  1. YES! Thank you VERY much! I tested it, and now I am finally able to move my EOF project files back into Dropbox where the rest of my project files are. I had two project folders all the time, which was really frustrating - now that doesn't seem necessary anymore :D
  2. The goal for my first Advanced try was to survive without strikes, and I did it: Advanced Lead: 93.99% http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=380594377 519.000 made me #1 on the score board... are you guys all busy in Master Class?^^ I had a hard time, because most of the bends weren't registered (don't know who's fault that is, though^^)
  3. Might I point you in the direction of this tutorial?
  4. I, too, still prefer the old search. The white theme feels much more comfortable for me, and I can simply view more rows (=titles) on one page. Also Ignition "feels" slower in terms of loading times. Maybe the loading time in both versions is the same, but since it's always darkening and popping up the loading circle for about one second, this second disrupts my view and makes it feel reacting slowly. In the old search it's a seamless transition between two pages. The main new feature I noticed is the "hovering song info window". And I think it is nice because it gives you most of the important information at one glance. But at the moment I only use it to go to the record page, because I cannot "follow" / add to my collection in the windowThe comments are not displayed useful nor easy to read without timestamps and highlighting quotesAs you mentioned, it lacks real new features for sorting and finding new CDLC like genre (although I agree this is super hard to do)quality votingdedicated filters for features like Multitracks, Metronome Bonus Arrangements that go beyond the abilities of standard RocksmithSubscription to (and notification about) artists, albums and even charters who's work we appreciate But afterall, we (I, too) must not forget that it is still in beta. Lots of stuff is being released in beta or "early access" these days and it's a good thing because it gets users involved. But there is always a tendency to take what was released and jugde it like you would judge a final product. So let's look forward to the potential Ignition has :)
  5. #1: The comments there are very badly presented, though: No time stamps, and when people quote each other it gets really confusing. #2: If a charter doesn't tick that box, the entry shouldn't be created in the first place. Instead the charter should be presented an error message like "Starting a CDLC without any tone will break the game. Please add a custom tone before releasing your CDLC to the public" (Although I think this was fixed a while ago in the Toolkit? - Anyway, I don't think this field gives you a valid information about the quality of the tones...) #3: I agree, the auto-subscription should happen on all download buttons/links available, not only on the one in the search list. (And you should be able to select to only receive update notifications, not comments.) Also charters should be auto-subscribed to their own posted CDLC.
  6. Thanks for your work on Vultures, the bars are in sync now. I was able to apply Metronome Bonus Arrangements as well. :) I have to tell you though that in your version a lot of notes are missing, e.g. in the intro / picking parts, as well as in the chord sections (here all the open string chords are missing for example) and the solo. This has happened to me, too, when I was trying to load unpacked psarcs with DD into EOF... the difficulty levels were just messed up. And in your version of Vultures it looks like this could be about 90% difficulty. You'll have to work on that :(
  7. Advanced Rhythm: 96.47% http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=378663620 Gave me a global rank of #31 Bad Country apparently isn't that bad, at least on the Rhythm side^^
  8. Deep bow, m8! May the adv guys kick your ass hard ;) Just spend another year or so in adv and i'll be after you :) Just checked: I left Beginner 32 weeks ago - last year in June. I really did a lot of progress since then! I'm curious how much time I will spend in Advanced :)
  9. Hello everyone! This week I'm really early, because I felt the songs were quite easy (until now): Beginner Lead: 98.7 % http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=378034335 I really like The Offspring, and this song is super fun to play! Intermediate Lead: 98.23% http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=378034527 So, if I am not mistaken, this score means Goodbye! to the comfortable Intermediate class! It's time for others to fight for the first Rank here ;) I have taken a look at Bad Country... this is gonna hurt... probably both in my fingers and emotionally, I will not be used such low scores  Edit: Wow... Bad Country is MC in Lead... and only Advanced in Rhythm... good thing I realized that^^ Have a nice week everyone and keep up the good work!
  10. This^ The number of DD levels has lost it's meaning completely. I have taken the time for my own customs to actually look up the number of levels created by DDC, but there are lots of cases where the charter doesn't know how to or doesn't care and leaves the value at the default "1" If you stick to your "more than one" rule, than you will simply miss most CDLC that have perfectly fine DD with lots of levels! Please don't ever assume that the info "1" means there is actually only one level (if DD is set to "yes")! The number of levels created by Dynamic Difficulty Creator will always be around 5 to 10 I'd say, depending on the complexity of the song. DDC works very very well if the custom is charted properly, and there is just no purpose of knowing whether it has 5, 7 or 9 levels.
  11. Wow, this is great! There are so many songs out there that have well synced notes and beats, but the measures are not in sync with the music! I keep adding Metronome Bonus Arrangements to all the customs I like, but often the metronome is off because the measures are not synced correctly. I always notify the charters about this, but only very few react to that... so since I unpack them anyway to add the metronome, your tool would come in super handy :D Here are a few I have spotted: Muse - Easily: http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/easily-r335The Offspring - Vultures: http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/vultures-r4401Green Day - Holiday (has 6/4 time signature instead of correct 4/4): http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/holiday-r289Elvis Presley- Jailhouse Rock: http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/jailhouse-rock-r1988 someone did a new version, gonna test that one firstJust to be clear, those customs are very well playable and beat-synced correctly. Only the measures are not in sync. Just tell me if you need more songs of this kind...
  12. Well, at some point Ignition could have a feature to either actively share your "collection" or let it be viewed from your profile... Why don't you create a feature request in the Ignition Beta forum to see if others like the idea?
  13. Just found this and changed my .psarc icons with FileTypesMan, very nice :)
  14. I like both the new yellow and black/white designs. Also I do like the idea to indicate the presence of a bonus arrangement on the cover! I can imagine I am missing a lot of those at the moment because I don't know they exist. But I do not think vocals need in indicator. While I care much for vocals and missing vocals always make me sad, they don't affect the gameplay. A Multitrack indicator would be nice. But in order to really make sense, you would need different indicators for "No Lead", "No Rhythm" and "No Bass" multitrack versions. I can't decide for Lead, Rhythm and Bass. On the one hand it is always frustrating to go "Nice song! Now let me check out the Rhythm path..." *15 seconds later, only for pressing CTRL, ARROWS and ESC* ... "No Rhythm? Screw you!" *and change path again*. On the other hand, I'm afraid this is too much information to be coded in colours for everyone to understand / memorize, and / or too much cluttering of the cover.
  15. Or you just post your solution instead! This problem exists in many customs, so maybe others can learn from that ;)
  16. +1 on the idea. Automated integration into the toolkit would be nice. Can you post a non-zoomed version of the first screenshot? I'd like to see how well it is distinguishable in full screen!
  17. This is a great idea! I started with Rocksmith on my western acoustic guitar and was always looking for songs that worked well to play solo and sing along to. The problem I see though, is the recording part. If it is not really really well done, it might become a pain to listen to them. My suggestion is for you to learn how to make a CDLC before doing the recording! Because an intermediate step in your project could be to add the acoustic arrangement as a bonus arrangement to the regular CDLC (just like the combo arrangements on RS1). This might not always work, e.g. if you are changing the structure of the song. But I think in most cases it would be sufficient to play the acoustic version along to the studio recording. Once you are familiar with that, you can start lowering the background music and start playing / singing on your own. Caution, advertisement: You could also add a Metronome to the whole song to make it well playable (helping you to keep up the tempo) without any background music at all. Check out this tutorial for more information on Metronome Bonus Arrangements. Regards, Azrael
  18. I really think you should ask some of the devs... I can change notes to what ever extend I like without RS thinking it is a new CDLC.
  19. One tiny thing: This advice should be treated with care, because I had cases where I did the exact same thing and caused some notes to get out of sync. Those notes where triplets in a very fast solo. In such cases you should set the Grid Snap to some even smaller custom value. Indeed, "Highlight Non Grid Snapped Notes" should always be turned on :)
  20. that's right. But if I change this the stats of the CDLC will be reset? I'm not sure about this, and if new points of tone changes will reset the stats, how can I avoid this? To be honest, I have no idea how you can even manage to make the stats reset! The only sollution I could think of is to make a new Toolkit project for the update, or change the arrangement IDs manually. When I do an update, all I do is overwrite the old REAL_PART_~ files with the new ones in the folder they are in. Then I click "Load Package", select my Toolkit project, change the version number and click generate. How do you do it? If you are unsure, you can just try it, but save the old psarc file in another folder. If the new psarc doesn't have any stats, you can always put the old one back in and your stats should still be there ;) (I think there is no such thing as "resetting" stats for a song... RS just sometimes sees a new version as a completely new song and thus starts with empty stats.)
  21. Here is my result for Intermediate Lead: 98.26% http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=375013123 I have to admit that I don't really like this song... (not the CDLC*, but the song itself) *although I feel like the tone changes are too late sometimes, right?
  22. I already had a link to some pictures included, but I have put one into the post itself now, too :-) (Can anyone tell me if there is a way to reduce the size of an image on this board?)
  23. Did you know you can set the dynamic to "robot" (or something like that)? The feature of a "perfect" drummer who does never change the pace is already there!
  24. Very late answer, but: It is not obvious how many levels the DDC created. You can enable "Generate Log" and look at the logfile to find out how many difficulty levels each arrangement has... but lots of people don't know / do that. "1" is the default value for the number of levels, so I'd say in all those cases charters didn't know or cared about how many levels they actually had. And to be honest, before DDC, when people created levels manualy, this field might have been useful, but with DDC it is just not important anymore...
  25. No. As I said before, the "Backup and Restore Games" function of Steam only saves the files you did download from the internet for installing a game. It does not contain any of your local profiles, and is only useful for making a clean new install of a game. When you reinstall a game, Steam will also download your personal profile (scores etc.) from the Steam Cloud. But if your local profile gets corrupted, the cloud version will be instantly synced with the corrupted version.
