  1. The nice thing about high variance tracks is that sometimes you have big breakthroughs. http://i.imgur.com/TUhvj5s.jpg And a bonus screenshot of my phrase status. I keep screwing up the little slidey bit on the high e string for some reason and slide to the 15th fret rather than the 16th, so that should be an easy place to cut out a few misses. The middle octave chords thing I forgot to go to the 10th fret so picked up a couple unnecessary misses there. Also felt like I butchered the last solo a bit more than I usually do. With a bit more practice I think I can hit 94% on this (~8 fewer misses). Might be able to do more by the end of the week if I find time to just keep drilling myself on these solos during the week. I'm coming for you, @@then3verend...

Definitely not my kind of music but I like the different style of bass. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=603119491 And this one is probably my proudest moment so far on Rocksmith. This is the first time I manage to complete HSA on Mr. Big! Yeaaah!!! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=603147383 And I still gots 5 days to improve! L

  9. I decided to play the stupid chord like a E7 with the open e , Rocksmith accepts it really good and my ears think it sounds fine that way. I still don't really know what my plucking hand is doing on that arpeggio bit. But my fret hand pinky could not handle that much RR before it got tired. So i went with a slow strum that feels wrong, I'm going to find a better way later. http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k228/maztor42/Rocksmith%20championship%202014/Mr.%20Big%209082_zpsum9yuc8c.jpg

  14. Some guitar playthroughs. Adv lead: http://i.imgur.com/QO23mA1.jpgThe chord's pretty awkward, but I'm OK at getting RS to recognize it. Spazzy picking hand strikes again during the arpeggio part (for what it's worth, I mostly downpicked everything given the string order). Some of the pitched slides during the arpeggio section don't make sense given the hand positions (finger 1 position to finger 3 position) and probably should be unpitched anyway. MC rhythm: http://i.imgur.com/McgEZTU.jpg MC lead: http://i.imgur.com/m3Xvr9v.jpg So, this was actually on my first playthrough, and since then despite lots of RR (especially on that big solo run based around the whole/half diminished scale) but haven't been able to improve. I think a lot of that's because the lead parts are (for me) of extremely high variance. Even at 80% speed I can go from 4 misses to 25, or at 96% speed (haven't done much practice at full speed yet) I can go from 14 to 40. Some of this comes down to the extreme speed (most of it is at 16th note triplets at 150 bpm, or ~15 notes per second), which neither my picking hand or my fretting hand is used to (fretting hand intensive bass stuff often tops out at 16ths at 180 bpm or so, and even that's pretty rare), some of it's the triplet feel which seems to confuse my picking hand a bit at that speed, some of it's the fretboard positioning and small fret spacing (often a majority of my misses come after it moves exclusively to the e string). Definitely gives me a lot to chew on. I feel like I should be able to make lots of progress on this, but that might only be apparent with the speed in RR that I can hit 100%, rather than showing up in my accuracy percentage at full speed.

  15. First goes and first impressions: http://i.imgur.com/koLkZHR.jpg For some reason, I thought it'd be a great idea to play this song I have never heard before with no guitar audio! Let's just say that performance was anything but dazzling. The chord shapes are all easy but the speed and strumming patterns sure are hard for Intermediate. http://i.imgur.com/fpHDsQe.jpg Solid vocalist, solid tune. Was nailing it, and then suddenly arpeggios. http://i.imgur.com/UT503wu.jpg Video games! I had a blast with Sands of Time back in the day. Mmmm, that tone is delicious. http://i.imgur.com/7KzskAu.jpg I was never a huge David Bowie fan, but I really respected his prowess and his intrepidness to be whatever he wanted to be in a time that was much more judgemental of people who acted atypically. Here's to you, Ziggy. What's most comfortable for me is index on G string, middle barring A and D, and the other two on the other two. If you've got a buff pinkie, you could bar B/E with it and finger the rest like a standard E major. :muscle:

  17. 1st: How do you guys play a chords like this one? http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k228/maztor42/Rocksmith%20championship%202014/th_Chord_zpscjnllvw1.jpg I cant for the life of me bar the 3rd fret on b and e without muting something else. There is no problem getting note recognition with muted notes or even with leaving either e or b open tho. Sometimes Rocksmith is just a little to lenient. 2nd: How do you strum the long arpeggio part? I did it with all downstrums now but it felt weird and sounded awful even when i hit the right notes. crappy score. I'm hoping for a big improvement on this. http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k228/maztor42/Rocksmith%20championship%202014/Mr.%20Big%2078_zps9qci6s7h.jpg

  21. Could be because the arrangement has the tone set to the default one, as far as I'm aware that freezes the song/game when you start it. Just unpack the file and reimport the arrangements with the toolkit to check if it still has a tone different than the default one assigned to it

  23. First I'd like to thank all of you for contributing to this community, CustomsForge has really improved my guitar skills and is a very polished site. A minor change I would make to the CDLC is including a logout option, since I notice it still keeps you logged in even if you log out of this forums part of the website. I'm rather compulsive about logging out of everything in my browser but again, it's probably not a big deal for most people and may not pose as a huge security risk. Another interesting feature would be updated track notifications. I have been receiving emails for comments made on each track, but it would be more helpful if I am notified of an important version change and for the creator to be aware if the link is broken. Rock on, KingShredder5

  24. I bar across the A and D with my second finger then first finger on the G and third and fourth on B and e. Don't get it every time but RS doesn't seem to care Alternatively you could play it the way I just described but just mute the D string and play the low E as they're the same note an octave apart. That doesn't help on this situation with Rocksmith but whatever ;) EDIT: Serves me right for not reading ahead into the thread, @ just explained the same thing

  25. This chord is an E7#9 and possible but very uncommon in the shown shape. It works like Mortalo said as normal E chord with pinky on the b and e strings, but I never saw it played like this. You need to place evey finger as upright as possible on the strings except the pinky to avoid muting or pressing down the G string. More common and comfortable in this shape is just to omit the A string, but I guess RS won't like this. If you would play the e string open it would be just an E7, but I need to listen first. Another way for the E7#9 in the 6th position, I'll check this later.

  28. First bass playthroughs and comments: Beg: http://i.imgur.com/p8LsH58.jpgMostly root note chugging after the intro, but some nice grooves to keep you focused. Int: http://i.imgur.com/p0bvJ0u.jpgI'd say most of the slides would make more sense as unpitched, but whatever. Not bad for learning the fretboard. Adv: http://i.imgur.com/ren38J3.jpg When I started playing this, I was kind of impressed with how the slides were charted. Then the chorus came, and I absolutely hate how that was charted. Also seemed like the sync was pretty far off in places. Don't think I'll be playing this again. MC: Sightread (in which I screwed up my hand position for a while in the solo), then http://i.imgur.com/Zby8BsZ.jpgI definitely wouldn't say this is a 10. It's not easy, but it's definitely easier than The Lemon Song, from what I remember many people didn't consider that to be quite a 10. I'd put this more in the 8.5-9 range. Anyway, I'll almost be surely adding more sections to the instrumental part of the song. One long section for the bass solo stuff is kind of ridiculous.
