  2. To quickly address this thread. I am not sure how this one slipped through our fingers for so long, but thank you to everyone in it for not going too far over the edge. I apologize on behalf of the entire staff for not catching the comments. The OP was reaching out to the community at large and there is no reason for anyone to ever treat them with anything but respect. If you guys catch posts like this that we miss, please let me know so I can take care of it quickly. Basically if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it.
  3. @@Snake3169 I am sure we can get it stickied for you. I know I am interested in seeing it. Once you have it posted send me a PM so I can take a look and get that done for you. Thank you for taking the time to create something like this for our community!
  4. We have some openings in our moderator staff. For the most part, the community polices itself and is very low maintenance. That being said, we still need to keep an eye out and look through every post just to make sure the general rules are being followed. We presently have 19,454 members and 27,641 posts as of 1605 EST April 14th. That is a huge task just reading all that. If you have ever considered becoming a larger part of our community, here are some guidelines to help you decide! We expect our moderators to do the following: Log on almost every day. Read through the posts and reply with helpful and polite information. Follow the rules themselves. (All of them) Ask questions. – This is more an understanding that you aren’t a one person show. Have a general understanding of where our community is headed and be a part of that. I look forward to hearing from you! Joe - Spades Please copy and paste everything from the line down into a new post and reply to the questions. ---------- If you already meet the above things, please answer a few questions for us so we can review them and get you your shiny red name: Why do you want to be a moderator? What do you bring to the Customs Forge community that is unique to you? Cake or Pie? (this is important) How much time do you spend on the site daily? Have you filled out your profile information on the site? Have you ever been a Moderator anywhere else before? Can you follow instructions?
  5. My Kitty is the best: And the dog my wife wouldn't let me have: He is an actual local dog someone was trying to re-home.
  6. I will list some highlights for you because I like you have seen too many to list. My first show, Korn opened for 311 in '93 on the grassroots tour. I have seen Dave Mathews many times. Godmsmack at least 9 times. Zombie (Both White and Solo), Chevelle, Seether, Halestorm, Five Finger Death Punch, Adellita's Way, 30 Seconds to Mars, Rev Theory, Hollywood Undead (who is bad ass live I might add), Cypress Hill, Manson, Slipknot, Stone Sour, Fall out Boy, Filter, Arron Lewis (Solo), Staind (many many times), Black Label Society, Alice in Chains (Both black and white singers), Nirvana, Bush, Julian K, Orgy, Blues Traveler, Candlebox, Cold, Crossfade, Papa Roach (I have pictures with them), and lots more that aren't coming to me right now. I started seeing shows in High School and didn't stop up until a few years ago. My wife and I planned our vacations around rock festivals around the country for a while. The highlight though is a few years back she won a chance off the radio for an all access pass to Linkin Park. I got to go back stage and meet them, then was on the stage and in the camera pit during the show. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g34/jshaw0705/DSCN6697_zpsd79bf80e.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g34/jshaw0705/DSCN6696_zps55b406dc.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g34/jshaw0705/DSCN6685_zps6b35d91d.jpg Some of them are blurry but you get the idea. I had a really crappy camera back then.
  7. Hey @@JameS ! Check the CDLC search at the top of the page. If someone has made it, it will be in there. Thanks!
  8. I would highly suggest checking out a Epiphone Special SG. It was my first guitar and honestly I prefer it to my Fender Strat. They can be had for about $100 at most used guitar stores. $200 new. They look very nice and feel wonderful for a cheaper guitar.

  10. if you're a charter, i would say, take one of yours and remove the guitar tone with the toolkit and try. i dont want to blame one more than the other. They actually got links to some. We just moved them to PM. :ugeek:
  11. Congrats on the new job and happy birthday!! The site has been growing nicely. Thank you to our user group as they have made it so it really requires very little moderation. It's great to have such a great community here with us!
  12. @@Ally Crazy rocker chick is probably an understatement considering her views on suicide .. luckily for us she seems to be more interested in making music and name for herself than following her own advice though.
  13. It's a Creedence Clearwater kind of day. @@Ally It's amazing that she was Cindy Lou Who not that long ago. What a change between then and now.
  14. @@UKLooney That's because you are actually using some sort of tone. It doesn't have to be a custom tone, just some type of tone period. Assuming I understand correctly. Some people are posting them with no tone to them at all.
  15. @@hdnsmbt It takes a big man to admit that.
  16. Now thats a GREAT idea. :-P The girl selling the Girl Scout cookies made a killing. A by the slice pizza place would be crazy.
  17. I think this is a great idea. It's very frustrating. For us too. However we don't host the files therefore we have no way to know if they have a custom tone installed correctly. We also have no way to know if the file is done correctly and can even be loaded. We are working on the database to let us move to a "completed" section which will help curb this problem. We just aren't there yet. Sorry you are having a bad morning. Hopefully this helps: http://www.breakfastblogger.com/wp-content/photos/rabbit_pancake.gif (I mean to be funny, no offense meant)
  18. You don't have to be DOT compliant. You don't own the trucks, you are a third party go between for trucks and companies. You do however have to ensure that all of the trucks you use are DOT compliant. That is the catch. At 100k you could get your first year going without issue. Just don't have any mistakes. It's a gamble, but the payoff is there as long as you are careful. The true hold up for us has been non-compete agreements they have all signed.
  19. Truthfully? Trucking Logistics. I have several friends that do that and they make 150k+ a year and that is 35% of their haul. I have gone through the ins and outs with them and have considered my own company several times. The initial build up is not fun as it's going between load boards, trucks, and cold calling finding new customers. The first year is also nail biting because you have insurance but the last thing you want is any type of incident. Once you are past your first year though, the start up companies hit the billion dollar mark generally in their 8 to 10 years.
  20. It's just the way the authors have chosen to format their submissions. Most people search by song name although I can see where having the author would be nice. As everything is done on a volunteer basis, even the programming of this site, we try and not force too many limitations on the creators.
  21. I am going out on a limb here but I am going to suggest that is a limitation of whatever you're using rather than the forum. I have access to everything from following to moderation from my S4 using Tapatalk.
  22. An approved section is actually in the works for this reason specifically. I have just tipped our hand as it were so I would like to avoid answering too many questions right now. There is bound to be an array of emotions considering this considering the way it was done on other sites, but that is the main reason it has not been implemented up until now. We are working on the best, most fair, and smoothest way to do this. More information to follow.
