Nice songs, a wide range of very different genres!
And now my poor sightreading in all of its glory
on this one I must look and review the scale, otherwise I can't catch anything well only reading it
song with chords and rhythm are always a blessing
remembering soundgarden vibes
I'm not familiar with this subgerne
Well, it seems that, not matter the difficulty, my sightread caps at 80%

After three 91%'s in a row this morning, I fear I have hit my cap without going into RR. This has been a really fun song to play all week. I usually don't put so much effort into one song lol. It has been added to my favorites rotation for sure!
lol I RRed this song to death
I wanted to pay the right tribute to Ayreon (it's just that Galneyrus got in the way until now), and now I'm satisfied

@ Mikson that galneyrus rhythm score is a very good perfomance! That song is hard as hell!!

nice chilly song

I spent at least 3 hours on this song this week, but I'm never tired of it! And I got in the 85-90 range (from 67%!), my declared goal. It's also a workout, not only a song
Solo is too long for me, if I had a couple weeks I can learn it, but I'm not so good at sightreading it so I give up
Also good gains in rhythm
ah, this song was part of my teen years, easy but I always liked it, with that deep distortion cut in the medium range.

every % point is so hard to get! I'm lost in the solo

Second attempt, just so I can procrastinate on learning the mc song a bit longer. Last time Galneryus was on here it gave me ptsd.
I don't find it hard to believe, I'm one hour in RR Galneryus and I'm sooo far from getting good

better
For those who don't know it Ayreon is a individual project, and the composer is a multi instrumentalist born keyboardist (this is why there are keyboard/synth solos)
I played the rhythm version a lot in the past, I find it very funny to play.

thanks @ Mikson for doing a selection and not a capo with such short time! great job
I love Ayreon, and this song has a very nice atmosphere, rhythm, and melody
I will get this to at least 95 to pay my respects!
What a song!! Power/epic metal is where I'm at home, and this is near.
Super cool, super tight, very difficult. I will definitely put the time to RR if I find it
As always my sightreading with fast songs is horrendous, so the score, but I think I can get in the 85-90 range

Yeah, I found a one that I can live with and I use it on almost everything with even a hint of distortion. In most cases it's an improvement over the tone included with the song imo.
this is a good suggestion but the problem is when you have clean and distortion alternating... do you have a footpedal or something like that? do you quickly press on keyboard/joypad to change the tone?
I only have an audio interface at the moment, no amp o ABY or something else

To be honest, I haven't tested the bass path in this song. I tested the guitar parts a long time ago and bass rating was done by @ jellisjenius and I chose this because I know he does rather good bass difficulty ratings.
And I think as @ It Happens1 wrote you can add +5 frets and go a string higher (in Rosksmith view). Then it should be much easier, and from what I can see in the screen, there is plenty of time to prepare to play the chord.I tested both guitar and bass part for a previous selection but didn't noticed it (I think I'm biased by emulating the bass with the guitar, so maybe it's because of that)
improved mc lead

ok now I've paid my tribute!
I agree with @ Rodman , the chart is slightly off and there's the long void at the end. Sorry for submitting the sloppy chart I didn't noticed or remember that
PS: this song let me achieve my longest streak ever, I think (thanks to one note palm muting beats).
High scores and streaks even if easy are always good for the mood!

They have a unique style, but I liked more the other championship song some weeks ago ( @ Mikson you probably remember the name of the song)
here there is margin for improvement but the quick slides between power chords are not my best
On one of my favorite Kamelot songs I got 94, for me is unacceptable, I will give it proper attention later in the week

Maybe I can push it to 99%, but 100 is out of reach for me with the note detection on the slides.
@ It Happens1 3 out of 3, your move.
@ avastreg I know that you're busy rn, but pls don't make me wait till Saturday with your scores.
@ coldrampage Where are you?
Yep work, sickness and my child took most of my time
I am RR a bit testament to be competitive, but that's your thing so I doubt to be a challenge this time
- 1
-
ouch I didn't think a 4-chord song with no solo could be so difficult
and I RR repeated it, doing it well till 75%
I will abandon my goal of reaching 97% on Mindtraveller, got no other time to play and my arm is soared from the vaccine puncture done today

my goal is at least 97 for this one!

I'm currently working on a OCR solution, but sadly I'm way off schedule (life gets in the way). I'd be more than happy if you can beat me to it.
As you like, I tried two or three things, and just found a quick low-cost solution that seems to work pretty well on the first tests. I can elaborate if you want.
The longest (and most boring) part is the scraping of the forum, where essentially for a thread I need name and images' links (name/imageurl tuples will be ok) for all the pages of the thread. I know how to do it but it takes a while.
Do you have something already made for that? Also @ kayteck @ Rodman do you know if some machine readable feed of the forum does exist? -

This is very nice vibes. Unfortunately, no hand shapes in the arpeggio parts meant that I didn't know how to play them.
they are essentially basic chords, like A, E, F#, C#7 or 9 (the only one peculiar), F#/D, E and so on
but it's very very fast, a lot of string skipping and with some extra passage notes -

@ avastreg - honor battling with you - obviously you are not on our level - make sure you give those mc monsters a hard time now after your adv vacation.

Thanks, I'm not that far! And advanced is such a great class, always great songs, had a great time!! I started in April. And now let's return to suffer more
I'm grateful for discovering the championship (even unfortunately so late) and how you are so inspiring by carrying on with it over the years with a very slick organization!

Still, 2 out of 3 ain't bad, I'll take it.
Yeah, I don't even compare to Bottledpat. @ nlbsmglsk in reality i'm not even on your level, but I will play the same strategy you have with Bottledpat, i.e. persistence
@ johnal I think we can duel pretty well, if it happens- 2

There is no rhythm path....
sorry I forgot to add that the lead track should be used for rhythm (because it's essentially a rhythm track).
Updated the post -
@ Rodman I checked Falconer's rhythm and yeah it's more difficult because it was transcribed in E standard, so it's a bit of mindfuck when you play lead and then rhythm, because it's the same song but played almost completely in a different way (and the E std version is harder)
PS: I tried Hook's alt rhythm and I think is a good high int bonus, what do you think? Can I add it?

exactly.. i´d recommend dropping In Flames and putting Hook (8.5) mc
Done! I chose to put Hook rhythm as adv bonus because I rated it too low I guess and I needed a rhythm mc

Oh welcome! I'm also on the official song spotlight on reddit (and I remember you!), but here you will find more songs, more people, and I can definitely say a lot of fun!
Rules are a bit complex at first sight, but my advice is to try to play and post scores for a couple of weeks and you'll get it! Look at accuracy, not absolute score (as in the spotlight), post the screenshot pasting the link. Both learn a song and score attack scores are valid (obviously on learn a song with difficulty 100%).
Enjoy!!
