 1. Workload directory: Let's start by setting our workload directory. I suggest using the following structure: --C:--/ ------/--MyRS14Customs--/ ------/-----------------/----Working---/ ------/-----------------/-----Tools----/ ------/-----------------/--------------/---RST---/ ------/-----------------/--------------/---EoF---/ ------/-----------------/--Installers--/ ------/-----------------/--------------/---RST---/ ------/-----------------/--------------/---EoF---/ ------/-----------------/--------------/--WWise--/ falecomroberto has made a script for creating this directory structure: Copy this text to notepad, save it to a file named "CreateDirs.bat" and then run it: MKDIR C:\MyRS14Customs MKDIR C:\MyRS14Customs\Working MKDIR C:\MyRS14Customs\Working\RST MKDIR C:\MyRS14Customs\Working\EoF MKDIR C:\MyRS14Customs\Installers\RST MKDIR C:\MyRS14Customs\Installers\EoF MKDIR C:\MyRS14Customs\Installers\WWiseBy using the same directory structure and versions of the tools, you will make it much easier to help you because we will be working in the same environment! Since we've got that squared away, let's proceed to: 2. Tools: You will need basicaly 4 tools to create customs: 7zip - This is a free zip, rar, 7z and other format packer and unpacker. Grab it from http://www.7-zip.org/download.html and install it. RSToolkit - Go to: http://www.rscustom.net/ and grab the latest release build. Currently it's 2.5.0.0 (rev 25199c63). Download it to: C:\MyRS14Customs\Installers\RST like in the screenshot below: http://i.imgur.com/fwoZhPl.png then Right-Click on the file and choose: "7-zip" -> "Extract files..." and in the new window paste the file path: "C:\MyRS14Customs\Tools\RST" as in screenshot below: http://i.imgur.com/mQrsurV.png and you're basically done with preparing this tool. EoF - Navigate to: http://customsforge.com/forum/54-editor-on-fire/ where you can find the latest version (which as of this writing is: EOF 1.8RC9(r1296)) and save this file to: "C:\MyRS14Customs\Installers\EoF". But that's not all. You'll also need to apply the most recent hotfix, which you can also find updated in the thread linked above. This may be updated daily so you will have to track this thread to have the most recent version (currently the most recent hotfix is: r1299). So, go ahead and download it to the same folder: "C:MyRS14CustomsInstallersEoF". You will end up with two files as per this screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/fJJVB5O.png Now, you need to extract the program, so Right-Click on the "eof1.8RC9(r1296).zip" file and again select: "7-zip" -> "Extract files..." and, into the new window, paste the following path: "C:\MyRS14Customs\Tools\EoF". Do the same for the "eof.exe(r1299).zip" (hotfix file). You will end up with a subdirectory and a file: http://i.imgur.com/orRzc0J.png Then you simply move the .exe file to that subdirectory "C:\MyRS14Customs\Tools\EoF\eof1.8RC9(r1296)" and overwrite/replace the existing .exe! If you're not getting a replace confirmation window, then you're doing something wrong. Check your paths. But if you have overwritten it then you're ready to go to the next step! WWise - first thing is that you need to register to download that tool. Without registering I was only able to download the Authoring binaries standalone. So, go ahead, and register, download and install the WWise to your default directory, mine was: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Audiokinetic"
